Great to see that you like yours, I'm getting mine prbly tomorrow due to Christmas delivery delays... With channelling maybe try a filter paper in-between puckscreen and coffee puck, that has helped me a lot in the past
@mycoffeeshow1118 ай бұрын
Thx for the tip. It has become better (less channeling) since I updosed to 19g and gentlier tamping. I don’t know why but I don’t like using paper filters. The main beauty of this basket is that it works like if the filter was already there. Good luck with your delivery. I have a very important coffee equipment that has stuck in Belgium. Was hoping to do another unboxing soon.

If you want a basket to try, there's the Sworks Design stepdown that converts a 58 mm machine into a 49 mm one, very interesting if you want to try espresso with a taller puck and using your grinder at a coarser range where it might produce less fines.
@mycoffeeshow1118 ай бұрын
Thx for that. I guess it offers more in terms of body? Sworks is above my budget unfortunately. Tried to contact them but so far been ignored.

That's what I want to know really, I like big 20-22 grams shots in my 58 and they offer a different balance than small 16 grams shots, but I can't really drink two larges shots a day, not to mention the cost in coffee. Hence my interest in the step down basket.

Nice video. I aimed for One. Due to their 58mm only production for now I bought similar basket called Buterfly Effect by 3Bomber. The first thing I confrtonted, as you mentioned, dial in problem and fountain like chanelling. Even I tried fine close to Turkish grind size. Still same. I used medium light bean. By medium dark still channeling remained but flavor and tasting notes I got, never experienced before with same beans. The other thing I experienced was colder shots to compare with other baskets with same puck prep situation. One last thing, I use it mostly for brewing tea now.
@mycoffeeshow1118 ай бұрын
Thx for watching. Interesting results. Wondering if colder shots could be due to channeling? How was the cleaning of the basket?

Thx for watching. Channeling can be a part of the process with any basket but especially with those fast ones. Fresh Dark/medium coffee still looks great but with light roasts you may struggle sometimes. Sometimes even those bad looking shots can be very drinkable.
@rigocastillo28938 ай бұрын
Awesome video ! I was considering buying the all in one but as you stated in your last comment about struggling more with light roast I’ll pass. I have a Breville dual boiler (please don’t make fun of me) lol and I drink allot of light roast, sometimes light to medium. Can you recommend a basket for me. I’m still using my stock basket with stock portafilter.

Ok, I got them. Thank you! Two questions: if I used an IMS basket before, with a Weber paper filter at the bottom and one of those mesh puck screens on top, should I now be grinding slightly courser? And the All in One basket is capable of doing several brew methods, but alas my HX (Rocket Appartamento) has neither flow control nor flow profiling. Any workarounds?
@mycoffeeshow1116 ай бұрын
Well done. Even with simpler machine it should work as a nice high extraction basket. I assume you haven’t tried any other baskets like so. They are very fast, and especially with constant 9bar can be easy to over extract. Experiment but I would assume you will have to grind finer Are you able to adjust the pressure on your machine? If so you can play with that as well
@seansweet48836 ай бұрын
@@mycoffeeshow111 Tried today. It definitely ran fast and generated some channelling (but tasted quite good). Will grind a bit finer and may also try adding the bottom paper filter (adding resistance to the puck). Basket seems deeper than the IMS 18 I’d been using. As per one of your other comments, I may need to increase dose a bit. Cheers.

@@mycoffeeshow111 Hope you don’t mind the feedback updates. I went a bit finer and added the Weber bottom paper filter. I should have known, but like other HE baskets, the bottom is wider and the paper didn’t go walk to wall. Was a longer pull (~ 37 g in 30 seconds) that tasted very good. Will keep experimenting. So much fun!

@mycoffeeshow1118 ай бұрын
I only have regular Pesado and wasn’t impressed with it. Pedantry I like a lot. Haven’t done proper side by side comparisons so only speculating that PCL can give you more sour flavours and maybe more clarity.

How would you rate the E&B compared to the two baskets from your last video?
@mycoffeeshow1118 ай бұрын
In the last 2 weeks I made more espresso than I often pull in the month. I simply couldn’t compare everything with everything- that would be impossible task. I am only speculating here but any of them should satisfy those who like intense, sharper flavours in the coffee. Mischief can sometimes be too sharp though. I might do another comparison in the future but for the next few weeks I’m having flat whites only 😛
