I think that Volduck is poison and electric as a reference to the unique abilities of real life platypus. Male platypus have venomous spurs on their back feet and all platypus have electro-receptors on their bill used to detect their prey.

I'm pretty sure that the florges convergent pokemon is meant to be a clown fish, it's surrounded by an anemone because clown fish have a symbiotic relationship with sea anemone. It might actually even be a combination of a clown fish and a sea horse.

I think Eauette comes from "Eau", pronounced "O", which is French for "Water" so "O-ette", like Floette without the "Fl".

Eau is actually "water" in French. Is pronounced like "Oh" so it would be "Oh" ette. Which goes better with floette I think

The convergent Lurantis made me think perhaps the Lurantis we know is actually a convergent form of an unrevealed bug Pokemon since it's a grass pokemon that is trying to look like a mantis which fits the criteria for convergent evolution by pokemon logic

I think the gengar one is really good because it doesn’t just look like it could be a regional variant like toedscool or wigglet and it’s more like craudant mimicking a sharpedo.

Yep, plus nightjars are already mimics, so the description could be like 'These nocturnal bird pokémon use their feathers to mimic frightening spirits in the forest' (referencing the ghost Gengar line).

The convergent golem looking a bit different than geodude and graveler actually makes sense bc the normal golem also takes on more lizard-like traits which sets him apart from the original pre-evos (fun fact: the reason golem takes on the lizard body parts is due to trading a graveler and a machoke, machamp gains gravelers four arms and golem gains machokes lizard face)

Here's my pitch: *Vehunest* (Venom + Hum + Nest), the Chick Pokemon. A Flying/Poison type. Vehunest use a strange call to communicate with other faraway Venonest. They use this because they cannot fly yet. Abilities: Keen Eye, Tinted Lens, & Run Away At Level 31, Vehunest evolves into… *Vehumock* (Venom + Hum + Mock), the Hummingbird Pokemon. A Flying/Poison type. Vehumock have incredibly long beaks that they use to drink from poisonous plants at a safe distance. They share similarities between Venomoth, but are two very different species. Abilities: Gale Wings, Tinted Lens, & Intimidate Convergent of: Venonat & Venomoth

Mangela is mangy. That's the naming scheme. And I think Balloonguss is supposed to be an overworld TM ball. Amoonguss describes itself as an item pokeball and Balloonguss disguises itself as a TM pokeball.

I have tried envisioning Eevee as a bug or Arachnid of some sorts. The multiple legs with fur seems to have potential. With it either taking the Kanto Eeveelutions or three different types from the eight Eeveelutions that exist

I have some love for Spurantis because of how it twists the concept of Lurantis. Lurantis is based on an orchid mantis, but it is an orchid that looks like an orchid, while Spurantis is an actual orchid mantis.

For it to actual convergent evolution they should share a type convergent evolution is two separate things evolving to do the same thing or act the same way. Lurantus is an actual convergent evolution. It is a plant that has evolved to look and act like a bug.

I think Baloongus’s silhouette problem could be solved by having it’s tentacles coil up, like wrap around themselves to form the Pokéball shape, then unravel to use their electricity

Mangela, Mangrowth and including the flabebe line could be an interesting twist if you combine both regional and convergent forms. Mangela could be a regional Meowth and flabubbly with horsea.

For the Grass/Fairy typing you mentioned, I personally don't think that is actually a good idea, cause that dual type feels worse than Grass/Psychic in my opinion.

Wait! This Geodude covergent is very similar to MINE covergent evolution for Geodude, just that mine is a reptile. But can't be copy me because i made it before the covergent pokemon concept become a thing because i was planing to a pre-historic pokemon that when it become extinct, his fossilized bodies becomed Geodude. And second, i never e uploaded to internet, so it's just a big considence but heck! Even the types match!😳🤔

Probably either normal-type flying type or a normal flying type I personally think it would be pure normal-type because it is based off of turkeys which are when domesticated flightless birds and when not domesticated can only manage short bursts of flight so if I had to guess a conversion Pokemon based off of them would probably be normal type instead of flying type also if I remember correctly I think normal type and ghost-type are immune to each other so it would be an interesting interaction to have a ghost-type Pokemon and it's converging equivalent being immune to each other because they're opposite types

I know better name and typing for the convergent species of the Staryu line should be called: Stikyu Grass Iron Barbs/Natural Cure HA: Leaf Guard Stikmie Grass/Dark Iron Barbs/Natural Cure HA: Leaf Guard And those should be based on Sticker Grass

Its weird how much you talk about convergent mon sharing a silhouette with the pokemon they converge on, when none of the convergent pokemon outside of maybe Toedscool share their bases silhouettes. Wiglett and Wugtrio obviously have totally different silhouettes, and same goes for Toedscruel with its giant proboscis and how it jumps on its tentacles like a pogo stick. Love the video tho, JWNutz makes the best convergent mon

I have 2 (technically 3) issues with Convergent Evolution Pokémon. 1. Not enough. Wugtrio and Toadscruel. That’s it? Just 2 Pokémon lines? It’s like why even bother. 2. Why isn’t Tentacruel in Paldea? Dugtrio is and it has a convergent Pokémon. 3. A personal issue, so idk if it counts. Wiglet and Wugtrio make me irrationally angry. Idk why, maybe I think it’s so stupid looking.
