If you’re reading this in KZfaq studio or just in the comments. I just want to say thank you for making the movie reviews. I remember watching them when I was 10 years old and it’s crazy that I’m 18 graduating high school. You definitely made my childhood when watching KZfaq

Definitely a good move the KZfaq algorithm has been ignoring a lot of smaller channels in recent years from what I've seen. I only ever discover new stuff when I stumble across it while searching for something else. There are a lot of brilliant creators out there that aren't getting the attention they deserve.

Sounds like we're going back to the early 2010s where having multiple channels is better than keeping everyone on the same channel. First thought of Tobuscus when he had a gaming channel, vlog channel, personal channel and probably a couple of more, then I remembered how basically every popular KZfaqr in the 2010s starting making gaming & vlogging channels. Stopped watching Tobuscus years ago so I don't know if he still uploads to multiple channels or not but anyways hopefully this helps improve the watchtime and click-rates. I've subscribed to the new channel, might not interact with the reuploads but will be watching the new skits whenever they release. If you haven't thought about it already, I suggest seeing how the new channel performs before making more channels for the other types of content. See if your theory is proven right before completely separating your audience.

It pains me to hear your reviews didn't do well, because they're the very reason I subscribed. I still pull them up from time to time and even listen to them sometimes while I'm working, just because they're so iconic and engrossing. I treasure all of them, and always will.

It's definitely a good idea to move the skits to their own channel. They're absolutely great, but it's certainly true that the algorithm just does not care for them here. I've seen it plenty of times. The algorithm just does not care for variety channels. Good luck with this new venture, and I hope the new channel can bring in the success you want to see from it. And deserve from it.

your movie reviews are unique because not only you tell us whats wrong with a scene you also show us that and also how to fix it,you also make them funny and i feel like you are the only youtuber who does these types of movie reviews. For me i find these funny and enjoyable to watch

I came to this channel via Star Wars trailers done in the style of GOTG, and subbed from their. Your right about your eclectic video production, some stuff i love, some not so much and some never really appealed to me so I would skip it, just as you said. It’s kind of a good thing when it connects, you never really know what your gonna get from upload to upload, but your right in that it can’t be good for the almighty algorithm, “That one, he’s not making just the one thing, which is hard to advertise, banish him to that shadowed bench over there!” I can’t imagine running multiple youtube channels is going to be easy, but that you want to push for it instead of abandoning us for TikTok is greatly appreciated and I have seen other KZfaqrs try this very thing so it’s not like your leaping into the complete unknown. Honestly in terms of originality, some of my favourite videos of yours is when you talk about movie related topics you have strong opinions on. A perfect example was your video on how cinemas suck. That video is totally hilarious, and you make such great points in it. I have no idea how well those videos do view wise and monetisation wise, but I'd love to see more of those.

Honestly I don’t say it enough but you’r perhaps the best KZfaqr / best creative across all platforms and definitely my favorite. I dont comment a lot but I watch every upload. The longer vids I save for when I have time but they are always a delight to watch.

I am sorry things were not working out with the movie reviews, but I personally loved them! They were some of my favorite KZfaq videos to watch (and I watch a lot lol). I have seen some of your movie and game reviews all the way through more than 5 times. I understand if it is something you can't get traction on, but I thought it was an awesome and unique idea that I really enjoyed!

I definitely think this is a good idea. It's great that you do lots of things since it shows your creativity, but KZfaq-wise, when there's so much different stuff I sometimes miss it in my sub box since I don't realise it's something from you. I have another theory about the green screen skits, they're definitely one of the best things you do cause they're so well edited, but maybe one other thing is that they were those funny bits of the movie reviews that were there for the laugh and they might've worked better since they had more context with a joke you'd previously make? I don't know just a theory, either way I think having a shorts channel is a great idea, hopefully it'll make KZfaq recommend them more. Keep up the great stuff man! 😁

I love the skits so this is a dream come true!

I subscribed to this channel after one of your trailer style mashups (I believe it was Star Wars in the style of GOTG) was used at my local community college to illustrate editing style in trailers. I've enjoyed the greenscreen clips I've seen, but I definitely think you've got an audience that have come to the channel for a range of reasons.

Yeah, Everything I've heard about the algorithm says that splitting content into separate, focused channels helps get the content recommended more easily, so totally understandable

I'd say just do whatever you feel like doing and don't worry so much about the crowd. Your work definitely has quality to it, so I believe as long as you do what you love you'll find an audience who your stuff appeals to that will come and stick around through thick or thin because you're worth that. It may be a niche audience compared to the mass-appeal of giant channels, but if it is a solid one willing to patiently wait for months for the next video I'd argue it's worth it. For my part I'm in the crowd who are almost exclusively here for the reviews, with the occasional dipping into actor trivia once a blue moon if it strikes me (though I prefer to read trivia than to listen to it, so I'm biased against the videos). I probably won't subscribe to the green screen skits cuz it's not what I'm here for, but as long as there is the occasional review at least once a year, then I think the channel is worth it cuz your quality (including the skits you leave in the actual reviews) are that good. The big pro for me with this is that it'll be easier to find the content I'm actually interested in, though it's not like playlists don't exist and the option wasn't there before either.

Super interesting to learn about this. What you say makes a lot of sense. I've always been wondering why your content gets so few views. The quality of the videos you produce is amazing. I found you through the Power Rangers mashups, but stayed for the reviews. I think if you were to do movie reviews again, you MIGHT have a better chance reviewing something more... new. Now I'm not saying new as in it's literally just come out in theaters, haha no. I know you wanted to review the entire MCU (which would be awesome) but, if you reviewed No Way Home since it's the latest entry (that's on digital), maybe more people would be interested... as I imagine more people are talking, making content about that etc, maybe. As someone who’s watched a lot of Caddicarus videos over the years, I’d disagree a lot about how you do your reviews, Man. Personally speaking, they’re been his and Nostalgic Critic’s reviews done right. Whereas Caddy’s humor in reviews is more of a hit and miss and Critic’s relies on him blatantly showing you the things he’s referencing, you’re always on point with your skits and whatnot. And that’s always been one thing that I’d look forward to when your videos come out. Even those that I don’t agree with at all like the Movie Theater one.

I understand where you're coming from. Several other people whom I follow have said similar things. The need to stick to one kind of content per channel is absolute, because if you mix it up the algorithm will punish you hard. Regardless, subscribed to the new channel. Would love to see more of your stuff, regardless what channel it gets posted to.

You are not the first KZfaqr that has run into this problem. The way the algorithm works is that KZfaq channels have to be very focused on one subject. This didn't use to be the case and as a result older youtubers who have different types of videos get screwed. Starting a new channel is definitely the right move.

Wow, this explains SO MUCH. Honestly I was just as frustrated as you to see how low your view count was getting. I would constantly refresh your videos for weeks to no avail and it made me feel so bad because you put so much effort into them. Especially since other “but I’m in it” videos which are far more cringe-worthy and low-effort than yours have millions of views on KZfaq. I guess having a diverse a diverse array of videos wasn’t necessarily a good thing after all 😂

I’ve been watching you for years and you’ve been such an inspiration for me, especially with your actor breakdowns as before seeing that video I had a similar idea about Voice Actors in Cartoons and Games and seeing you make that video gave me the confidence to do it.

This is pretty cool, but I admit I will likely only watch the compilations, I prefer comedy in a bundle rather than in bits

A very logical approach. I love it all but agree some may find it overloaded. So to give them what is says on the tin so to speak will help them find exactly the content they want. I feel there are so many doing review vids that it has to be something to stand out from the crowd. Your humour is superbly knitted into your videos others are dryer that a Banther's sack. Also short is the new trend but that's how KZfaq started. It will pass but my logic is that not all of your future audiences have watched KZfaq so the Reddit high view is all fresh viewers to your superb videos. That's the litmus test. A new video sent the same day to all platforms, would be interesting to see the results over a day, week, month and three months🤔. It would be a fascinating study to see if one platform have a certain following to each type of video or favour just the one.

Suspect, question- do you think your channel maybe not being favoured in the algorithm as much has anything to do with when there were large breaks between videos when you mostly focused on movie reviews? The algorithm does tend to like consistency and less sporadic uploads, and if I remember correctly your channel would go some time without many uploads because of how focused you were on movie reviews. Do you think that had any impact on things? I’m really just spitballing here, honestly. Either way, I’ve been watching for almost ten years, so I’ll most definitely continue on with this channel and Suspect Green.

Understandable, Btw what are your thought on Hobbit trilogy? I really thought they are good. Sure it not lord of the rings epic style but I see good in them. The actors done a great job. Smaug is really fucking scary (in a good way).

Something I notice that's unfair to you is that youtube only ever seems to recommend comedy in the form of short videos. Long videos are only ever either more serious critiques or the typical negative stuff that comes surging in when a bad film comes out, like the absolute deluge of videos about how bad the last jedi and rise of skywalker were. Like looking at my homepage now, almost all of the videos from non-subscriptions that look like they're meant to be funny are under a minute long! That could be what killed the views on long, comedy videos like your reviews. Which is a real shame because the long, comedic format is easily my favourite.
