Nostalgic ! I was around 13 or 14 of age back then when playing this game. I used to play with a friend sitting side by side in front of the computer. We would discuss the strategy to complete a mission. Such childhood memories !

shame then because hd remaster is heavily censored they removed the swastika, censored burning enemies and even removed japans flag (wtf?) not even counting the bugs... and lets be honest hd remaster??bruuh this is more like a hd patch...a censored hd patch...fuckers killed my favorite game of all time.

This was the most accomplished RTS game back then. Brilliant graphics, challenging gameplay, amazing narrated videos, excellent voice actors, the authentic WW2 scenario details and everything. Really made me quicksave literally every minute in each playthrough because micro failure could prove fatal.

@@TrifectaMonkey he said that he printed out strategy, that does not mean he had internet. you can have a printer, a text editor like microsoftword and no internet and type a document and print it dude. what you assumed wrongly he got those strategies from internet. I didnt had internet either back then

@@TrifectaMonkey i made them, dude. myself. getting the strategy to mouth like a paraplegic who cant walk on his own feet and needs food to be brought up to his mouth in order to live the next day, thats not how you should be playing. stretch yourself and figure out for yourself, thats how you get the enjoyment from playing the game, not by searching the internet for food to be brought up to your mouth so you just open your mouth an eat. thats how i remember commandos to be a great game , because i tried and failed, and then tried and succeed eventually for most of the levels

That is one of the worst takes I have ever heard. Remakes bring back life into a game by rebuilding it beyond the limits of it's original hardware and trimming the flaws while still maintaining that spirit that everyone loved. Wouldn't you want new players to experience a game at it's best and not go through the things that held it back?

This is so nostalgic. The graphics of this game blew me away back in the day. It was in the era of Saga games , Aladdin, minesweeper and solitaire etc. It felt so advanced. After this I got hooked on red alert 2. These two games were dominating in the video game world back in the days.

I am true commandos 2 fan since 2002. I remember playing it back then. But ,i must admit that this HD Remaster is a ridiculous JOKE. Sligthly better graphics, this is just not it ,come on it's 2020! There are so many powerful engines out there (UnrealEngine etc.) ,you can make looking like Diablo IV or Dota 2 or even shadow tacticts blades of the shogun!! You won't get my money for this shit. Thumbs up so people can see this!!!

It was so hard for me when i was 5 years old. Anyways some tips for you: You don't need the Sapper to cut the barbed wires anybody from your squad can do it When there are allies in the mission you can get guns which have infinite ammo Sometimes the wine is more useful than a pack of cigs From the gun you can select the gun to pick p or just ammo to just get the ammo you need to press on the magazine or on the clip The Thief and Natasha cant tie up enemies You can press for example on a not deactivated mine, when he starts to deactivate it just press right click and it will be deactivated Only the driver can drive tanks When you have a bottle of wine in your inventory use a sleeping pill When the clock shows up save. its very important because alot of places are really hard to complete it without saving The sapper can use the rocket launcher and to place mines also bombs Use the X button so you can set up ambushes on corners for your enemies (it works well with machineguns best)also it will cover an area that it is in his field of view Yeah I still play this game to this day

@@salehalsheikh1586 Only once or twice. I played tons of RTS games growing up and finally came around to playing Blitzkrieg about a year or two ago. I didn't get into it, even though I've heard nothing but good things about it. Then again, that was also roughly the time I was starting to get into more wargame-ey games like Combat Mission and Close Combat.

Nostalgic omg my tears!!! My cousin installed this game in my computer cuz his parents won’t let him play game at home so he will just come over and play with my computer. I remember I was still in elementary school grade 4 or 5 playing this game in China, and my English at the time was not even good enough to understand what’s going on or what should I do in the game lol. So I just kept failing and dying, and sometime I need to use dictionary book to check the meaning of some key words hahah. I remember I spent like a week to figure it out and passed the first mission lol.

Ah.. That intro and menu music brings back memories... 14:42 : Alt + arrow left/right or lmb (I am not sure which one, been a long time :P). You can use auto shoot, select a gun press x or ctrl + rmb, commandos will auto shoot at enemies. 19:22 : press w to view what's inside the box/ look through keyholes, windows etc

Wow this brings back memories! Had so much fun playing this game and the voice acting brought about so many laughs and happiness! This is literally a piece of my childhood! lols, real childhood memories, ive been love using unlimited ammo rifle from died NPC alies on mission #2, then throwing grenade right to their window post, sometimes theres an unique strategy to get the job done faster. such lurking enemies to the ambush area, sneak into building throu a sewer, undercovering thief dude to steal enemies stuff, or placing trap right front of their doorways. seriously, this game is very cool coz u can try your various strategy in every mission after training scenario :D

The first one was really easy actually... Behind Enemey Lines me and my brother did the first 15 mission without any problems once we got used to mechanics... I still remember doing first or 9 missions without any problems... Our real challenge was the Butcher of Paris where you have to murder General Schiffer... The missions after 15th mission were really hard

That was one of the hardest games from my childhood. I remember that i killed every single nazi in the large naval base on mission 4 or 5, in the and you need to save a small dog in order to continue. I should give it a try now - great game, ageless classic.

This was a great game. I played this one straight through. You have to be very patient and always have backup positions for your guys/gals/dog In case things go south. Underrated in its time... IMO.

oh. my. god. the year was 2005, i had just had one of my teeth pulled due to a cavity, to cheer me up my mum bought me an ice-cream and said i could get any game i wanted under 10 bucks, because it was already a few years old at this point i found commandos 2 in the bargain bin. i couldnt get past the "night of the wolves" mission because i couldnt figure out how to get off the boat... but that didnt stop me from logging hundreds of hours into the game, i completed the first mission in probably every concievable way, i didnt even find the steil grenades till my tenth or more completion! so many memories of playing this on my chunky ass OG ps2

Damn "Commandos" is my childhood... this game and "Seven Kingdoms 2: The Frighen Wars" one of the first games i bought had a huge place at my childhood.

My fav tactic is...gather all the commandos near the door, trigger the alarm, and then...bang bang bang!!! all of them dead. spread the bodies all over the area as if it has been a big battle happen, and then leave the area to complete the mission. I love seeing german soldier dead bodies scattered all over the place. very satisfying.

One of the best game from my childhood. Looking at it today it's still a pretty complex game with great mechanics, good music, good animations. I'd still play it if i'd play on pc. We need a console port :)

When I was like 12 y.o. my big brother played this game and I was watching or just hanging around. The game seemed too complicated to me 😂

Nice. I played this game when it orginally released. It was alot of fun. Picking the right commandos for the right jobs was key. About all I remember. And, save and load alot.

Was a big fan of Commandos 1 ... The first RTS I played and never looked back... I remember drawing the Commandos insignia and it came out really good... I think I still have a folder somewhere where I traced a copy of insignia from my original drawing... Also Green Beret name is Jack O Hara and Sapper is Thomas (something)

People on Steam discussing that this will be a censored game, no nazi symbols from original game, even Japanese planes are censored for some reason. That's not how we remember this game :(

@Danny Williams We are all hoping that the censored flags (even Japans flag is gone??) and the weak burning animations are just due to this being Beta. No one wants to play a gimped game especially when you can play the original with restored Mods for the full effect. If legally they have to remove the Swat in Germany releases, I mean it sux but I can understand but really hoping they don't anywhere it isnt legally enforced. Would totally not understand the Japanese flag removal in anyway at all if that happens.

The sapper can pick up and then place down enemy mines again. Try picking up the mines and placing them at the gates on the fourth mission for maximum destruction.

I remember we played "Commandos" with friends in the late 90-s over the local network, I liked to play as a marine, he was a real badass :) You should also try the "Outfront" game, I'm not sure though if there were an English version, the game is developed by Best Way company and published by 1C, I remember I liked it even more than "Commandos"

Tip: you can attach the explosivs from the Sapper to the wire trap from the Drive, to create a tripwire.

This game is like a puzzle but doesnt seem like a puzzle. Its about timing, stealth, uniqueness of every unit and placement of unit. I always create a decoy so the germans will come and wait them with ctrl x to the expected enemy arrival

Yeah. Put it some tied german on a visible area and hide nearby. Wait while the enemy come and give em a whack job while they try to untied the germans.

That's a cool addition.. Being able to hog tie, pretty sure you couldn't hog tie in the original commandos 2. I remember the mission night of the wolves.. God how I wished I had a gun or a knife, which now being able to hog tie is going to make the mission a peice of cake.

You already could hogtie your enemies in commando’s 2:i just dont think you could do it with the Thief.so in night of the wolves you werent able to hogtie them.
