What your favorite basing materials to use when working on miniatures or terrain?

Super glue, Ashes and then Elmer's then spray primer to seal, then color. Or just sand, same method

Create structure with cardboard, card, then texture, can get great invention from almost nothing.

I've used WS products for .. um .. decades. The pre-blend gravel and pre-tinted rocks caught my eye. I work in 10+ square foot sized scenes. The gravel pre-blends could be a time saver. It's nice to see WS expanding to embrace the gaming and diorama community more boldly.

I'm still using two big shakers of green flock and small gravel that I've had for probably near 25 years.

Your marder is an easy fix. Spray on chipping fluid or just hairspray. Then give it a coat of white ... wet a toothbrush with water then "weather it by brushing off as much or little of the white as you want....presto winter camouflage. Love your enthusiasm!!!

When you eventually play on your Realm of Battle board I recommend you use a dice tray. The dice don't often land flat on the board. Also the dice hitting the board resonate loudly.

Get a static grass applicator get a model railway book and you will get a lot of ideas for scenery

1-Would the cats eat the spoil, gravel, grass? 2-I thought it would be more stuff like the rocks. I would have been much more happy with that sort of stuff. Complete and/or wrecked buildings would have been nice. Tables, chairs, a cauldron.

Interesting stuff and I don't know if you can do this, but in Australia the primary source for scenic stuff was the kit you could get from model railway stores. All of my scenery comes from that and mainly a German company called Noch. More recently a few guys have been storing the Geek Gaming Supplies but they are harder to get for me. I don't know if this is possible, but a comparison on price and quality with an existing supplier might be interesting.

Woodland Scenics primary market is railway modelers. It is nice to see them embracing the gaming market. I've been using their products (and Noch etc.) for many years.

Bunnings have small rocks for pot plants etc that are very good value for the amount you get, I’ve also bought 20kg of playground sand which is great for basing and very cheap and clean, I just hit it with a brown wash and add a bit of static grass looks great
