He is idol of idols for reason, his solo work is so remarkable all of his album is insanely good. I love how Kai's films and albums give you such a sense of his taste and vision, he is such a COMPLETE performer. Those who train under SM are taught from the very beginning that Concept comes before all else, I have heard a number of my fav artists mention how the first question, the guiding question is always "What is the concept?" And I feel like Kai embodies and brings that perspective out almost more than any other SM soloist (I would add others to that 'concept driven artist' list but Kai would be at or near the top) He made a film for his first solo mini album as well and he is so specific about the look of every concept, the choreo, the dancers, the costuming, the lighting, just like a director (and a lover of films like he is) does, he plans out or has input into every layer of an album and the Films are an important part of that.

You should check out his 1st film:kai too. It is so amazing and unique these films became kinda like his signature. When it was announced that he would make another film for this comeback, even non fans were excited lol. We anticipated it as much as the album itself. Also do check out the albums themself, he really put out 3 non skips from the get go. They're so different from eo but so him if that makes sense. He had recommended weeknd songs in the past, and from his other music recs fans could tell that this kind of neo soul rnb is his fave genre

Kai is one of my favorites, but Lay is awesome as well. Haven't heard a miss with either of their solo work!

As you discovered, Kai's "Film: Kai Rover," is just like all his other film videos, which gives you a sample of all the songs on his album, and they are all highly cinematic like this. Rover is Kai's 3rd mini solo album, which was released in March. The only song that has an MV is "Rover," the other 5 songs in this "Film: Kai Rover" video are B-side songs, so they don't have MVs. That is why you don't see any "Rover" choreography in the film because they want you to watch the MV. This video was purely designed as a teaser for his album. You only hear a small snippet of each song. If you listen to the album or watch a live performance you will see there is a lot more to these songs than what you hear in this video. (He did perform several of these songs live as part of his comeback promotions.) Kai had a hand in producing this whole album and his "Film: Kai Rover" storyline is supposed to depict his life journey and all that he has gone through to become the idol and performer that he is today. Everything he does is very deep and philosophical and has a lot of different layers, which can be interpreted in many ways depending on how deeply you want to explore the concepts in the video. If you want more of Kai's "Film: Kai Rover," check out his "Film: Kai #Rover" dance practice. I think you will be even more blown away when you see the complete choreography for each of these songs. (For example, all the tutting with that book, he can do live as well.)

Fire album❤

Kai immerses his fans in his concepts. The music comes to life with his gorgeous vocals, amazing visuals and stunning performances. He puts so much of himself into every detail. Although he is obviously a beautiful, sexy man, but he does not play on it unless it fits the theme. Costumes are chosen for they way they fit the music and how he can move in them, they are part of the concept. Such an outstanding talent, a true artist. I feel privileged to be his fan. Please do check out the album, it won't let you down.

Btw, Kai told us both of his film:kai are reflections of his life journey, metaphorically of course.

Fun fact : Kai participated in the creative direction and preparation of his solo albums. For the first album, he held an audition for his backup dancer crew. He even cut his own profit percentage so that most of budget will go to the album preparation, film:kai probably cost so much since nobody in SM has done it before.

This album is a masterpiece. Since its release in March, I have not gotten over it yet. The title song, Rover, has been an addiction for K-poppers and even idols this year. Our Mr. Rover has proven himself to be an idol of idols indeed

One of kai’s favorite singers is weekend too his like this genre of music so his albums always have this themes. My husband once think one of his song from the first album is weekend song because he wasn’t pay attention for language and didn’t hear it well 😂 the song call nothing on me from kai first album kai

It's so amazing that KAI decided to create these film clips. They're immaculate. I loved this album as much and maaaaybe more than his first one -- which is saying something, since that first one was a tour de force -- because I feel like on this one he really settled into the KAI sound, and I love that for him, and for us. He's exceptional.
