I changed my 2ss oil at 750. The oil was clean but when I cut open the filter a good amount of sparkles were on the dirty side. Glad I changed it, engine sounded better too. In a recent video I think it was on SavageGeese a GM engineer said the silicone sealers can cause foaming in the oil, so that's a reason for an early change. Did the differential at 1500 and it looked new with little material on the magnet.

Good to hear! Funny enough i just saw that savage geese video last night lol and yes your correct about the sealers. From a GM mechanic I know he said diffs can have a lot of contaminants and some dont. Just kinda depends. This one did have a fair amount but nothing out of the ordinary. Glad tour taking care of your ride nice and early. Enjoy it!

@@Hot-1LE Let me ask you this fella, are people still able to order a new ZL1? I have been checking the used market and folks want 68-72k for a car that has 10k miles on it. A brand new one stickers in that range. Doesn’t make much sense for me to buy used if what I am seeing is accurate and I can go find a new one with the spec I like. What are your thoughts? Great video! Curious though where did you see differential at 500 miles. I had 1500 marked for that and the track prep doesnt even mention it. I was just told 1500 by a gm tech. So far I'm at 900 miles and have done 2 oil changes already one at 250 and one at 800 because they were 6 months apart. I've done it by the book as you described on my 2ss 1le though. Other then the 80 mph rule. On Phoenix highways your getting passed only doing 80 so I've hit 90's without even noticing just keeping flow in the left lane. That was never going to happen lol

Good job bro! Actually your right, the manuals say first at 1500 miles, then after your first track day! ok I'm being a little over the top with it at 600 miles, but itll get another at 1500 and then be done for a bit or depending on my track use. Sounds like your barely driving it haha, I love how people keep the miles off these. Mines the same way, most of the miles was the drive home.

Let the clutch break in so no hard high rpm shifts if you can control that lol. When you get it do light braking no hard stops. Drive it for a few miles light braking and then go get something to eat so the rotors can cool down so you get proper bedding of the brakes. Aside from that you should be fine man! I went over 80 a few times. It happens engine wont blow up lol. Just take it a bit easy stay under 4k rpm if ya can and just enjoy it bro. Congrats again. Hard cars to find.

Break it in hard, don’t drag it out, if there’s a weak link go ahead and break it get it out of the way while it has warranty, I was a heavy equipment tech for CAT we’d put in a brand new engine in dump truck or whatever and take it out and run the piss out of it

Awesome congrats! You can double check the high performance manual supplement. But yes oil 500 and 1500. Diff is cheap and easy to do so might as well do it at both as well. Or diff at 1500 and after first track day

I dont run one myself. You gotta lift the s/c to install it and GM could blame that for warranty engine repairs so I dont. In some more miles when i tune I probably will.

Hey man, I’m a brand new Camaro 2ss owner and had a couple of questions: 1) I’ve noticed when daily driving I can hear rocks kicking up under the car more than my previous vehicles. Is this normal? 2) Did you get PPF for your Camaro? I can’t decide for mine, it’s so expensive… Thanks!
@Hot-1LE
@Hot-1LE Жыл бұрын
Hey bro. 1. Yup its in part with the stickier tiers/wider tiress and just the design of the car body. Get some rock guards. I suggest acs composite but they are kinda pricey and there is other brands. 2. Ppf getting installed on this car next week. Yes i suggest it. The paint on these cars gets pretty beat up.

@@Hot-1LE Awesome, thanks! I also had another question. I know we aren’t supposed to go above 4k rpm during break in (manual says for 1,500 miles), and yesterday when I was driving (I’m at 700 miles now) I had my arm resting right behind the shifter and accidentally click the mode changer button while driving. It went from tour to sport to track all while I was slowing down and RPM’s hit 4.5k for about 10 seconds, do you think I should be concerned?

Can you not take it back to the dealer for this oil change under the first year free oil change service with a new purchase?
@Hot-1LE
@Hot-1LE Жыл бұрын
I could. I dont trust the dealers to touch the car. In my 1ss 1le the dealer put 15w50 oil in it. It takes 0w40. Drove it home and dumped the oil and did it myself. At this point its easy reassurance for me to just pay myself.

Anybody here think it's a very stupid idea to stop production of the Camaro in January 2024. When there's not going to be any challengers And chargers made that year and the Dark horse is going to be marked up big time And twenty twenty four will be back to m s r p price range cause mark UPS are already disappearing and will be gone completely by twenty twenty four Except for the dark horse are any others limited production
