What I find humorous about Newage’s Transformers is that they try to avoid copyright headaches with Hasbro when they change names of their characters by using names of other intellectual properties.

Honestly seeing this kind of depresses me with how lazy the earthrise seekers were and we’re not likely to get another new scale seeker for years. I just wish someone would make a new chug scale mould

Newage caught my eye since last year I decided to get into 3rd party Legends, but just the SG ones so I don't go overboard. But yeah this one has to be one of the best 3rd party Legends lads I have. Newage stuff never disappoints and I'm super excited to get their SG Prime before 2021 is up.

The after market wing flaps make this mold look amazing in alt mode. They are such a small addition to the wings but the difference is night and day.

Oh my god thank you sooo much for that heel spur tip! I just got Thundercracker from ShowZ and that was the one thing that bothered me. That and the clear plastic stand port breaking... Oh well.

@@DrLockdown Well, after multiple shipping delays, he FINALLY got here..... and I absolutely adore him! I didn't notice in the pictures, but they used thick chrome paint to mimic the G1 stickers on this guy and everything. I'm honestly wishing I'd known about figures like this when I first started collecting. lol

I’ve always stood by the fact that this is the best G1 style seeker to be released. Not that it is inherently better then the others in every category, but rather if you upscale it to a voyager or even a masterpiece (obviously adding what they could at those price points, not just straight upscaling) you could probably make a 99% perfect seeker body. Like I think anything this thing doesn’t do is because of size and everything it does do at the size is super impressive. Hell it even has an accurate back with such a simple, intuitive transformation

Nah if you upscaled it, it would look pretty messy. I've seen legends upscales. They don't work so well. This works BECAUSE it's legends, and because the designers know what they can do at the scale

@@DrLockdown Could a future Voyager seeker mold at least take inspiration from this? Mainly to solve ER Starscream's various issues, plus how small its wings honestly seem in robot mode, compared to the vast wingspan of this?

yeah these look great. I hope iron factory does more colors for their seekers. I would love to see a action master thundercracker for them. Can't wait for you to do a review on those seekers But this mold looks great and I love how much stuff it comes with. To me that takes the price down because you don't have to go hunting and paying for a stand by its self. Love the megatron gun those colors do remind me of the Nintendo zapper.

Thanks, well aware, but not interested. They're upscaled, and I like small scale figures. Plus Jinbao's quality is dubious. I reckon I'll stick with the original.

@@DrLockdown yeah I know, problem is, I’m on a budget 99.999999999999% of the times and so I always want something that Will fit in my collection and that I will not have to replace, so legends scale figure aren’t usually an option, unless they are in scale with my collection like the maketoys tailgate that I wanted for Christmas But I will not be able to buy it since there are some problems that made it so that I couldn’t choose what I wanted for Christmas….*screams in pain*

I see that they have an animation deco for the starscream color of this mold, I own a large amount of the recent three years of war for cybertron, I also have a lot of different sound waves from across different lines. Would you recommend this if I was considering starting my starscream shelf if the only other starscream I have is the earth rise? Sorry for the ramble. I just haven’t actually been this impressed with a transformer since I got my masterpiece soundwave years ago

The only 2 problems that mine has is that the back fins are ridiculously lose at the ball joint and that the stand has broken at the very tip of it

I usually prefer the original names. SG keeps reusing stuff, and I'm not a fan of it overwriting the older obscure origins

From what I know Seekers often miss out on waist swivels because of, what I and my group have dubbed, the cutpit. Newage, Crimson Wings, MakeToys, Siege, all the Seekers have a cutpit and some people hate it. Hate it so much it's worth losing a joint. Like several people I know. I will never understand

I've seen that complaint around a bit too, but here's the thing: it only started being a thing when MP52 was revealed. People started using it as an excuse to justify the lack of the joint there. Before that, nobody ever complained about segmented cockpits

See that's the thing: it's actually just the right amount of complexity for the size. Any bigger and it would look unfinished, and any smaller and it would be too complex

Jinbao did one, and it's a 3-pack for the main three. Thing is, I'm told the plastic is iffier, the stand doesn't work for jet mode, and the only thing it does better is to fill out the wings in jet mode for more altmode accuracy. I dunno if that's really worth it, though...

Yeah I'd like that too. If they needed to remould the figure (which they don't need tbh) all they need to do is reshape the chest panels to something more feminine (and conform the cockpit to accomodate them), slap on a new head (ideally one that leans towards the Cyberverse design rather then the TFA one) leave everything else as is and boom Slipstream.

I think newage was founded by some of dx9's former designers, given the latter's products have appeared on the former's boxes without any cease and decist letters.
