I am French and I have seen peau d'âne several times, it is inspired from a French fairytale. It is categorized as a musical with a 60's pop esthetic. I agree that the ending is quite weird. If you liked it you might enjoy the 1946 la Belle et la Bête from Cocteau that has the same whimsical fairytale feel, but less songs and in black and white.

@@PlantBasedBride It is different from the Disney version, but it is still quite good given how old it is and the actor who plays the king in Peau d'Ane also played in it. It might be hard to find though!

A lot of adhd people say they need all the decorations to keep them using a planner, but I go to the other extreme where mine is just using fancy writing for headers and line thickness of any functional, drawn out grids. The decorations distract me. They are pretty to watch, and I could land in hyper focus so easily doing it. But then nothing gets done except that, and each time I look at it, I get sucked back into the decorations instead of planning. I was diagnosed about 1 1/2 years ago, and it has explained so many things I have always done. I think I binge watched almost all of How to ADHD's videos after the diagnosis. I am still unmedicated and working through other coping strategies to assist since I react weird to medicine a lot. (I would gladly try meds faster if not for my reactions.) So I wish you good luck in finding what works for you even if it takes some time. It is certainly worth it.

I’m definitely one of those people who needs the creative artistic side to keep me going with it, but I completely get why it wouldn’t work for a lot of people! I’m trying medication but it’s definitely a journey. I’m starting to incorporate different coping strategies and trying to figure out what works but there’s a lot of trial and error lol 😂 thank you for the encouraging words! ❤️

This is so cute and functional! I've been a bullet journaler for the past 4 years but recently got into filling it out every day. I only use a monthly overview spread + weekly spreads and have been looking for new things to incorporate. I'll definitely be using the dopamine menu and future log setup!!!!! I hope the next 6 months look like the 💝💃 emojis as I try to become more socially outgoing!

☮ I use a quarterly future log and I've been using your dutch door weekly with a task list and weekly habit tracker on the far right panel that I saw on one of your old videos. It's worked well for me this last year, but I am noticing I'm ready for the next iteration. I don't know if I want to go so far as to cut my pages to create a monthly block like you do (though I love it!). I'm on the lookout something simple and effective that will work for me as my life and planning needs continue to change.

I can foresee needing 2 per year going forward though, I'm having such fun with it! (Also probably a seperate reading journal next year too) As for an emoji to represent how I want the second half to go, as this year so far has been not great, so I don't want to tempt fate but a more peaceful few months would be good 🕊

The best advice I can give for someone like myself with ADHD is have a schedule of events during your day. I also have reminders on my phone and I have an alexa it is a wonderful tool I have it set up to go off every hour to remind me of what time of day it is so the day doesnt slip away and I wonder where did all my time go.. It might sound annoying Let me tell ya this thing has saved my life I have a set schedule I have a list of things that need to be done in the allotted time than I usually have time inbetween those times to do the fun things that one can do to keep me happy.. anyway I hope that helps... just remember that you are exactly where you need to be and dont just do something stand there ... take care

I want to set up a journal with multiple flip outs, one would have the shift work calendars we use at my facility. Another would have common reference numbers/codes. Another would have our routine check in schedule and key dates. I currently have them in sections but it would be so much better as a tip in/fold out. Just haven’t quite figured out how to organize that many.

I like your menu. I might add it to the thing I’m trying. “Windows of open or closed” for when I am not getting good with work. Don’t snack if it is 1h around food time. As I tend to snack 30min before lunch and then I remember I “I should be hungry” Plus windows when it would be good to do a walk or house work. Not run off to them when I just don’t want to do the work.

I’ve recently added got medicine log key on a tip out page. As I’m in a A5 note book if I want to do anything fun on the top or bottom I run out of room on my tracking page (and i really don’t want to get the drugs mixed up) so the key being a fold out page is super useful. On a similar vain my long term medication, appointments tracker and conditions timeline are a must have in my bujo to make doctors appointments as productive as possible

I am def gonna use the waiting on page. There is one delivery company that always delay the packages and sents notifications about it like an hour before it is suppose to arrive and give a new time or date so you can never trust them. I just always forgets which company it is and this would help me get an overview so I can pick another if option is available. Some times I would rather pay a little extra to know it will arrive on time. Thank you for sharing so generously.

@@PlantBasedBride they are children’s fairy tale. At least the version I read way back when. But Puss in the boot’s (Chat botté), Little Red Riding hood (Le petit chaperon rouge), Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty they are all Perrault’s tales. My favorite of him was Barbe Bleu where a woman marry a man and find that he killed his previous wife’s. She’s able to escape. It was a nail bitter for me (terrified 8 years old😁). You can have a book that comprise most of his tales “Les conte de Perreault”. I had version with nice drawings. I think I need to go shopping for it. I’m feeling nostalgic. I was not understanding why you said the ending of Peau d’Âne left you perplex. I had to Google it and I have no memory of that ending! Might have missed it but in my defence I saw that movie in around 1978…. It’s been a minute.

I don’t have adhd but I feel like I could definitely benefit from the dopamine menu. Honestly I may make a serotonin menu as well. I feel like I’m always in a neurotransmitter deficiency 😂.

I was watching Dr. David Amen, brain expert. He mentioned one of his patients with ADD who eliminated eggs and gluten and was much better a week later. One thing about grains that most people don't know is that farmers use Roundup weed killer in the harvesting process... even in "organic" grains... It's not required for farmers to report it's usage because it's an industry standard. I know you live in Canada, but research how much grain is imported from the USA and other countries... It's a lot. Cheerios has the highest amount of RoundUp in this cereal than any other food! It's most grains wheat, oats, barley, rye... that are harvested with RoundUp. Some rice (from China?) is loaded with arsenic 😢. 💖🌞🌵😷

This is beautiful, as always!! I just got to start a new bullet journal, too, and I always get excited lol I used to try to put all kinds of things in my new bujo set up, but now I do some stickers on the inside cover, a collage on the first pages (that a lot of people glue together), and a future log. For a couple of journals, that's all I had. But this year, I decided, instead of putting my 1 on 1 notes for work down on the weeks I meet with my manager, I left a couple pages at the beginning so I can have them all in one place. (That's been working out very well!) And, instead of randomly jotting down quotes/song lyrics/whatever, just whenever I hear them, I left space for that at the beginning, too. (I used that one so much in my first bujo this year that I ended up having to use a bunch of sticky notes to keep adding things lol). tl;dr I have a collage and 3 spreads at the beginning of my bullet journal 😂😂 and I hope the rest of this year is 🤩🤣🥳🖤🏴‍☠️🌶

It is the first video of you that I am watching and it’s very nice ! Clearly it was funny for me to see you watching « Peau d’âne » as it’s my mum’s fave movie and her name is Elisabeth 🤣 Bon courage pour apprendre le français ! Si tu comprends déjà ce film, tu as un bon niveau ☺️

I'm really fan of this new setup and the ways you used the flap! That's really cool❤ and good luck with your French learning! Ce n'est pas la langue la plus facile du monde, mais je suis sûre que vous vous en sortirez très bien =)

Merci! It’s less learning and more re-familiarizing myself with the language, since I started learning in grade one when I started French immersion school ❤️ it’s just been over a decade since I spoke French regularly and all the connections are rusty haha

@@PlantBasedBridei totally get it. Dutch was the same for me. A huge part of my family is speaking it, but as i went in France to do my master and phd degree, i kind of lost it after eight years 😂

I'm french and I grew up loving Peau d'âne, mostly for the songs, but I rewatched it recently and errr yeah the story is "a tad" disturbing 😅... Still love the songs though (fun fact, the french pastry chef of Dalloyau tried making the cake and the recipe in the song doesn't work 😂 he did reinvent it though if you want to try it is somewhere on the internet )

It helps if you think of the story as a mashup of classic fairy tales : Snow White (prettiest in all the land), Cinderella (a ring so small it fits no one), Golden Goose (donkey who gives gold and jewels)... The original stories were kinda creepy as well
