I am close to finishing a new build myself. You are spot on! As the owner I have been sweeping my new build every weekend and every step of the way. Its insane the amount of dust and debris I have removed. People wonder why their homes are forever dusty. Its because its never done in the first place. Notice this woman says a 3 step process. I wish you were near me, because I could use your expertise and care for sure! In short, unless you have a professional like this woman, you best do it yourself. Because no one! will do it like you do it.

Hi Kym, i’m a housekeeper and run my own business for the past two years and I have a post construction cleanup to do this evening and just thought I would look through some videos on KZfaq. Maybe I can find a new technique or just get a refresher on what to do to clean an empty house in this condition. I came across your video, and just hearing your story and the positive affirmations throughout your video actually help me get through this day. I just left a 16 year relationship which I was mentally and verbally abused about two months ago and I’ve been struggling to get back on my feet ever cents. I’ve slept in my car, I’ve made a negative impact on the relationship with my two teenage boys because I left home. Everything has fallen apart and it’s been a struggle getting things back together but I just wanted to thank you for your video.

Thank you for showing this. I used to help my family clean up after new builds sometimes, but as my husband and I are moving out of an old apartment into a brand new one, we're realizing that a lot of the initial cleaning there is probably going to fall on us. Whoever gets that place after your work is very blessed! It was helpful to be reminded of what all I need to plan to do in our new place. I noticed that there are heaps of drywall dust in the water heater and HVAC closet. ...I know my husband really wants to keep costs down because we're already planning on buying a new dryer and vacuum and a few other big ticket items... But I am not sure how I'm going to tackle those dust dunes. If we get a nice vacuum for our regular home use, I'm pretty sure that dust will destroy it. I don't know if it's worth it to buy a shop vac just for this one clean? I've even considered buying a crummy little Dirt Devil and just expecting to have to junk it at the end although I don't love that idea both for the lack of a good filter in there, and because it seems wasteful. I guess my final option is a dust pan and hand brush. (I will be wearing a good mask, regardless, because I have frustratingly fragile lungs.) Do you have thoughts or suggestions about whether to get a specific vacuum for tackling this construction dust, and if so, what kind? I appreciate you providing a place to try to figure this out; it's been swirling through my brain all day and driving me crazy! Thanks again for this encouraging video! 🎉
