Here’s a first look at some of Universal Studios Japan's new Donkey Kong Country merchandise! This new line of merchandise dropped on December 6, 2023. The new area opens up in Spring 2024 inside Super Nintendo World.

This is a dream come true for Donkey Kong fans, it still feels hard to believe that DKC is getting an honest to goodness theme park. DK fans all around the world will make a pilgrimage to this park and park guests will become new DK fans. This is amazing.

I worked for an American company that was bought by a Japanese company. They ALWAYS brought back tins from Japan with tasty treats for the whole office. I loved that so much, and it was so sweet! ❤

Definitely the headband. Also looking forward to keychains. Was in USJ a month ago (we are from Mexico but like the parks in Japan way more than the ones in the US) and most of what I got was Super Nintendo World plushie keychains

This merch is already more appealing than most the Mario merch and I’m sure they have more to come - the headband and piggy bank barrel are something I’d actually want

Because tiki tong and the tiki tak tribe is the main theme of the cart ride, I hope DK Returns gets a port on switch.

The barrel looks cool. Quite out of the game. I think the little plushies on top of the headband look adorable. They should make bigger plush versions of those with velcro attachments for the toys to be fixated in. Would be neat if they'd add Dixie Kong and Cranky at a later time perhaps. The shirt is pretty nice though I find they missed the oppurtunity to bring that on a khaki or camo looking shirt to resemble the jungle colors a bit more. Happy you enjoy the souvenirs, I cannot imagine seeing you wearing that hat anytime soon in private though.

@tdrexplorer It definitely makes me want to pop out my Super Nintendo games to play Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 again. Also having quite the nostalgia of playing Donkey Kong 64. In terms of potential shirt designs, they could just emulate Donkey's and Diddiy's looks like they did with the Mario overalls., meaning a shirt with a tie printed on or a shirt with the stars on there. I bet people would also go for the Nintendo cap that Diddy wears and if they wanted to go there, have a Dixie inspired girls variant. The line between fun cosplay and casual wear is a good way to go, I think. I was also chuckling quite some when you showed the banana chips. It's such a given for DK to have anything banana flavored in terms of snacks and I'm looking forward to when they likely have a snack stand in the new section of the park that sells more of the likes we have seen throughout the park. I gotta admit, alongside Bowser it definitely would be fun to see King K. Rool represented with his Kremlings in some way even though the design of the section feels slightly more inspired by the Returns and Tropical Freeze games.

It does say the candies are banana flavor. It says バナナ風味キャンディat the bottom and キャンディ：バナナ香料使用 at top.

Thank you so much for all these precious informations, links and all the great advices. I am planning my trip to Japan for april and got my tickets to USJ including Nintendo World using Klook instead of waiting till the official website opens my date of reservation. I am so excited. Also because of the renovation of Toy Story Mania I had to change my schedule, but fortunatly, you gave the info before I booked my tickets to TDR. Thank you so much. Your blog is really convinient. Keep making great content, my family and I really enjoy watching you!

I love Japanese culture so much! The way you were describing how many of the souvenirs are actually for the guests friends and family is something we in the states just dont typically do. Learned all about it when my dad would spend 3 months/yr out there and started bringing stuff for me to give MY friends even. Wish there was a us custom similar

Dear Chris We need to start a petition that Nintendo needs to build a separate Super Nintento attraction in Kanto area. You know, just like Harry Potter in USJ Osaka and WB Tokyo But listen to this, they better name it...... ready? Super Nintendo Wonder How's that?
