They sadly don't have Ollie's out here in California but my friend in Florida did tell me they have one in his neck of the woods. Wish I can tootle on over to it :3

I was going to say there aren't any of Ollies near me but it appears there is now one like 20 minutes away. Huh. I wouldn't mind getting some trades of Silver Age stuff at a good price. Trades have never been a big part of my collection. I have something like 20 long boxes and only 2 of them currently hold my entire TPBs and GNs.

Heath, i still say rewind, fast forward, and i always think how those terms are antiquated. Another funny aside. I work in a television station and we still have shelves of Beta and VHS tapes. We have Boy Scouts and other groups come tour the station and one time a little kid help up a VHS and asked ‘what is this?’ That made me feel so old, but also it made me smile, because his question was guileless and funny, but also because it made me remember how wonderful it was growing up with those tapes, and other childhood artifacts long passed.

I visited 4 out of 5 Ollie's in my area over the past week. Grabbed the Deadpool Classic (2 stores had it), which was a nice surprise and the Deadpool art book. 3 of the stores got in the Marvel Now Omnibus as well. Some new or rarer books I noticed: Guardians of the Galaxy Solo Classic Omnibus ($19.99), Ultimate Marvel Omnibus Vol 1 (only 1 of the stores had it), and Black Widow: Creating the Avenging Super-Spy Complete Comic History (2 stores had it, I can't find the receipt, but I think it was $6.99 like the Deadpool art book). Good deals! Happy hunting!

I have been collecting the 1950's EC Tales From the Crypt and Vault of Horror reprints since the early 90's, I just bought a few more on Ebay. I love the 50's artwork and story telling.

That's super-cool, Robert. I got to meet Al Feldstein at a convention in the aughts and tell him how much I appreciated his work. Now that he's gone, it means even more to me. Those comics are so much fun!

I just hit up my local Ollies yesterday for the first time since the pandemic started. I picked up the Deadpool classic Omnibus, and a Guardians of the Galaxy Solo Classic omnibus. 20$ a piece. Great finds.

Oh! No, honestly, I didn't, but I just went to check it out just now. Thanks for posting the video to that forum! I also see you posted my Captain America Vibranium Collection video back in July. Appreciate that too! Another KZfaqr named JTWOH always touches base with me on Instagram when he hears something about these drops, and that's how I knew to go check. If it's any consolation, now that I know what you found in this drop (the Deadpool, Ultimate, Droids & Ewoks and Guardians omnibuses), I'm super jealous. LOL. Especially since I know my stores will NOT be getting them and have put out everything they're going to get this time around.

I'm currently reading through marvell now deadpool and it has way more humor and references than classic one.

Both modern Deadpool and Harley Quinn over at DC have embraced meta in a way that I don't really understand. They constantly break the fourth wall, and it's gimmick over storytelling. And both books sell like crazy, so what do I know?

@@CerealAtMidnight yes Harley Quinn is very similar in that sense. I had hard time to start because of that but as an unexpirience reader I gave it a go and I quite like it. Maybe that's the reason? If you new to comics you don't know what to expect and those stories are simple. I also started Nightwing Better than Batman and I'm stuck in the middle. The tone is different and there are so many things linked to the previous stories it's hard for me to immerse.
