To be fair jeeps are very expensive now too and covered in plastic. Fanatics are just more aggressive about engineering replacements for the Jeep. Same is true about every Tacoma since the 90s. It’s really about the aftermarket, and New Broncos are too niche and too new. If they don’t build up a bunch of interest in off roading, it’s gonna stay niche.

We had one in the shop a few weeks back, impact on the RR tire, didn't even damage the rim. Bent the rear axle housing and the Panhard bar. You could SEE the camber on the RR wheel due to the bent axle housing, and the whole axle assembly was displaced an inch and a half to the left due to the pretzeled Panhard bar. Plus, the immense inertia of the huge beadlock wheel/tire combo hanging on the rear gate bent the body shell where the gate hinges attach. Offroad vehicle, eh? Nah, just a lookit-me!!! mall-crawler.

It's like the side by sides people dump crazy money into for them to still break all the time. For the money spent could just end up with an offroad buggy or a much more purpose built rig.

The last Bronco worth purchasing was built in 1996. If you buy one of these new Broncos, you need to take a cutting Torch to the suspension components. And weld some old school axles underneath this thing to make it perform like the old ones. If it doesn't have axles underneath it, you should keep it on the pavement.

Good for her for being mellow. Can’t help but think they’re a bit of passive aggressive chauvinism rearing its head here. Nothing wrong with the vehicle. 4x4 drive is all the same. You can break stuff on a highboy too. Skill goes a long way. But these trails are riddled with idiots on both sides. Folks who don’t know what they’re doing. And those who think they do and judge everyone else.

should have filled the dirt holes the front tires made with dirt before pulling the Bronco forward instead of the Bronco slamming down on its own tailpipe. Don't really need a tow truck in this situation, when high centered put a floor jack under front side of car, Use some compact dirt or sturdy ply wood/wood block under the floor jack and the jack up the front side of car. Shovel some dirt under each front tire and pack it down. Lower down car with floor jack and repeat process until most the weight is shifted to rear tires and enough weight on front tires to push itself back and center of car is completely off ground, put it in reverse and make sure nobody is behind you lightly give it some gas and voila! I have high centered many times in my car off roading and snow, it works every time, just a bit of patience.

It seems to be true for the raptor also. Both vehicles are very good looking, But they seem to be very gimmicky. The raptor comes with upgraded off road suspension, But in order to be a capable off road vehicle you have to upgrade the suspension. 😂 That being said a stock raptor would have more suspension than I would ever use.

If you go off roading on rough trails bring 1 or 2 high lift Jack, a shovel, and a come along. Along with a few 20 foot strong straps and a 100 foot rope. Self recovery takes longer when you really dig yourself deep stuck. It’s easy and quicker when you don’t dig your tires so deep… Bring those items and you won’t need to call a recovery truck.

All well and good, as I consider those self extraction tools essential and basic. In this case though, we are dealing with broken steering parts rendering those basic items more or less useless. You might be able to get it off it's high center but without steering you are going nowhere.

Had a fancy cherokee circa 1992. Never bought it to off-road hard core. Just to getme through northern ice and snow. Road over a good size buck at about 70 miles an hour on the highway, made an awful noise and might have gotten a tiny bit of air. She bounced for sure. Pulled over and the skids plates saved everything, never even tore off the muffler. Lots of fur and blood but I drove away.

First if that remark, 'it's not a jeep" implies Jeeps cannot break parts, the guy is either drunk, has not idea what he is talking about or just really not intelligent in off-roading. Many Heepers carry a great supply of parts that can and sometimes break, as well as those who own Broncos, Tacos. etc. A broken tie rod is NOT hard to replace and get the vehicle moving....just make sure to get an alignment before a lot of highway driving. And if a Hummer hater, explain Tacos (aka Tacoma), Frontiers and others with independent front suspensions that also can keep up with Jeeps on any trail I have been on after seven years in Moab UT. Yes a solid front axle is nice, but it all comes down to the driver and in many cases the spotter.

While Ford blew it with the weak tie rod end the heep people crack me up. Apparently the ball joints giving up on them for many years. The class action lawsuit for issues. Better yet, put in a chev motor, trans and drive train then claim they own a heep. There is a reason there are so many after market parts for them. And no, it's not because they are so popular. Reminds me of Harley riders. All manufacturers have good and bad points. Standing around like a bunch of little kids mocking someone is just sad.

Folks with the bronco’s…. Do the upgrades to the front end before you take it off pavement, they don’t completely eliminate the piss poor design issue but they do make it slightly more reliable… that or just carry the parts and tools to replace everything about every 100 yards or so.

As for what brand, you are correct they all suck, doesn’t matter make model or quality anything manufactured since 2004 ish is designed to fail. I'm not seeing any vehicle in the video with a tire smaller than 37in and a wheel base longer than 110in in the whole video. All look to be built out on bigger axles like dana 60s. That's a stock Bronco Badlands on 32.7in tires with a wheel base of 116in. Simply put, at one time, that trail might have been fine for that Bronco. Once short wheel bases on 37s became the normal mixed with a heavy foot on the accelerator... good luck. I remember when 35s were considered a big tire. Now Dana 60s are the new Dana 44s, 40in tires are the new 35s and 37s are the new 33s. Trails we used to drive on 30s became almost impassable no matter how skilled the driver or how selective of lines. Big axles and tires compensate for lack of skill, and the trails get torn up. Bone stock pre-production 2021 Broncos did the Rubicon trail with novice drivers and a professional spotter. Here with this group and this driver? No stock vehicle would stand a chance.
