The original Butterly Swirl was created using a hanger tool technique. This butterfly swirl was designed by using a custom divider insert and using a glass rod stirrer to create the swirling effect. The divider was easy to make and required no glue or construction.
Soap Recipe: Included in video - Water as a percent of oil = 26.5%.

Wow. First video I've ever seen of yours! I don't know what to compliment first, the soap or the video! Both are amazing!! Thank you for sharing your recipe and all the information, all the percentages when splitting, etc. its really appreciated, coming from a novice soap maker like myself! I wanted to ask, when reading your recipe, coconut oil, lard, and shea butter, hard oils, (if you include coconut) at 62% do you need to be incredibly fast to wkrk with it? Or youre just incredibly good at knowing when youve reached emulsion before any trace? Because i feel if i tried that recipe it would thicken too quickly for me to pull off this swirl. Also thank you for showing your dropper technique for splitting the fragrance oils, im going to ateal that for sure!

Hi there! Great video. What material did u use in creating the custom dividers?

Sorry to ask wat % of FO u add normally in your soap making?
@avantsoapstudio6654
@avantsoapstudio6654 3 жыл бұрын
I tend to use lower % of FO than most other soap makers mainly because I personally do not like strong scents and it behaves better in most of my soap designs. Typically I used a fragrance ration of 0.5. Hope that helps!

👏👏👏 beautiful soap , beautiful colours ! Beautiful technic ! Why do you use cpop ? What the difference ?
@avantsoapstudio6654
@avantsoapstudio6654 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Isabelle! I use CPOP (Cold Process Oven Process) to help promote gel phase. It uses the heat from your oven to extend the temperature phase during saponification to“force” gel-phase - and keep and enhance the colors of the micas. It's really an aesthetic choice which I prefer with my designs. Hope that helps!

Stunning 🥰. Any alternate to Lard? Plus tell a purpose of using this soap as per ingredients like grapeseed, rice bran oils r used. Thank u
@avantsoapstudio6654
@avantsoapstudio6654 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I was so happy with the result of this design. The best replacement for lard would be palm oil, but I would run it thru a soap calc just to make sure. I use grapeseed and rice bran oil as substitutes for olive oil which I tend to avoid because of the yellow discoloration it causes - especially with white batters. They are both good for mild cleansing and lather.

So delightful to watch...what s lye concentration u used ?
@avantsoapstudio6654

Thanks so much! For this recipe I used a lye concentration of 34.85% or 26.5% water as a percent of oil weight. Happy to answer any questions :)

Thank you Jeff🤗 and oven temperature for cpop ? Should preheat oven?
@avantsoapstudio6654
@avantsoapstudio6654 3 жыл бұрын
@@tamilarasis3732 Yep - I preheat my oven to the lowest setting (175), turn it off when it reaches 175F and then place my soap/mold (covered) in the oven and leave the oven light on. Before bed I turn the light off and leave it the mold in the oven overnight. It works like a charm. :)

Hi, can I ask you what you used for dividers?
@avantsoapstudio6654
@avantsoapstudio6654 2 жыл бұрын
I used Lexan panels that I purchased on Amazon, they are fairly easy to cut with the right cutter and can easily bend to fit just about any mold. Here's the link www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00520AR9C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Let me know if you have any other questions!
