Lester, here are my thoughts; Journey is a special needs animal, she’s a little slower and I see her more like a porch goat and she relates very well with you folks. I’m afraid that Petunia might hurt her without meaning to being blind. Why not build Journeys space in the yard!?! I see her sharing the yard with some gentle dogs and cats and with all the humans visit. Pig Newton should soon compete with Trudie. Leave her in the yard to listen to those birds, listen to any activities she might try like nibble on those green leaves and eventually figure out her best peaceful life. I love how she’s thrive since getting to IMA and I love her to the moon and back ❤️🐏🥰😉💕❤️❤️❤️❤️

Excuse me, this imagination may "way too far out". 1) Get a Tuff Shed & build an enclosed run/yard with shade. Set it along side at a safe distance from infections of the Littles fence/pasture. 2) Get a puppy/companion for Journey to imprint. Like a Border Collie, Australian Shepherd or Queensland Heeler. Living side by side 24/7. 3) That working/herding breed of dog would also serve several purposes on the farm for you, in herding the Littles & more (And fending off predators maybe.) (A barnyard dog just like your barnyard cats) I don't know? This idea might be just too far out? 🤔

All rabbits are frigle, even the giant breeds. Should Journey step, head butt, or fall on one, the rabbit could be hurt or killed. Also, Journey is getting her horns in and those alone could kill a rabbit. Rabbits are considered to be prey animals, thus, they might not like being with a goat that is big and has "jerky" movements. It would also take a lot of work to fix any area up so that a rabbit does not dig or chew their way out of the designated area. I'd hate to see the new barn that Lester and Fidel built get chewed and scratched up.

Lester, nice video explaining the future. However, Journey needs to have a companion animal that is higher functioning than Petunia. One that she can learn from and be active with. As a parent of a special needs child, you try high and adjust. You need to stimulate her little brain and muscles. She’ll stagnate with Petunia. Also, what if they cuddle and petunia rolls and Journey can’t get out of the way. Perhaps pick the runt of your litter and put them together. Maybe Journey will momma it. How about a baby pigmy goat? I don’t know animals that much more about the needs of specials needs and belonging and keeping them stimulated to their ability. They will also try to dig their way out from any enclosure.

@msjelly19873 жыл бұрын
I LOVE how much time, effort, research, companionship and love you are giving to Journey. I wish there were more people like the Morrow Family in this world. If I may add in my own 2 cents of advice. I think it may be a good idea to think what may happen if Pig Newton did a Tiny Tim and decided he wanted to be out in the Littles Pasture. Also Journey had only really been around 2 baby goats in the nursery for a short time. So she may think she is more of a piglet than a goat kid. I think it may be a good option for Journey to be housed with some Pygmy or Nigerian goats (preferably Polled for Journey's safety) as they are smaller. Plus they can teach her how to eat and socialise as a pair. If you have any Does/Nanny's having kids anytime soon it may be a nice idea for you to put Journey back into the nursery and see if she has a connection with any of the kids. It would be preferable to have a doe as Journey's companion just because you defiantly don't want any 'accidents' or any Ringo head knocks. I love that she is able to be out in the side yard, its close to your house, yet she can be outside more often now too. Regarding predators that you have to deal with... Just like myself who lives in Australia, with the exception for venomous snakes, the predators in Texas are usually all nocturnal. So it may be a good idea to have her housed at night somewhere safe. Because unfortunately she can't escape as quickly as the other littles/goats. Im wondering if there is any vitamin boosts that the vet can give her to help with her low immune system? I know that Vitamin B oral gel helps goats appetite, digestion and energy levels. So that may be a helpful preventative vitamin just to help Journey now that she is weaning off the milk and onto a plant based diet. With my rescue and therapy animals I have a monthly calendar/diary that I have on my wall which has the name or type of animal under the date which specific vaccinations, supplements, treatments or vet visits are due (example: my dogs Heartworm treatment is the 1st of every month. OR, Every Friday my chickens and their nests with the lice treatment). It has helped me hugely in the preventative health of my animals. Especially since I suffer from Fibromyalgia and other illnesses that cause brain fogs, memory loss, chronic pain/fatigue, and sometimes I have to go into hospital, so I know that I need not worry about the health of my animals as there is already a care guide for my family who care for my animals when I'm away. I really hope this helps you out. I have been watching these videos for years and I love waking up and watching Lester on this channel or Jamie on From Suits 2 Boots or LE on Flipflop Farmer. The Bigs, Littles and the Morrow family brings me so much joy. You are all amazing and such a kind, loving and funny bunch. Sending all my love Janelle (Warrandyte, Australia)

Good evening Lester I really enjoyed the video. Journey and 🐷 Newton are really enjoying the side yard and they both look good. I completely understand that they have to be separated, I've been waiting for you guys to figure out when the time was right to make the transition. Journey will adjust after a while but I'm sure it will be tough for several weeks. Hopefully as the new babies are born it will ease her some. I'm not sure about putting her in with Petunia only because since Petunia can't see or hear she might accidentally lay or roll on Journey. Also the chickens and some other animals come to see Petunia and they can carry nasty bug's and germs to her. Maybe I am being a worry wart for nothing. You and Jami will know what is best for her as always and I will enjoy every video of her new home. Much love to you all from Arkansas.

As much a Journey needs to live her best life, pig Newton need to live his also, and that means wallowing and being with the other littles and having more space to roam

It would be nice if Journey could have some pasture instead of the rocks in the garden especially for her pressure sores...
@irlenalaurie12823 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. I cringe every time to see her drag through rocks and also lay in it. Maybe they will plant more grass in that area.

I think Journey is too active to be around Petunia. Petunia could really hurt Journey, not intentionally , but I wouldn’t want to take that chance since Journey has her own disabilities and is frail. I pray that there is another solution for Journey’s safety. I’m already having anxiety over something happening to Journey, she has my heart ❤️. 🥰😉

Hi Kiwi, this is Lou. I am sure Lester and Jami will watch them closely before they just put her with Petunia.

@@ImaSurvivorSanctuary I know Lester and Jami love their animals and they both are awesome. Journey is very humanized and loves the human interaction with them. She’s a special little goat and has stolen everyone’s heart. Petunia just wouldn’t be a good match for Journey but more of a detriment. Thank you for your reply. My prayers are with them. 🙏🥰💖

I am as Tore on this Subject as I know you all are. I’m not sure as what to do. I do worry Petunia won’t much care for a Baby Goat wanting to be Laying with her. Now idk maybe she would tolerate it. I know whatever you all will choose will be in everyone’s best interest. 🙏🏼❤️😘

I think goats can eat anything safely, but tomatoes are actually a berry that grows on a poisonous vine. Maybe we should make sure eating tomato plants is safe?

I Just wanted to say that I think you guys do such a wonderful job with all the challenges that you face. I do wonder about journey being with petunia. Two of the main reasons I think Journey is getting around so much better is because she has the love and support of you guys and she also has the activity around her with Pig Newton and the chicks . So I worry about lack of activity which may affect her physically and mentally if she is with Petunia. Congratulations for the wonderful job and all the love these babies have.

My main worry which I thought about when L E did his video as well is petunia accidentally lying on journey. I'm also not sure she would get the stimulation that she needs And gets with pig newton. One possibility would be to maybe have one of the baby goats (when they arrive) as a bottle baby and keep with journey.

I’m reading all the comments about Petunia laying on Journey. Journey is not blind and I feel is quick enough to move away. Also pigs usually spend time prepping their beds. Petunia could be the Journey. Prayers and Love to Team JP. Can’t wait to see the J&P Palace.

I’m absolutely confident that you as a family will do your absolute best for Journey and however you deal with her companionship, Moving in with Petunia will be a bit like moving into Granny’s home for journey but she’ll be ok there I should think at least she won’t be alone at night and that’s very important for her, As for journey not nibbling at the Greens give her time she will try weaning her now she’ll eventually get the message and start at least sniffing at the greens then she’ll have a lightbulb moment and you’ll not be able to stop her she’s a Goat after all and you know what they are like, Keep doing what you are doing and you can’t go wrong.

Oh Lester, I don't know about putting her with Petunia. You said Petunia can leave the area she's in but mostly chooses to stay where she is. Some of us gals just enjoy being alone. I know lil Journey needs a friend though. You guys are so wonderful💕

Lester... so glad you all are thinking ahead for Miss Journey. Wonder how much socializing she would get being with a pig who sleeps all day? She may go searching for a friend and end up not so safe... You talked one time about de-horning Journey? Noticed her little horn buds growing. Know you all will give much love and concern for Miss Journey...❤️

You can get large puppy pens that can be placed anywhere so in good weather days you could put it in the middle of the littles area, she could happily watch everyone then you will soon see who wants to be near and interact with her, let nature guide you 💓
