This one needs no introduction, we’ve long anticipated this car in our market and it’s finally roaming the streets.
It’s more agile, faster, quicker, and more luxurious inside with nappa leather seats, even more sportier with some blue accents inside-out.
The biggest highlight for me is the massively improved handling all thanks to a clever differential at the rear that can accelerate the inside rear wheel faster than the outside one during cornering which helps the car rotate around its mass, truly the stuff of magic.
I’m happy to report that this is the new King of our South African Roads! 🫡👑💙

Thank you guys for tuning into yet another video. So the plan was to do a back-to-back review with the 7.5 R, but the owner of the 8R ended up having an emergency so I just decided to focus on the Mk8 rather… These are some of the things that happen in the background which you guys don’t get to see. Nonetheless, I’m happy I was able to do a full review on the Golf 8R, hope you enjoyed it.

The Oryx White on the 7.5 R is more premium than the Pure White on the 8 R. Wish they would have brought that over.

That’s true, my dream and passion mainly lies in performance cars, but I’ve had to adapt into reviewing normal cars too so I can keep the content going… So that side of me is always woken up when I’m behind the wheel of a performance car.

My only wish for the MK8 R was R kickplates on the doors. The MK 8 GTI didnt have these and I didnt see them on MK8.5 either. Meaning that the MK8.5 R wont have them also. Bit of a downer but still a cool car though

Il wait for the 8.5. I seriously don't like the headlights of the 8. Other angles look super. The interior, only the seats are amazing but dash design I also prefer that of the 7.5.

Obviously it doesn't work fine, because you said yourself that you can't see them in the dark... Also, just because some electronic works when it's brand new doesn't mean it's going to work in 5 years time... Apply some common sense.

@@TommyWalls007 it's all just a fuss, that's a small detail, that doesn't mean it won't work in 5 years? If it was otherwise physical buttons would that guarantee it'll work in 5 years? That still doesn't checkout, obviously it's been engineered to serve its purpose and last. The functionality is a small detail, besides you can still control everything via the screen so🤷‍♂️ I just don't understand why everyone is so fussy, if car manufacturers listened to every opinion do you think they'd even be able to make a car? You don't have to answer this though...

If I need a screen to operate climate control, then I say so long 😂. People should enjoy what they already have, no need always wasting money on newer shinny stuff. Africans should invest in themselves
