I invested in Tesla because it is the only company I can put my money to support Elon Musk. When I saw a disabled person with a hand prosthetic, Tesla and Neuralink came to my mind instantly. I immediately thought of the value of Tesla’s Optimus to the future of Tesla. I have seen Boston Dynamics presentation on robotics, it was very interesting but its been several decades ago.

I doubt tesla will do prosthetics due to how specific it has to be for each person. So that means no mass production
@gordon1201
@gordon1201 Ай бұрын
@@Toefoo100 that's completely short sighted. There's absolutely no reason it has to be so specific. We already have skeletal implants where you can attach a prosthesis directly on the skeleton, so no need for custom made anything beyond the initial operation but that has nothing to do with neuralink

Great presentation! Even *I* could understand most of it. I am excited for the potential for physical healing, and restoring quality of life. I must admit that the Super Power aspect is a bit disconcerting, simply because all of history speaks of the danger of the temptation of greed. How to regulate such abuse is going to be a challenge. I am not against enhancing physical abilities, just recognizing that some folks cannot control themselves. (It's sort of part of my job description) Looking forward to technical progress, as well as wisdom in application. Finally, not a nitpick so much as a friendly suggestion ... isolate the microphone from the table. When D.J. Saul (or anyone else) was making points while touching the table, it drove my subwoofer into Boom-Boom! I am so used to everything around Elon being perfect, this stuck out to me. Hi, this is fascinating but I have so many questions: Is it secure from hacking? Is it safe to go through scanners such as those at a library or airport, MRI, CAT Scanner, X-Ray? Is it susceptible to an EMP? Batteries have been known to overload and ignite or explode, how do you protect or at least highly mitigate the risk to the brain? Will this be able to help with neuropathy and other nerve damage throughout the body? Will stimulation of atrophied muscles be possible ahead of enabling control of muscles impacted by nerve damage? Will it be able to create muscle memory more quickly for difficult to achieve skills? Does the interface have storage to assist with memory? Will it develop to be able to combat aging diseases such as dementia? Is the device similar to a pacemaker in that it would need to be removed before cremation? Is there any risk to firefighters/first responders recovering an unfortunate victim of fire? I’m sure the military have a huge interest in this to add ‘superpowers’ to their soldiers, do you have concerns? These are just a dump of questions that come to mind some of them nonsensical but my mind is struggling to comprehend the possibilities of a device such as this. I’m imagining the hope that must be surging through a significant portion of the population whose imagination must be running wild with possibilities of assistance with chronic conditions. Will the costs be within reach of regular working stiffs? This is obviously a developing project, will upgrades be available for early adopters as improvements happen? I’m wondering what timescales are likely to be for developments and what goals you have for future developments?

How do you recharge them or like what kinda battery does it work on or is the brain the battery

yeah it operates with electrical signals, and introducing an interface where the brain learns to control inputs to the interface is achivable, to control things like a computer and so on, that i think is achivable and to some degree has been achived by neural link. what i am more skeptical about in this current form at least is being able to read of thoughts and to change them in detail, which is different from the brain streaming commands effectively to some external system, the other direction of control and input is more difficult i think, especially in detail. lets say you wanted to implant an understanding of some mathematical theorem, or intill a memory or visualization of a map of canada in detail, that is something much more difficult and for the input paths to be bidirectional, that must be done, and without that being done it is simply going to be a limited technology. you cannot make someone a lot smarter without achiving that for instance, you could only make available better tools for working or learning conventionally with the current state of the technology. anyway exciting stuff, i hope it works out.

Logically, this can only lead to one thing: eternal life. The process would involve cloning the body, followed by a brain transplant, and incorporating a few neural link implants to compensate for the severed spinal cord. Additionally, another link at the end of the severed cord would ensure communication between the brain implant and the cord implant. Remember, this is version 1.

Do you think it could to lead to discovering more areas of the brain involved in aging and just stop our bodies from naturally aging, so we wouldn’t have to move our consciousness to another source

Even with a brain transplant your brain would age through the shortening of telomeres guaranteeing you develop a brain disease. Aging and death is literally encoded in the DNA and has a counter

I'm interested to see if a neuronal signal could be entangled with a q-bit and use it to quantize thoughts beyond a simple digital output.

Must be a pretty invasive device to allow for that. You would probably have to replace most of the skull with a very big neuralink because the sensors have to reach all the different parts of the brain

@@natzos6372 Speech is a relatively small part of the human brain, no? You don't have to put these sensors everywhere. If that was the case moving a mouse cursor telepathically should be more invasive. The trick is just to find what neurons firing correspond to certain concepts and ideas.

An experienced programmer will tell you , it not the coding that takes the time. AI is excellent at embedding code that is very difficult to debug - yes it also creates bugs.

This should only be a recovery tool. Otherwise a portion of humans will evolve to have this necessary to function while another portion evolves to out compete it.

Evolution is to slow to out compete technology. If i can access electronic/robotic devices with just my brain from a distance, I have a significant advantage over anyone that cannot. Its only a matter of time before things like this become commonplace. Smartgun links for military implanted in palms of their hands, cybernetic eyes, myomer based muscle replacement...its all coming.

about "emperor mode" in civ 6, it doesnt affect playability in any way(!) the game doesnt become harder to play so its the exact same as "easy" mode... the fact its the highest difficulty means the enemies and strategizing is harder, that's all (not the"gameabilily" of it). so for showcasing he might as well playing whatever... i guess that engineer really didnt know that, which is totaly fine. its an incredibly amazing stuf!! very cool!!

So, Neuralink does not address at all about the lose sensor threads (most of them) that Neuralink reported few weeks ago. Neuralink's CDC application mentions that kind of risk and that it can result to scarring of the brain tissue. So is this old video? Is the cursor movement shown before or after most of threads moving? What was made in corrective operation? Was there scarring of the brain tissue to the patient? Is the cursor movement augmented with eye tracking technology?

Stop being willfully misinformed. All your questions already been answered elsewhere. It just needed a software update to regain full functionality, they weren't using the vast majority of connections yet.
