Here is an awesome invention for ziplines to get the trolley/seat back to the start after someone rides to the finish. This is a battery powered and remote controlled trolley from ziplinegear.com This is a "beta" unit they provided for me to evaluate and I must say its sweet! Bringing the trolley back to the start has always been the biggest annoyance with ziplines either by walking it back with a rope or in my case unhooking and carrying the stuff back to the start since mine goes over the pond.

On the previous zip line video I meant to comment after it was over but... Anyway here it is "u might want a second line with opposite elevation for each direction, sorta like an escalator." But if u jump into the middle of the lake that new toy you've got would work better & a second line wouldn't... 💗💕

I'm not sure of the exact amount, the rope and wood seat is probably a good 5lbs. My lightest rider has be around 30lbs. So somewhere between there. I'm sure if you contact ZipLineGear they can tell you.

We built something similar on our channel and they are amazing for long ziplines. Can the boomerang pull people too, or is it just a trolley return?

it is designed specifically to not pull people. The drive wheel disengages when weight is pulling down on the trolley.

@@NaterTater oh, that's dumb... If you want to get the trolley back to the top, there's a muuuch simpler solution: Attach a line to the trolley, and put a 5 lb weight on the other end. When the rider goes down, the weight goes up and when the rider gets off the weight goes down and pulls up the trolley.

that way you don't even need someone on standby with a remote and you never have to charge batteries

Yes perhaps from start to finis(ie with gravity). Powered trolley only works when unloaded though.

@@1thinkhealthy But if u have more than one load to go to the primitive side. Load disengage send load. Then send empty back for next load. If you're working over there hook a picnic basket on & someone could send lunch... 🌹

Great idea however it is a non starter unfortunately as it cannot handle the weather and costs about 3 times what it should. Goodbye spur of the moment zip line rides as it would have to be mounted and dismounted on a daily basis when using the zip line. I would possibly consider this trolley when the cost drops significantly under $400 and it can handle the weather. This cost point and weather proofing is possible as demonstrated by the reasonable cost and reliability of many high quality battery operated hand tools that we all own and use daily. I assume the designer of this will be working with the Chinese manufacturer towards an IP rated trolley at a much lower price point.
