Hi, my name is Jen I am 45 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 10 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time KZfaqr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. You always say things like, "I don't like this product because of x,y, and z but you might like it if...". Jen, I felt the same way about the Rudolph palette last year, and didn’t get it. I was being all grown up and responsible. 🙄 I regretted that decision ALL YEAR, to the point that I emailed ColourPop to see if they had any extras lurking around. I emailed them a few more times throughout the year to please please bring it back…. As soon as I saw it rereleased, I got so excited. On launch day, my husband said “buy the whole collection, so I don’t have to hear about Rudolph the red nosed reindeer all year again, it’s bad enough you make me watch it on repeat through the Christmas season!” 😂😂😂😂😂 I love that man

Aw thank you! That's so sweet of you to ask! 🥰💕 Yes, clicking on my links and watching ads do help and are much appreciated, but please don't feel like you have to! There is also something that most people don't know that might be even more important than links and ads, and that is "watch time". KZfaq heavily weighs watch time and how fast viewers click on a video once it's published. If people watch the whole video (without skipping around) and they watch within the first hour of it being published, KZfaq assumes that it's a video that people are excited about and want to watch, so that helps it to go viral and get more views. If viewers don't watch for very long, or they don't watch the video for a few days, those affect it negatively and it won't get as many views or be shared by KZfaq. So doing those things is a huge way to support my channel and help it to grow! 🙌

I love how you are so thorough. You both demonstrate the product and you explain how and why you came to your conclusion. You never rush. I hate spending time and money to purchase cosmetics only to get them home and find they are not for me. I so appreciate your honesty. You could have easily not mentioned all the cons to these products or just slammed them profusely. I bought the Cloud 9 palette on Friday! I have been seeking something with gray and silver tones, but most were too dark or just didn’t have other shades that I would use. Then I saw Cloud 9 on line. I had to go check it out. Swatched in store and it was an immediate reaction. For the first time in a long time, was super exited to buy a new eyeshadow palette. It is so unique and approachable with the mix of soft muted neutrals, silvers and grays. It stands out from any other cool tone palette I own.

Hi Jen, I like highlighters that don't take over a face and that one was nice. The butter glosses are a great deal. Colourpop is one of my favorite eyeshadows. The silver shadow looks great on you (it kinda reads very light sparkly blue) I think the CP palette is probaly the prettiest & most truly cool palette I've seen. These are not shades flattering to me but I can still appreciate the colorstory. Anymore, if I don't want to spend upwards of $50 for an eyeshadow palette, I will purchase from CP over any drugstore brand or MUR.

Lots of pretty palettes, and while I don't buy super high-end, I am trying to stay away from the ultra-low-end. That's why Color Pop is such a cool brand ~ great price, beautiful shadows.

I agree with you on the mint factor. I won’t use anything with that scent, no matter how pretty it looks on. Also, I still absolutely love the NYX fat lip oils . I know lots of people didn’t like the texture but I found if I have too little or too much on it is more sticky, right in the middle is where it’s just perfect! Fantastic content as always! ♥️

I purchased the LA Girl palette and was hugely disappointed. I think this might be my last from them if they keep putting out palettes like this. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it. Can't wait to see your reaction to the new Maybelline Lip Plumpers...😁

Quick note Jen. I bought that Versed milk serum stuff. OMG, girl, that stuff is no joke. I can’t believe how lovely my skin is!! Also the Eucerin Q-anti-aging cream. Not sure what my next product will be but I can’t wait to try something else!😊

In the UK we don't have the red brackets around the certain eyeshadows. I have one of the palettes and have sensitive eyes and have no reaction or pigment staining on my eye xx

I have exactly the same experience as you do with the elf lip oils. First I really don't like the smell which is very artificial (and doesn't smell mint to me, just chemical), but I really like how it looks on my lips so I was ok to tolerate the smell because of the results. But like you, my lips quickly started to be very dry and uncomfortable. That's very unfortunate because I do love the look. So I use my Clarins lip oil first and then the elf on top for the style and color.

As far as duochrome type liquid eyeshadow goes, I think I'll stick to Moira and Colorpop. Their formulas are excellent and basically the same price as ELF's. ELF prices just seem to be climbing without much of an increase in quality. Too bad... I always love your videos and how honest your reviews are!

Hi Jen, thanks for the video! Sounds like the Wet N Wild and LA Girl holiday products are kind of hit or miss. I have to admit, the teenage girl in me got pretty excited about that NYX lip gloss set! But they're scented, so that's a hard pass for me. And wow, that Cloud 9 palette is pretty! It reminds me of the Xenon palette although as you pointed out, with fewer silvery colors. It also reminded me of the new Pretty Grunge palette although it doesn't have the warmer neutral or peachy shades. Or a matte pink. But for only $18, it looks like it would be a better value for a cool toned palette. ( I mean, better than the Xenon or the Pretty Grunge.)

A few thoughts....I went for the Colorpop Rudolph re-release over the Wet n Wild palettes because the green in that palette is matte and felt the wet n wild ones were too glittery. I've been really happy with the Rudolph. I think you are definitely reacting to the Elf lip oil. I don't feel any tingle or numbness with those at all...just a slight menthol feeling. I honestly think these are a repackage of their old lip oil formula. I used to be obsessed with the purple one, but those all got discontinued and the feel of these on my lips are pretty well identical, except the slight minty feeling. To me, they feel light a straight up gloss because they're a bit thicker, but I do think they are pretty!

Will you do a wear test please to see how they last and look throughout the day and also show us in real light how it looks? I have an idea, you could try these new Revlon products with one side of your face wearing the Revlon illuminance foundation and on the other side of your face you can try them on top of Revlon color stay full coverage foundation for dry skin? That way we can see how these new Revlon products play with serum foundation and regular foundation for? Thank you Jen for always having an honest opinion and staying true to yourself and your internet fam, I'm interested in trying those wet n wild blushes if I can find them and not sold out lol. ❤

The new Maybelline plump lifter gloss scared me because it said it had chili or something and I hate stinging lip products , I will wonder what you think of them.

@@JenPhelps I looked at the ingredients list for the lip glosses, and it only says "fragrance," so we don't know exactly what it is. But since you say it's minty, I'd guess it's menthol or something related to it. That's an ingredient that can be very irritating to the lips. And to the skin too. I had a nasty experience about 30 years ago with a heavily scented drugstore lipstick, which is why I'm now fanatical about avoiding scented and flavored lip products. I broke out in a rash on my lips, and they peeled for 2 weeks!!! I can't remember exactly what the product was, but I'm sure it was discontinued long ago.

OMG~ Cloud 9 looks SO pretty!! I just bought it at Ulta, and used some Ulta points + one of their coupons...paid $0.54 for it 🎉😅💃Can't wait to try it!! Love NYX butter glosses too! My favorite is Strawberry Cheesecake...such a flattering color, and it's great for when you want a red lip, but less bold. ❤

Thank you for all the time you have taken for this video! I absolutely love the new NYX palettes!!! I just purchased the NYX Christmas palette and haven’t received it yet. I can’t wait to try it but am a little disappointed that they don’t sound as opaque. Hopefully I can build a matte underneath to get better color payoff. Also, is it just me or so the WNW Christmas palettes just look like their regular shades in the newer 5-10 shade palettes just scrambled and pink added?

I always love these reviews - they're so well thought out and helpful. In seeing the Cloud 9 palette, it's giving some Stone Cold Fox vibes. It got me thinking - is there a 9-12 pan palette that you'd consider a 'mini fox'? (ETA: I saw your Stone Cold Fox video comparing to a few other CP palettes... so helpful!)
