The new Aston Martin DB12 emerges as a symbol of automotive refinement and performance, marking a significant evolution from its predecessor, the DB11. Positioned as a "super tourer" rather than merely a grand tourer, the DB12 exudes a sense of grandeur and power from every angle. Visually, the DB12 retains Aston Martin's iconic design language while receiving subtle yet impactful updates. The enlarged grille commands attention, complemented by swept-back headlights sporting a fresh lighting signature. Noteworthy are the smaller frameless side mirrors and wider front and rear tracks, enhancing both aesthetics and performance. Aston's emblematic winged logo proudly graces the car's nose, signifying its status as the first production vehicle to showcase this revised insignia. Under the hood lies a formidable twin-turbocharged V8 engine, a departure from the previous V12 powerplant. Hand-built by Mercedes AMG, this 4.0-liter engine delivers a staggering 671 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, eclipsing the output of its predecessor and even surpassing the prior V12 variant. Key enhancements, including larger turbos and revised compression ratios, contribute to this impressive power boost. The DB12's performance prowess is complemented by a meticulously engineered chassis and suspension system. Featuring firmer anti-roll bars and Aston's latest adaptive dampers, the car rides on specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 summer tires wrapped around 21-inch wheels. An electronic rear differential ensures precise control over the rear wheels, seamlessly adjusting from open to locked as needed. Inside the cabin, the DB12 combines luxury with practicality. The redesigned dashboard boasts improved ergonomics, with ample cubby space and intuitive physical switchgear. The centerpiece is a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with 3D mapping and software updates.
