I would love to see this as a series. Games like this are great because it doesn't really spoil as no two people will play the exact same way. It is nice to see different perspectives.

After my first 17 hour marathon session of Palia, I quipped to my wife, "it's pretty funny, my character can't bend his knees to sit in the chair and I can't bend my hips to stand up."

Palia's a cool game but needs a lot of work to feel like the MMO it claims to be. To add to that it needs interactions with furniture to feel even more cozy.

mhm I have crafted a bunch of food that was starred so I decorated my table and I have a corner for my starred fish/bugs. but I'd love to sit down in chairs or curl up on a bed - even if i didnt sleep but it has me sit and read a book or something.

I agree, I am 60 and so fed up of having to play as a youngster in every game. It can feel a bit creepy at times especially in games with "romance"! It's almost as if game developers either don't think older people play or just don't want us to. xxx

I tried at first to make my character look like me but gave up and decided to just make her really pretty because every good face made me look asian when I'm not. lol

So far, Dreamlight Valley has been the only game like this where I’ve been able to do a few different body types. I hope more follow suit.

@@sharonbunn2363I think it's more that there's a target audience that represents a majority of the playerbase and most companies don't want to put in the effort to account for anybody beyond that.

I know the whole plot of the game is about humans reappearing, but I really wish there was a way to play as other races. It just seems an odd decision to limit your fantasy MMO to the 'mundane', despite already having the character assets for the elves.

I think it would be amazing having a character thats something special, or a funky race, however if you change your perspective. in this game, being human IS the speciality. :D So in that case, you are already special. :)

I hope they work on character creation a lot more before release. It is very disappointing to see an mmo in 2023 where you only have one body, there's no sliders for anything and all the face presets look the same. Like come on we already figured this out in like 2008 and you obviously can make unique faces and bodies, looking at the NPCs. Edit: now that Im watching more I absolutely agree with you on the true open world mmo experience. When an mmo is focused on settling down in a new community instead of an epic journey and combat, it seems absolutely wild to me that your living space where you might spend a lot of time is completely isolated. What i was hoping for is a cross between Stardew Valley and for example Aion, but you have actual neighbours and can help each other out and work together and maybe even live with other players. Cause otherwise what's the point of making this an MMO? So far this looks like a single player game where you have the chance to bump into someone and talk for a bit. I might be overly critical here but when we've had so many mmos and farming games, I'd like to see new games actually improving upon their predecessors from almost 20 years ago. Not just being mediocre remixes of what we've seen a hundred times before.

I have been playing the game. I really like it. Press T for emotes. People are more talkative later on as I played!! I'm noticing a similiar bare population of players, when I first arrived in Palia for you, as well! I wonder, if they kinda place all the new people into a kinda newbie server, at first - since now I see so many more people and they are way more interested in communicating now. It feels way more chill. and yeaaaaa 20 bucks for clothes. Since clothing is sold as a set, yet are individual pieces. Like if it comes with a hat, you get a hat, a matching top, and matchibg bottom with shoes ... so individual parts. So... I really wanted a a single campers backpack thingie. Sorta like that mail little boy wears ( Auni )... so I paid it, and mix and match the set with the freebie clothing. But ! I am uninterested in paying 20 bucks for a set I don't want. lol when all I want is a particular hat to go with my character's outfit. But that is the only bleh part of the game, so far.

It's likely a combination of ADHD and dyslexia/dyscalculia (the numerical form of dyslexia). My memory functions very similarly lol, and those are the ones I currently know of.

I would absolutely adored this as a series! You offer a great view into a game I currently have neither the equipment nor mental motivation to play myself, and add your own thoughts and voices to it. It's a game that seems pretty awesome, but I don't have the time or energy to devote my lackluster gaming skills to. You offer a great experience in a chill and cozy virtual environment, and prevent the frustration of me getting inevitably stuck on that one task that requires the most minute amount of skill lol. Plus the way you voice characters is awesome! I love the little inner-outer thoughts lol, my inner mind isn't nearly so sassy. 😂

Dyscalculia is the numerical form of dyslexia. My father cursed me with it lol. Also one of the concepts you were looking for is "pop culture reference". When you use a piece of popular culture (Wiki does a better job of explaining this concept) to communicate a specific intent through a peice of common media, often verbaly

If you get there at the same time as somebody else and you both damaged something then you both get the reward, it pays to group farm.

Singularity 6 has a really nice foundation laid for Palia, it just needs some refining. I'd love to see some progress with the MMO side of it/being able to do more with friends and the addition of more in-depth lore! And the ability to use furniture, of course! :) That said, hope you're enjoying the game! It is addicting!

22:20 I used to play Ultima Online and we had houses that people could visit if it wasn't locked. and we had NPC's as vendors on our steps or porches to sell stuff to Players passing by. 23:55 I saw this game and wanted to see gameplay. 1:15:10 Whenever I throw up the peace sign i use 2 hands and always say "2 Scoops" from the old raisin bran commercials in the USA.

I never got married in Stardew. Nor would I ever do so in this game. If you're punished for not marrying or are forced to / not given an incentive for choosing to be single, then Sh17 game.

It was a huge bummer that DDLV bugged on you like that. They have had a couple major updates since then, it would be worth checking out to see if the problem got fixed. They also added a time of day toggle for those who want to play at night but still have sun. They've been doing some really fun, cool stuff. Can't wait for Palia to come to Switch tho! It looks like exactly my shit
