Buddy… that’s literally what he does. He’s not an actual character, he’s a mii gunner costume. In other words, the mii you choose to be a gunner will be dressed as sans but it isn’t actually him

I love how the interview questions always indirectly reference real world things about Undertale without fully breaking the fourth wall. Papyrus seems to do it unintentionally, while Sans seems to be doing it as a direct nod that he’s aware of the player and what they’re referring to. And then ultimately no useful information comes from the interview

I’m disappointed it’ll probably be a while before we get the new chapters but it is what it is, I’m happy Toby is being direct with us and keeping our expectations in check, glad progress is going well, happy he’s not overworking his staff, and I know the wait will be worth it for when the chapters do come out!

I love how the first two canon interactions between Papyrus and Mew Mew we have ever had are him yelling "Silence, Papyrus" at her, and her head laying in a pile of dirt while he feeds her what is presumably some kind of plant food he made for Flowey. It's exactly the level of goofiness you'd expect from the two of them together, but also completely unexpected.

When you come from just writing about how content should be done and halfway through being cleaned up by the next LETTER, it only makes sense to make sure to follow it up with what is essentially saying "there is still plenty of work left to do though". Maybe if anything, convincing himself of this. But who knows? Everything he said before that implies they not only got a lot done since last update, but they are cruising into the finish line right now.

@@Safetyswitch Flowey isn't yellow because Undertale makes the subtle distinction between Yellow (justice) and Gold (determination)... BUT Deltarune takes it a step further and makes the clear separation between the yellow flower and the golden flower, in Asgore's flower shop, which is where the flower sprites in the newsletter are from. Flowey is specifically the Golden flower since he's made of Determination.

The flowers are placed in the same order all the time, they represent the order of the gimmick for the secret bosses, thats why the green isn't there, cause this newsletter is for chapter 4 and chapter 3 is already finished

7:43 so if mad mew mew is papyrus's cat, as implied in this scene, and since darius (papyrus's AI undertale form) states his wife likes to roleplay as a cat/dog during the color puzzle, this means that his wife could be considered as his pet, and mad mew mew is his pet, that must mean that papyrus is married to mad mew mew

I recently discovered Toby Fox has chronic wrist pain before reading this newsletter. It was unfortunate to discover such, this only makes me hope the full game is going to be gorgeous ‘cause he’s persisted through his wrist pain to make Undertale so I believe he can do anything!
