I’d leave the exposed beams on the ceiling the color they are! Especially if you’re changing the floor and wall colors. Also, I love the charm the kitchen floor adds to the house!

I would totally keep the dark beams like that! Don’t touch them! My mother in law completely gutted their new house except for the natural beams, did light grey walls with white trim and painting the fireplace brick white - looks SO good. The contrast is really beautiful.

I did a double take when I saw Carter. He looks like a pre teen! I was not ready for that! I remember the bunk beds. The boys will have so much fun with that! So about the color of the wood beams on the ceiling, you could stain them a blond wood color. If you’re going to paint the walls a light gray or a coastal blue you could paint them white. If you paint the walls a cream color, match the beams with the wood floors. Just make sure the wall color makes you happy. That’s all that counts!

Tiff I would most definitely go light on walls and floor. Then to break up the light reflection paint your beams black. It would be stunning! So happy for this chapter in your life! Also 600k girl! Celebrate!!!

The bay house is such a great space, bonus next to the water …We are so happy for you and super happy because we get to enjoy it as well. Carter helping Chris is so precious, he really is a credit to you both🥰. I remember when we moved into our flat 3 years ago …😳it was not cared for and we had to roll up our sleeves and scrubs for nearly a week to get it to a state we felt ok just to walk in . You wouldn’t recognise it today and the block of 4 flats has great tenants with all of us taking pride in the outside as well make a huge difference. Remember work hard, rest harder and play as much as possible xx xxxx xx

Congratulations on your beach home! I absolutely love the kitchen cabinets...they have the perfect beachy vibe. I would definitely keep some of the "outdated" touches...it gives it such a sense of nostalgia, especially for a vacation home. I grew up vacationing on the jersey shore in an "outdated" beach house, I'm pretty sure it had the same kitchen floors, lol. I have some of the best memories there. All of those beautiful old houses sold and were torn down for condos. While big and new, they just don't have the same feeling when we go there now. This house gives me all the feels 💕

I am happy that I get to follow along on this journey seeing all the good times, while you guys create wonderful memories! I love the idea of you changing the kitchen cabinets to white and changing the counter tops, I most definitely would change out the floors . Your living space is so beautiful and I really love those wood floors, the wood beams on the ceiling are perfect I don't think you would want to go lighter with those. I would change the wall color to something more neutral. Anyway I can't wait to see how you put things together in the long run, I know it will be awesome.
