New Barrett REC10 .308 rifle at SHOT Show 2019

Күн бұрынA step up from the company’s popular REC7 5.56mm carbine, the new REC10 brings a .308 Winchester chambering to the line - a first for the Tennessee-based company.
Chris Barrett, president of Barrett Firearms, talked to Guns.com about the new direct impingement SR25-pattern semi-auto at the 41st annual SHOT Show in Las Vegas last week. Debuted on the commercial market just prior to the trade show, the REC10 has a carbine-length 16-inch chrome-lined barrel and machined billet receivers while accepting 20-round PMAGS.
Barrett emphasized that the 8-pound rifle has been through an extensive amount of military testing in the past couple of years that included a 6,000-round test fire with a suppressor attached. “So that’s a very tough test to get through but this rifle has been through it and is highly refined to live in those kinds of bad conditions,” he said.

My REC 10 is great, used it from 100 to 800yds shooting 175gr Sierra's averaging 1 to 1.5 MOA to 800yds. Using a Leupold v2 6x. So light and accurate. Glad I bought it.

Rec10 in 6.5 Creedmoor with a heavy barrel please. Like most others that were in the market for an AR10 already bought one. We are now in 6.5 Creedmoor target/hunting market. I don’t have the figures but I surf the forums and that is where the market is and would hate to see Barrett miss that train

3006 doesnt fit in an ar10 platform, would have to be something more custom like the .300wm ar style rifles made by Nemo arms I think.

Spoke w/ rep today, was told that yellow zip-tie indicates "1 MOA or better" which, really, should be a minimum

Probably $3k+ rifle with some of the cheapest iron sights. Granted the rifle probably needs an optic. Just seems like a really cheap add-on

I agree, that was my only disappointment. For a rifle this price, the fact that they send it with all the cheapest plastic parts - polymer Magpul sights, instead of the metal MBUS Pro; flimsy plastic injection port cover; and a Radian Raptor charging handle "made just for Barrett", but what they don't tell you is that that is plastic as well, even though the regular version is usually metal. On a budget gun I could understand this, maybe on a $2,100 and I can understand this - but a $2,800 gun, no way.

@@Sparks00psn The Rec 10 was initially developed for socom. Then the contract was scraped when in development. So yes it was for the U.S. Military but not fielded.
