The new Audi A6 Avant e-tron has been caught testing on the road, and this electric estate is likely to arrive in mid 2024.
If you want a zero-emission vehicle with serious payload capacity, there aren't many alternatives to large electric SUVs at the moment. But Audi is hoping to change that with the A6 Avant e-tron, an all-electric estate capable of taking on the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo, the only premium electric estates currently on sale.
The Audi A6 Avant e-Tron is going to share the same battery tech as the saloon, and it’s going to get the same choice of single- and dual-motor drive systems as well.
Under the floor sits a 100kWh battery that’ll give the car around 435-miles of range. It’ll also be capable of the same 270kW charging speeds as the saloon, meaning you can top up 186-miles of range in just 10 minutes.
The Avant e-tron is expected to cost around £60,000; That's much higher than today's A6 Avant, but slightly lower than the cheapest Taycan Sport Turismo. More powerful versions will cost around £70,000, significantly below the Taycan Sport Turismo 4S.
