This is a good video, but how is a person supposed to know what all the acronyms are and if they aply to them? This seems deliberatly not user friendly.

The Silencer Shop kiosks and website are the way to go. No more ink fingerprints, and they do everything for a mere $50 per transfer fee (fee waived if you buy through them). Their service populates all this info on the ATF website, there is no more mailing forms, and they even handle the CLEO notification. WELL worth the fee, and the only way I do it now.

How long did it take for silencer shop to send you the docusign and the info to be uploaded to the ATF website? I’m still waiting on all of that to happen, so I can’t even complete the ATF eform yet.

@@kyleperopat I made my purchases on Saturday 7/07, and they got back to me that Sunday. Should be quick, or I would call them. You don't fill out the ATF eForm, SS does. I'm assuming you already have an SS account. For the ATF website, you ONLY need to create an account and enter your personal info. Write down your username, login, and pin. Make sure your personal info on your ATF account matches EXACTLY what you have listed for your SS account. From there, make a purchase through SS, and they basically do the rest. SS fills out your Eform. SS even handles the CLEO notification. I received an email in one day to sign the documents and have them uploaded to the ATF website. You'll have to use your ATF account info and pin to allow SS to upload your eForms. It's easy to do. Pretty much just follow the prompts from Silencer Shop, and watch your email.

GREAT CHANNEL! Suggestion: I suggest you make a video that simply summarizes the purpose for each of the forms and what the forms are used to do.

When I request FFL Access there are (3) options for my Requested Role: Super User, Delegate or Submitter. I'm not sure which of these to use as the gun owner trying to complete this transaction. Secondly, there's a box that must be checked before you are able to hit submit. The stmt reads "I hereby certify that I am a bona fide employee of the federal firearms licensee from whom I am requesting access as an authorized user of the federal firearms licensee’s eForms profile." This box has to be checked with all (3) types of roles before you can hit submit. I'm not an FFL employee, I'm just a gun purchaser trying to complete a transaction. Can you help on which type of role I'm supposed to request and if it's ok to check the box despite not being an FFL employee???

If you aren't an FFL holder, you won't be able to use the ATF eForm 4. You can only apply using the paper application.

Thank you for the guides, they're awesome! Quick question: Is it common for a sheriffs office to be able to provide a digital copy of your finger prints in a .EFT file format?

It might be. Each sheriffs office is different.

So I'm trying to purchase a silencer through my local FFL/SOT. They have a silencershop kiosk. Will this form be filled out at my local shop through the kiosk? Also, on the CLEO section, do I have to find out all this information myself and then give it to my FFL, or will the FFL have this information? Do I have to get my local CLEO to sign off on my form 4? I'll be so glad to get this process done at least once so that I'll know exactly how it works. Thanks for the video guide, it's extremely helpful.

Yes your local FFL should complete this with you. Your FFL should have this information. You can contact them directly and ask them this question. No you don't need to have your CLEO sign off on your application. You are very welcome. Glad we could help you.

Sorry if I'm a little slow, but how do I find my FFL on the "Transferor" step? (~3:09). The dropdown doesn't allow me to select from a list (or list is empty). Do I have to go back to my FFL & ask them to log-in? Or do they find my "Draft" and add their info? It's strange to me that it wouldn't just let me select from a list or input their EIN number and populate the FFL's information. From there it could send them a notice to approve/agree they are holding the item I had shipped to them.

Only accounts that are FFL's are able to use the ATF eForm 4. You would need to go to your FFL and have them apply for your tax stamp with their FFL account.

if i want to purchase an sbr online and have it shipped to a local ffl do i do that first or start this whole form4 process first, wait for approval then by the weapon?

You will need to purchase the firearm, have it shipped to your local FFL. Then. you can apply for the tax stamp using the ATF Form 4/ATF eForm 4. Wait for approval, once approved pick up the firearm.

You have to be an FFL in order to use the ATF eForm 4. You can contact your FFL with the questions you have about your application.

Can the eForm 4 system be used for a private NFA sale? In other words, an individual selling a used NFA item to another individual. Out of curiosity, I just logged into the eForms system and on Screen 2 "Transferor", it appears it is only possible for an FFL to complete the page.

No it can't. You have to be an FFL to use the ATF eForm 4 system at this time.

I live in Texas and I'm 18 if I wanted to buy a pistol from a private seller do I need to fill any paperwork out or do I just give them the money and take the pistol

We cannot say. You would need to comply with your Texas and Federal Transfer laws.

If a customer brings in a physical passport photo, can we just scan it and then upload it or is there a procedure to obtaining digital passport photo?

Yes you can do that. That wouldn't be an issue at all.

I cant figure out the XXX-XX-XX number it asks for when requesting ffl. If I'm just a regular person trying to get a suppressor would I select submitter or superuser?

You can only use the ATF eForm 4 if you have an FFL license. You will need to work with your FFL to apply for the tax stamp that you purchased.
