DaVinci Resolve is a popular professional video editing software known for its robust features and capabilities. In the latest version 18l.5 Many new FusionTransitions have been added: Fusion transitions contain unique styles, such as glitch effects, particle transitions, pan and zoom, paintbrush and more.
To apply a transition in DaVinci Resolve, you generally drag and drop the transition between two clips on the timeline. You can then customize the transition duration and properties as needed. Experimenting with different transitions can help add flair and professionalism to your video projects..

@@CrewElite You must be flying through the edits with the speed editor. Also the paid version unlocks so many of the cool new AI features including upscaling, Audio mastering, speech to text and more!

A lot of these are not new. Smooth Cut, Flash, etc. all have been there.

Yes I did throw in a few of my favs which have been there fora while but most of the ones I demonstrated are new as of 18.5. Great additions to the offering. I'll certainly be using quite a few of them.

These are all available on the free version. Just update to v 18.5 to get them.

To be crystal clear. yes there are many free features in davinci resolve but the good ones are paid. Also, the difference in performance on free vs paid with apple silicon is night and day. The free version is gimped cpu/gpu core wise until you pay. So yeah I can't recommend the free version to anybody who wants to do any heavy editing.

Good advice. Certainly Many reasons to upgrade to the Paid version. Most of the new AI tools including voice to text auto captions, upscaling and more. I didn't know that the performance was worse on the free version. Thanks for sharing.

To run this software smoothly, which laptop can I use?

One with as many cores as you can get. Video editing software works best with multi-core processors.

If you go for a Mac even the new M2 macbook Air would do. If you go for windows then preferably an i7 with 8GB graphics card

Go for i5 12600K or 13600K + 32 GB RAM + nVidia 3060 ( 12 GB RAM) or above to smoothly work with heavy project. Set your PC in multimonitor support as Davinci Resolve has unique power to use both inbulit Intel graphics (quicksync) and nVidia Hardware Encoder at same time.

Mostly 'gimmicky' and not likely to be useful to pros - but a few of the glitch style can be useful within a clip (just use the blade tool to make a cut) for easy efx in the right setting....
