Yes! Just found my next medium duty truck. Always liked the FTR but mated to the 5.2 just wasn’t going to do it. Have NPRs with the 5.2 and knew that there was no way that would be good in a bigger truck. Thank you guys!

I started my interest in Isuzu trucks as soon as they acquired UD. I’m a UD FANBOY. they are the greatest trucks ever built. Hopefully that greatness transitions to to the Isuzu line.

This is awesome news! I thought the 5.2l worked ok for city use. A lot of people didn't know Isuzu upped the torque in the engine for the FTR, 68 lb-ft over the N series.

They do that already but the only way to get it is from a Chevy Dealer, they offer it with the 6.4 liter V8 engine

I want one. Sad to see faucie say the masks and 6 foot was just made up to give people something to do and think it is helping. Good to see you guys try to do the best you can even the masks. I hope the cummins issue is solved fast and you guys sell twice as many trucks in North America. I would love a F series with 4x4 and a 30 foot box, anyone have a spare one to give away??? I hope you sell more through GM also, build them sales. Leave nothing on the tailgate. It would be cool to see a F series with a short frame and a dually pickup box on it with the Cummins.

Not so good news, why not also to assemble 4HK1 & 6HK1 engine as another engine variant? Hino North America is even assembling their Japanese.engine model such as A09C & J05E

Imagine the light duty with Cummins B4.5! That would be awesome. It still won’t ever sell well in Canada without 4x4 in any configuration outside of box truck applications imo. Where I’m from in Alberta Canada 4x4 F550s remain dominant. Cummins also offers B4.5 Hybrid and B6.7 Hybrid powertrains which would be pretty innovative in that market segment, try to go after municipalities and refuse market.

Cummins isnt a Japanese engine. They should install 6HK1-TCN instead.

In US, why isuzu f series used small engine by cummins 6.7liters.. In indonesia used big engine by isuzu japan 7.8litees 6hk-1

Both FTR and FVR have an Allison 6-Speed Automatic. The FTR has a 2550 RDS and the FVR has a 2500 RDS

@@1SR71 The F-Series does not come in a crew cab and no unfortunately we do not offer 4x4 in the United States or Canada.

No, for this we went with the Cummins for a number of reasons but one is because it meets the emissions requirements of the U.S.

It's because of new 2021 emissions standards for medium-duty vehicles. Hino is also dropping their Class 6-7 OEM engine for Cummins because it would cost them too much to modify the current engine to meet emissions rather than buying one from Cummins that meets the standards.
