8:02 That's the hourly chime setting. The first alarm probably has snooze functionality, the others usually do not. Having all these gimmicks and different screen windows in one piece has an absolute appeal to the right person. It being compatible with the "Casio Royale", it probably will be a modern classic.

I have the WS-1500H which basically has the same module in a case more akin to an AE-1500. One of my favorite Casios. Will more than not get the sand variant once it hits my market.

Nice review, good looking watch with good functions but i never finish understand why casio insist with that tiny digital clock on the corner, i think that space could be more useful as a function indicator or something like that.

Although, a case could be made that it does get used for animations during timer and stopwatch etc, and it COULD be (but isn't on this model, other than Moon/Tide) used to tell the time when in other modes!

Hi have few question to ask before hitting 5k and Before buying this watch. 1. Do you feel any problem because of that but? 2. Is that bug is only with 2nd time or it is permanent with 1st time ? 3. Should i go with casio world time watch comes with map or should i purchase this one and which watch is having best build quality? 4. If i modify this watch with metallic strap will it fell premium of not and the metalic strap is lighter weight or heavier? 5. ❤

1. I don't feel any problem with the bug. I don't really use the Dual Time feature, so it doesn't affect me. 😄 2. The bug is only with Dual Time, the normal "Home Time" is not affected whatsoever 👌 3. That's a tough call! It's not up to me, but based on what you've told me, it sounds like you're a bit concerned with the size of the WS-1700H, so the AE-1200 is another great option. Both are amazing watches! 🤩 4. That depends on the strap you use. The one I installed on my AE-1200 using the SKMEI shown in the Short Video, does feel quite lightweight. 5. ❤🐐

5:24 just saw that on a local online store for my country. It's around 74 aus dollars when converted to your money. Freaking USA man, they get all the discounts. I also regularly see (over at the casio subreddit) other casio stuff being sold at 5 usd at US Walmarts. Feels bad man.

Not a bad price, all things considered! 74 AUD is like 48 USD, not that much more than 35 really 😜 I don’t mind paying a little extra but when the RRP here was 160 AUD it’s just a joke. I am in Australia, where we aren't within range of the MultiBand 6 towers - So it's hard to remain unbiased 😄 I would say that it's an amazing feature for those who are within range of the towers, as it automatically ensures your clock is accurate to the second, every day! 👌 But should every watch have it? The answer is no, because it would make some otherwise-affordable watches (that don't really need MB6) much more expensive.

This pricing policy and the availability limited only to Japan and the USA is sad. They create unnecessary expectations, even if it were a model with incredible features and high-quality materials ... I'm definitely not looking for it until it's in the local shop and even discounted, importing it from Japan or the USA costs a fortune in ridiculous duties and taxes. That said, I already like the version in the "Royale" case more than the original one (too big). All these "entry" models apart from the various versions of the modules, share the same form-factor, which explains the possibility of moving them between the various cases. They basically just have to "shape" the outside of the resin cases. Nice and sincere review, it helped me eliminate the hype I had about this watch.

Indeed it is. 😢 If only there was a way we could be immune from the hype, if we weren't able to get them as easily! 😜 It's definitely a smart move to be patient with this one, and wait for the hype to die down. I can see many people wanting to do this! Absolutely, it does look nice and sleek in the Royale case 👌 Though I must admit I am quite fond of the bulky 'G-Shock-like-" case it comes with too 😄 You know, I wonder how much the thicker bezel and case would affect its shock resistance! 🤔 (Though I understand it's not a G-Shock of course) No problems, my friend! 🙏 I'm really pleased my review could help you come to a clear minded decision.

I got a WS1100 and WS1500 from US Amazon for $114 including delivery to QLD. last month 🤷♂️ they also had the WS1700 in the 3 colours too but I don’t recall the price…

Hi Gameboy, 👋 It released in the USA around new year I believe - one of the first along with Japan! I suspect that the reason it’s no longer available on the Casio Website is that they have taken it down to address the Dual Time issue - either that or they may have just sold out 😅

Has anyone who purchased this (US customer if there is a batch difference) noticed the dual time/second time cannot display in PM? Mine goes from 1159 AM to 1200 AM. In 24hr mode it will not go to 1200 just 1159 to 0000. I think this module is defective. I have returned mine to Casio.

Interesting! 🧐 The Grey and the Sand coloured ones all cost the same on the Casio website at release… I imagine the markups on the secondary market must be caused by Supply/Demand issues. I have the Sand coloured one in my backlog, planning to mod it… although I hear Casio is re-releasing them, with a fixed module to Address the Duel-Time issue! G’day Stumble! 👋 The WS-1700H doesn’t have a ‘World Time’ mode, but does feature a ‘Dual Time’, which theoretically allows you to track a second time zone. Unfortunately, this feature is bugged on this particular watch 🥲 (As shown in my follow up review for this watch)

Aww man. I can see that this watch might be what some would consider "too big" for smaller wrist sizes. But there's hope on the Horizon! Modding this module into an AE-1200 should look much better on all wrist sizes 👌😁 I'm planning to give this mod a shot in my follow up review.
