Onedari Daisakusen (Operation Beg Dad For It) is about little girls buttering up their dad's to buy the cute, shiny, and delicious things. The original version with Yui and Moa when they were younger is very cute and worth a watch. In this version, the lyrics have been slightly altered so that Moa is the elder sister advising the younger sisters about how to suck up to dad. The "I want to marry you, dad" is apparently one of those things that gets a bit lost in translation and is apparently meant to mean something more along the lines of "I want to marry someone like you, dad". OD was created as Babymetal's interpretation of the style of Limp Blzkit, and the song even has a sample of Fred Durst in it. Both Moa and Kobametal are Limp Bizkit fans. Moa said she likes Limp Bizkit because their songs are good to dance to. In the past when they performed this song regularly, fans would make fake money with Moa and Yui's pictures on them and give them out at shows so that when they chanted "Katte! Katte! Katte! Katte!" (Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!) they would throw the money up in the air. If you go to shows in Japan some of the fans still bring the Moabucks and Yuibucks to give out, even though there is no real chance of Onedari being played live. When I was in Japan last year, I was given a 10,000 Moayen note by a very generous Japanese fan.

Unlike in the "Love Machine" performance, Moa is the only adult here. Fun fact: two of the little foxes are Miko Todaka and Sakia Kimura who are part of METALVERSE now. The other two are Miyu Oshima (Ciào Smiles) and Neo Sato (also former member of Sakura Gakuin like Miko, Sakia and all the BABYMETAL ladies). And they have a lot to learn from Moa. Mikiko Mizuno, their choreographer, always praised Moa regarding her expressions on stage. She's really, really good! About THE line (yes, that needs context), it's been already said that this is an expression innocently said by little girls (3-6yo) to their dads as a form of flattery. 🤘🦊

First , this song is as old as Moa's cover of Love Machine. Secondly , people read way to much into the lyric translation. Basically it's a spoiled little girl with daddy wrapped around her finger getting whatever she wants. (And will still get it from Mom too) But people get weirded out at the "daddy I will be your bride". Why? It's actually pretty common for little boys and girls to say they are going to marry their mom or dad. Which Yui and Moa wrote when they were like 13 or so on the bus going to a show after Su bet them they couldn't write a song , I believe she may have even said about the number 4. Haha amazing reaction for Moa’s 4th of Kawaii birthday 😂. This song made a lot of sense when they were younger. Spoiled little girls pulling out the tricks of the Kawaii trade to get dad to open their wallet. They brought it back with Moa now “teaching” the younger dancers how to be tricksters. And the “I’ll be your bride, dad” line is considered flattery for girls of a certain age. The meaning gets very misconstrued upon translation in the west. 🤘🦊

He He! Some one has a crush on Moa. Who can blame you though, she so beautiful. Moa sings the in the song "Onedari Daisakusen" and it translates to "Beg-Dad-for-it operation" in the lyric translations I have seen. She is basically using her little girl brattish charms to butter dad up to get what little girls love, she sings "I love sparkling things", I love cute things". I love delicious things", and really who could resist her.

My comment is disappearing, I'll see if cutting it down helps 'Onedari Daisakusen' (your pronunciation was very close - the U is almost silent) translates as 'Big Operation Beg Dad For It'. The much younger Yui and Moa were using all the tricks and strategies very young girls would use on their fathers to get him to buy them ALL the shiny and delicious things. Flattery, shoulder massages, angelic smiles, big sad eyes etc .... and it surprises me how many people have never heard a very young child say to an older relative "I love you (insert relative) and when I grow up I want to marry you." It is entirely innocent. In this instance it is also a lie - just part of the strategy to charm Dad into opening his wallet. Obviously Moa was not a child here - but she had her 4 young apprentices, so she performed the song like she was coaching them and teaching them all the tricks so they could go and get whatever they might want from their own Dads. In some early shows fans would print currency for the country they were in, but with BABYMETAL's faces. These would be handed out in the queue and at just the right moment in the song all the banknotes would be fired up into the air like confetti.

So the lyrics are kinda weird, but the song is about a kid basically sucking up to her dad to get things she wants, and she’s a lil evil and knows how to get what she wants. The whole ‘I’ll marry you dad’ is about how she would want to marry only one man and it’s her father because she lovesssss her dad so much (she doesn’t, she just wants him to treat her like an Angel)

If you hear a little elementary school girl say that she wants to marry her dad, it is understood that she says it from her innocence, but Moametal singing it now as an adult can be something strange haha, that is why many believed that we would not hear her sing this song again time, since it was very childish and was written for little Moa and Yui to sing, but it was great to listen to it again and see how Moametal taught other girls how to ask their dads for money.

Hahaha. Moa still looks physically the same since 2019 (Moabanger). She has truly found the fountain of youth. That said, keep in mind that Onedari Daisakusen was the earliest of the four Black Babymetal songs. It first debuted live in late 2012, when Moa/Yui were then 13 so the cheeky lyrics kinda made sense in that regard. It fit in perfectly with BM's more juvenile song themes at that time. BM also wouldn't be hived off from Sakura Gakuin until early 2013, when Su was set to 'graduate' & BM (who had released only indie/digital singles up to that point) signed a record deal with Toy's Factory to release IDZ & then Megitsune. So, back then, their audience was still primarily idol & anime fans (hence obligatory fan signings & Tower Records promo events), waaayyy before Koba catapulted them squarely at the older overseas heavy metal community in mid-2014. In hindsight, Onedari Daisakusen was the first Black Babymetal song to be 'retired' as well. BM would rarely perform it again after 2015. The exceptions were, if correct, the Tokyo Dome shows in 2016 (the last time Moa/Yui did all four of their songs) & the 10th anniversary Budokan gigs in 2021 (which you've just reacted to). Even as the latter was logically done for nostalgia's sake, everyone was bedazzled at how much Moa refreshingly pulled it off with her charisma. But BM also notably designed the performance differently in 2021: a now-older Moa (who was 21) got to playfully 'lead astray' the four younger Sisterbones dancers. It's kinda like a precursor to the subsequent lore about showcasing BM in different realms. Chronologically, the Black Babymetal songs were promoted & performed live in the following order: 1. Onedari Daisakusen - primarily from Oct 2012 to Dec 2015. 2. Song 4 - primarily from Mar 2014 to Dec 2017. Abstained after Moa was forced to perform it alone (no backing dancers) at Legend S Baptism X, which was the first show Yui missed. 3. GJ! - primarily from Apr 2016 to Oct 2018. Halted after Moa performed it solo during the 2018 US tour, before Yui formally quit the group. 4. Sis.Anger - primarily from Jun 2016 to Jul 2017. Abstained when Yui was no longer available after the Five Fox Festival shows.

If I remember correctly, the whole dad/bride thing is something along the lines like how little girls wish to marry someone like their dad, but I think its a thing that some very little girls say, even here in America, about wanting to marry their dad. Of course, it's because they are so little when they say this, that it's a cute thing than a bad thing. I don't know if it's still a thing anymore, but I remember hearing this stuff when I was young (I'm 52) and I think even in old black and white movies.
