I’ve had a pair of 993’s for 5 years now and by far they have been the best shoes I have ever worn. Easily the most versatile, comfortable, and well-built shoe in terms of durability. I put them through hell and wore them almost daily. I could dress them up and wear them with a nice outfit for dinner or wear them to darties, crawfish boils, BBQ’s, etc.. I wore them to the gym everyday and for hundreds of leg days (phenomenal shoes for doing legs), Wore them on 16 different trips to Europe, I wore them on dozens of hiking and camping trips, waded through small rivers in them, wore them while mountain biking… the list goes on. Any other shoe would have been destroyed but somehow these have remained the most comfortable shoes I’ve owned and they still function and look phenomenally well after all of that abuse. I do want to reiterate just how amazing these were for hiking… better than any other hiking shoe I’ve ever had. Hundreds of miles of hiking at Yosemite, a few dozen miles at Zion and big bend, and so many other locations. The grip and stability is what surprised me the most for sure while remaining extremely comfortable. The only “hiking” shoes that comes close to comfort is hoka’s mafate speed 4 trail running shoe but it’s definitely lacking the stability and rigidity of the 993’s. Going to buy a new pair to replace these probably next year.

Really like this program. Gives us consumers a way to get good discounts on kicks and it promotes sustainability. Wish they would use actual photos of the shoes on the site. I think a real test of the program would be to buy a shoe in "good" condition, since it is the "worst" condition you can get from the program.

Really dig this program! I’m excited to see some discontinued models, like the 990v3 and 992, hit the site. Maybe we’ll get lucky with the 991, 997, and so on? I’d be stoked for a below retail 991v2. Those are wildly expensive in North America.

The prices are pretty high compared to other used markets. Im sure one of the major goals of the Reconsider Program is to control the used market and help maintain brand value by keeping prices high

Whats the sizing like for 993? i've tried on the 2002r and 1906r which i was a 10.5 in. i'm a 10 in both the 990v5 and 550s (although a tad looser)

They could have included the original box. Other than that, looks a great idea.

So I just purchased a pair and I’m not happy with the program! First bad thing is customer service and only email support! Second thing is the shipping! I have been waiting for almost a week and have only been provided tracking with customer saying they have been shipped and UPS saying they haven’t been given the package! Big mistake as they are not worth the hassle if they can’t provide full support as New Balance!
