Throwing Rb3 in to stop all the queen attacks would have been genius! That's why queens on open files are targets since she can just get kicked away by a rook attack. Great games!

@@tetrisbitboth your suggested moves don't work. Pawn F4 is only good move for White
@williamsquires307010 ай бұрын
(@41:27) There’s really only one move for white here, and that’s 1 Qg4. 1) It gets the queen out of the line of attack by the rook on h8 2) it covers the bishop on g5 so if black trades, white’s queen still guards the (otherwise) hanging knight on d2, and the e5 pawn, and 3) White can now start pushing the h-pawn. This will give white’s king an escape from back-rank mates, AND white can push the pawn as the g6 pawn is pinned if the white bishop on g5 moves, or is traded. 4) If black takes the e5 pawn first. White can trade a bishop for his bad knight. Furthermore, with the bishop on e7, it hinders the black king. This is important if white can get a rook to the open b-file, and then to b8, as black’s white squared bishop is trapped.

i plugged it into a custom setup and yeah, Mate in 2 no matter what since he is forced to capture the bishop with the queen, then the queen comes in and checkmates, surprised he didn’t see that cause i’m rated 600 and i saw it lmao edit: actually i’m lying to myself, yoy can block with the queen and while that’s not a great move, it isn’t mate in 2, it’s mate in 8 though final edit: you can also block with a pawn, making it not even mate, just a bad position, chess is so fascinating

This whole “animals playing chess” thing has gotten out of hand. I know of no cats, dogs, parakeets, or whatever that could play chess. Now, granted, cats do have a sick fascination with jumping on the chessboard and scattering the pieces everywhere, but it can hardly be called playing the game. 😅 This seems to also be a thing with small children and puppies, but no 800 rating there. Let’s just stick with humanoid bots, eh?

its rook takes pawn if queen takes then you win a queen by pinning your bishop on to the queen
@rafaelpaquete335010 ай бұрын
its actually only a great move because white doesnt have to take the rook because its not forced. So black would be just taking a pawn for free which isn't the best move in that position, threating big pieces or checkmate is more efficient

That Gotham Chess guy is insufferable. He said only bots and cheaters sac their queen while on some news show. The example he showed was checkmate in two, the same crap we practice on lichess. He said that people won't sacrifice their queen because we're all "risk adverse" or some nonsense. "Professional cheater-catcher"
@rsap8010 ай бұрын
@@SS77S7 It definitely was him. It was news coverage of that Niemann/Carlsen cheating stuff. They brought him in as an expert. The example he was showing wasn't the simplest sac play, I grant that, but it didn't exactly require computer-brain level of forethought. The whole thing reeked of "I can catch cheaters just by watching their moves." And "people don't think that way."
