I am a 71 year old widow living alone. I have been decluttering for a long while. I'm getting rid of so much stuff that I know my 2 sons will not want or have to deal with when I'm gone. It will make things so much easier for them and I feel so accomplished and like a huge weight has been lifted.

I love how you feel good for what you DID accomplish rather than be like me and frustrated I didn’t get it ALL done! That’s why I have such a hard time starting Took me 3 days to declutter my bathroom closet which has a ton of first aid stuff, vitamins, etc. we actually seem to use all that stuff🙈. But I did throw out a whole bunch of lipsticks that I found in a ziploc bag I hadn’t seen in at least 6 months or so. I figured if I hadn’t missed them I can let them go. Now watch me NEED “that” color 😂😂😂 You are doing a super great job on your channel. Please don’t ever think anything you do isn’t going to be important or matter. I love listening to you and your reasoning and wisdom and excuses and advice and encouragement!!! It’s ALL so so good! You are truly a blessing Amanda. ❤️🙏

Great job! You got soooooo much work done! As you mentioned yourself, it would be a good idea to label with tape in the future so the bins don't get marked up. I'm also wondering why you label the lids instead of the sides. As soon as you stack the bins, your labels get covered up. When you label the sides, you can tell at a glance what's in the bin without unstacking everything.

if you want to get rid of the writing on your tubs try nailpolish remover. It works great for such things :)

I'm moving I've sold so much stuff on market place. Trashed so much delivered so much packing what I'm keeping along with my 2 grandchildren.im 62 and I've lived here 21 yrs I've lived in this town since I was 6.im stressed I'm gonna miss it here.i came here to watch your channel now I'm inclined to finish packing I'm minimalizing my clutter.were moving Saturday because where we live has been sold the whole trailer park has been sold trailers are being torn down.the owner hasn't asked for rent since it sold last day of november.so I have December and Jan money to move with.its just a mess ty for your video it's helped me alot I don't have much left to pack lots of furniture is being given away.so we don't have much to put in storage.rent prices are awful.

Ok...deep breath.. I have so many things I want to say.. 1. LOVE LOVE this whole video... Thank you 2. I LOVE that you used marker on the totes.. I have done that too. My hubs is not a fan, but I love it. Stickers and tape fall off.. Marker stays..till you wipe it with goo gone😉😉 3. I completely agree that a kiddo starting off doesn't need all new things. Ruin the old stuff as you learn how to adult and the reward is the pretty new things you get. 4. LOVE LOVE LOVE that you had help from the family.... I subbed and will be waiting for more great content.. TFS💜❤💜

I love this video so much! Just a note - if you have local / municipal recycling to get some of your paper clutter in the recycling instead of the trash. Where my mom lives municipal recycling only collects cans and cardboard and glass, which is too bad but better than nothing. Love that your girls helped you go through things ❤

My dad told my mom when they got a divorce that he would never leave my mom or twin sister helpless like with stuff. I think this is great and wished most divorcées acted like this. My dad helps with everything at my moms. Water leak or she needed a driveway made with stone etc. He does a lot of work on the house that would cost them a lot if they would have to get a contractor. My dad has a ex girlfriend and she won’t even barely co parent with him. I have a little sister. It makes me sad. 😢

Hearing you say 20 years, I’m over here thinking wow I’m in the same boat 15 plus years in the same place. When I moved here I didn’t think I’d be living in the same place for that long. If I had thought about this I’d gotten a cubic freezer for my apartment. I should actually go through my tubes and my box of my keepsakes. Most of my boxes I have are in storage at my mom’s house with in the shed or the camper which was passed down to me from my Grandpa. Where I really need to declutter is my photos, I have so many on my phone. I used to scrapbook which I’d love to get back into it.

Go girl go!!! Permanent marker comes off those bins with rubbing alcohol. A personal recommendation is listening to your song choices. Some I have to turn down from little ears but then others are good and God centered but it's a toss up.

Alden is my kids dad. He was helping us in this day & Heather has been my best friend for years. I also have 4 girls. My oldest is 21, 19, 17, & 11. ❤️

Dry erase markers over the permanent marker wipe off gets permanent markers off plastic!

Windex and a magic eraser might take the permanent marker off of those. Then just use either clear packing tape or painters tape. That's the way my mom always did it, she still has some of those tubs from when I was a teenager (I'm 41 now). They last foorreevveeerrr :)

Heather is my best friend and my roommate for the time being. I have 4 daughters - Lexi, Reagan, Kennedy, and Allison. I have an adopted 14 year old sister, Caylynn. Give each one of your kids, their own memory bin and label it labeling is really helpful for family members when you’re organizing because then they know exactly where something goes and once everything has a place and that’s where it goes. Can you also explain all of these peoples names who they are to you getting very confused.

You might can remove the old sharpie writing on the tubs with rubbing alcohol. There is like a step by step guide to getting sharpie off anything if you search on google.
