If it helps, try looking at existing cities. For example, in Manchester, UK, you have the “downtown”; usually skyscrapers and historical buildings, which then scales back to stadiums around the edges, wastelands and areas that are being redeveloped. You continue onto another “suburb” which has medium height high residential buildings, and university buildings. Then you slowly start to add low residential along the road.

Great video. One thing you did a great job of showing but didn't talk about was the way you set up your main/collector roads, which is infinitely important to a successful city. A lot of people will make the mistake of not having a clear road hierarchy which can lead to traffic jams and other problems, besides not being realistic. This usually appears as having chopped up downtown roads that only cover short distances with many close intersections. By building long collector roads with slip lanes and good intersections/roundabouts serving neighborhoods as you did, folks will enjoy much better traffic flow and service access!

Awesome to have someone like you do a vanilla series. While i do think the modded cities look amazing, I have absolutely no desire to mod my game to that extent (nor the computer to do it). I also dislike the traffic management mods as they create infinite amounts of problems every update and once a city is designed with a dependency on any mod it is simply a matter of time before that city is doomed. I've learned how to play the game in its vanilla form after the last few updates disabled mods that i was using and i'm grateful for it. I can actually design a city that functions on its own at any capacity rather than relying on a fragile mod to keep everything running. Now i just use workflow mods that can't ever affect my save games (like MoveIt)

With road anarchy on, you can force the clipping "non-bridges" (6:23) to be elevated bits from the get-go using the upgrade tool and the "force elevated" in road anarchy (arrow up), instead of going through all the bother of upgrading them to another road type and then back to the right one. I would recommend Traffic Manager. I have it for a few month and I haven't touched the "advanced stuff" which would be timed traffic lights, and simply use lane connector and turn arrows to keep traffic turn where you want them. As you can see at 10:00 with mr.cop being a drunkard (but really tho they'r turds, cutting lanes and doing weird stuff in highway.) There's also junction restriction that can ban pedestrian crossing (per side) and allow traffic to enter blocked junction which can be really useful. NExt 2 also has pedestrian streets but those don't block cars out of the box and you need Traffic Manager's vehicle restriction tool to do it, just be sure to allow emergency and garbage services.

Industry should be near a major road or highway to allow easy access to commercial buildings, or more importantly outside the city. Same goes for offices. Low density commercial (local shops) should be near residential so citizens don’t have to travel too far. High density commercial (large retailers, malls, etc) should be both near a major road or highway AND a residential area. Residential should be a healthy distance away from pollution (e.g. industry, sewage outlets), and near a commercial area. You can put them near a highway, but make sure they are easily connectable to a main road with access to the highway. In larger residential areas it may be necessary to have a main road go through a residential area, just make sure it isn’t TOO major of a road. What I mean by that is don’t force all your traffic through said residential area. BONUS TIP: Put commercial areas inside residential areas. This gives off that “corner store” vibe, rather than that “get in the car, the nearest store is 30 kilometers away” vibe.

Nice Video wie immer . Hat die Serie festgelegte Uploads zb. Wöchentlich oder kommt die wie California? Schade eigentlich das das parklife dlc die Serie beendet hat.
