That’s why I’m excited to share that later this year, as part of The World’s Most Magical Celebration, Walt Disney World cast members will get to add a new nametag to their wardrobes.

I haven‘t been a cast member yet, nor have I ever been to any Disney park in my life, but when I saw Chris from Orlando being etched, I smirked😂 I have watched so many videos of CP‘s and CRP‘s talking about the Chris from Orlando name tag😂

Minus the Cast members its just a theme park. The Cast members are what make Walt Disney World so special. I have always appreciated the fact that the person that is sweeping up the trash to if the CEO is in the park that they all wear the same Cast member name tag. Makes it feel like they are all in it together and that no one is more special then anyone else while in the park they are all their to help the guests.

Don't do that. They get paid barely minimum wage and have to work in awful conditions for hours and hours on end. Disney doesn't treat anyone in their company well

As a former Disneyland cast member, I wore a lot of name tag designs (the year the Main Street Electrical Parade first "glowed away for the 'last' time" some of us who worked night ODV and sold along the parade route before the show had to trade in our commemorative name tags for new ones because some of us got together and added flashing LED lights that we attached to the back, and they shone through holes we drilled around the logo and Costuming wasn't a fan even though it was a cool effect but I also understand why Costuming wanted uniformity on the name tags). This is definitely the most beautiful name tag design I've seen in all my years visiting and working in Disney theme parks. No need to try to make this one more fancy in any way -- Walt Disney World knocked it out of the park with this one.

LOVE to see all those face masks. The reality is that this is our New Normal. If you don't like it, too bad. GET USED TO IT!! Everyone is constantly infected with COVID at all times, forever. The infection will never end, which means everyone can potentially infect others with this VERY dangerous virus. For this reason, all who come to this Happy Place MUST wear the mask at all times, being sure to cover the nose and mouth very tightly. This is why Disney needs to bring back the outdoor mask requirement. The virus doesn't take a break from infecting others just because you're outside. The virus will END our species unless we all wear masks constantly forever. Please don't ever forget that.

I miss being a cast member. I wish I could have another chance. Even if it is for Photos. I enjoyed cooking in Disney's Kitchens. Hollywood and Vine baby!! My kids never got to go and I am sad about that. I have always wanted to Thank Disney. Hurricane Irma caused us to lose everything and I was without a home when I worked there. I was in Culinary school and went head first for Disney. I did not utilize their externship program. I was able to grad out when I worked 240 hours. Unfortunately, my school shut down while I was on a medical leave and then I couldn't return due to another storm that came through where Disney had to shut down. " When you wish upon a star" echoes in my heart everyday and every night. Disney is definitely magical. I still have my old name tag. I gave my ears to my mom because she is in a nursing home now. I miss Disney so much. I literally cried everyday from the joy. I had to hide that joy though cause my two little ones wanted to go so badly. Happy Anniversary. I have no doubt everything will be beautiful as always. I love Disney Magic!

Is there any chance of them recalling you as an employee or any rules against you reapplying now that things are slowing getting back to normal? I would think Disney would much rather recall trained dedicated employees rather then having to find new employees and train them and all.

@@wickedwood04 actually I was about to start working for Disneyland in California but literally just as I was about to start training for my more appropriate role the lockdown happened so technically I'm a beginner who barely got out of training when all this happened. Officially I've been a cast member from January 16th 2020, put on paid leave when the lockdown happened in March, given the sad news that I had to be let go in October, and then officially terminated at the end of December 31st 2020

Putting the city names on the badges is asinine. Cast members are actors playing fictitious roles, both scripted and improvisational, in imaginary settings. These people should not be referred to as "cast members" on stage and while the show is in progress for the same reason that the cast members in a movie, a television show, or a play don't refer to themselves as such on screen or on stage. Moreover, these actors certainly don't reveal their actual hometowns when such places contradict the story and show. Ethel from Orlando, for instance, prevents the audience from suspending disbelief that they are in The Magic Kingdom, Adventureland, the planet Batuu, the planet Pandora, etc.

Walt Disney, the founder of Disneyland and The Walt Disney Company, used to call these things, "contradictions." Walt Disney Imagineering spends millions upon millions of dollars immersing audiences in believable imaginary environments only to have them be immediately undermined by foolish decisions made by people who don't seem to understand the point of Disneyland, and everything it birthed.

@@mattk.3645 Well at Universal I don’t think people see as many team members in different areas like in Disney. I feel like in Universal the team members are usually at the entrances of rides whereas in the Disney parks the cast members are like at every corner so you see them more than in Universal. Also Universal does a lot of what I assume is called very heavy theming, especially in the Diagon Alley area
