I completely agree with you on this one. I’ve never had Apple TV before and recently got the Ethernet 128 gb version and I love it! It’s my favorite Apple purchase of the year. Love the 4K and Dolby Atmos capabilities and the automatic interactions with other Apple devices. It is absolutely perfect for those deep in the Apple ecosystem. And even those who aren’t. I also give it a 10 score!

I got one because its basically future proof with usb c remote and not having an internal fan that could break since its sealed it cant get dust in too. The homekit feature is a bonus, Its also crazy to me they released one like a year before that had a lightning plug remote and a higher cost. Im not planning on upgrading it either and people are still using their 10 year old apple tvs so this one should last a while

Welp, I got the AirPods Max pre-enjoyed and today picked up an HomePod mini for upstairs (got the OG HomePod), also purchased the Ethernet Apple TV 4K (realizing both have Thread ;-}. Maybe should’ve checked before but my upstairs old TV does t have HMDi 😱… so my 4th Generation A1626 still works great & just paired the new Siri Remote to it & am now unsure what to do, get the Remote separately or stick with it and in time buy a new TV upstairs (even though 8 out if -0 times I’m listening to music ;-} Decision decisions…

It’s for about 95% of the time my way of watching TV (I don’t have, nor want cable TV). I have the 4th Gen and have been looking at getting a second one, even if it’s only for te remote -the remote I currently have is the single most annoying thing Apple branded I have 😡. At the same time I’m considering AirPod Max since I prefer listening to music over TV. I might YOLO it and get both (AirPod Max pre-enjoyed). Hi, I have a 2017 apple tv 4k that I've had for almost 7 years but it's starting to lag so I'm thinking of buying a new 2022 apple tv 4k. is that a good idea

A price reduction for the USA, that we in the UK have to pay for and then some. They make us pay £149 (or $180) for the base model!

I picked one up, I mean it’s nice to have with the integration of Apple Music but the down sample 24bit/96Khz to 24bit/48Khz part sucks and no one talks about what the point of Apple having Hi-Res audio but none of there device are compatible of output. The Apple TV is easy to use but sucks to pay $130 -$150 just for a box that is locked down by Subscriptions. From Music, TV Shows, Movies and even Games. A15 chip is a power house held back by the OS. More than 90% of the paid games I own and not compatible with AppleTV, which to makes no since as it’s has more CPU, GPU, RAM than the iPhone and iPads I own plus the games have controller support. Instead they want you to pay for Apple Arcade. I’m not much gamer anymore but again just disappointing as it could be so much more. Also the Storage on the device needs to be able to be used. Example 64gb or 128gb should be allowed to download Netflix shows for offline viewing just like a phone and Purchased Movies and Shows from iTunes. Just more reasons why this held back by the OS. As for AppleTV+ again a overpriced subscription that has no useful shows of movies. Apple should use the movies they have on iTunes and give out like 3 movies a month or allow view them on there service. It would increase the benefits and make it more appealing and competitive. Nvidia Shield is still miles better for allowing 24bit/96Khz pass through audio and atleast allowing for gaming without subscriptions. Im not saying the AppleTV is bad by any means. Just you pay for a premium streamer that is limited and cost more with many other premium subscriptions. When most TVs are SmartTV an have usually apps built in.

It's cheaper because it doesn't come with a charging cable and the remote is not fully charged out of the box. So in order to use this, you need to run out and get a USB-C charging cable. Can't believe Apple would do that.
