Officially licensed by McLaren Automotive Limited, this is a full-size, detailed reproduction of the steering wheel used in McLaren GT3 race cars. Updated electronics, multi-position switches, magnetic shifter, new analog paddles, white oled display! :)
Doesnt look bad! Only bad side its very plastic. But I guess thats what you get for the lower price compare to V2 and other wheels.

Small correction: The shifter paddles aren't plastic. That's aluminum. The clutch paddles are plastic as you said.

Ordered immediately! The formula V2 just feels too small for me. This is absolutely perfect for me, and I don't have to spend $400 for a used one. The revisions are perfect, and so is the price point!

Still play on my v1 and its always in my csl base. F1, gt3, lmp2 its excellent. No sweating hands issue with rubber grips and stays like new after couple years.

I agree, my V1 McLaren wheel has been my daily driver since I bought it a couple of years ago when Fanatec offered a bundle with the wheel and metal QR for a really good price and has been flawless and trouble free. I was actually worried when they discontinued the wheel that if mine were to break I would not be able to replace it. Now they have come out with a new improved V2 I have already ordered one to have one as a spare. Will probably use the V2 as my daily driver with the magnetic shifters and put my V1 up as a just in case backup.

I feel that the size and weight is what makes a difference. The way I see is like I sprung weight. Less mass for me to turn means a more precise and faster change of direction.

The Mclaren GT3 steering wheel by Fanatec, was one of the best sellers ever, I'm happy it's back and I hope it will stay on sale for a while... of course they could improve the materials and do something more but that's okay. Thanks Jadier for this video! ♥ ♥

At that price, it's a steal. The Formula Wheels are waaaaaay to narrow for GT driving. Wider handle allows for more precision. That's the reason why I bought - just recently grrrrr - the Universal Hub + GT Alcantara wheel (much more expensive).

Hello Jardier, You have both steering wheels but I realize that you mainly use the V2 formula on your GT courses on assetto corsa competizione ... Which of the two would you advise me to play especially assetto corsa competizione on PS4. I see that you are playing without the gloves too I don't like the gloves; so won't the alcantara get damaged? The grip is how ?? I have almost identical hands to yours ... And then the Formula V2 is in stock and the Maclaren GT3 is not in stock. Well help me I really don't know which of the two to choose. Have a good day.

I bought a clubsport formula carbon for my sim racing setup project, I plan to drive GT3 in the future but I red in the internet now that the McLaren Gt3 wheel is better for GT3 cars due to the bigger size of the weel.. Would you agree on that or does it also depends on the size of my hands and personal preferences? Thanks

So the shifters are different from the old one? That was the main reason for me to sell it. The shift feeling wasn’t that nice on the V1.

Really hope this is a lead in to Jardier providing feedback for the Podium-level GT3 wheel. We need a GT3 variant of the Formula V2 wheel. The 300mm diameter is perfect. Maybe even 285-290mm.

Totally agree. A ClubSport GT3 Wheel would probably even sell better than the Formula V2 since more sim racers drive GT cars instead of Formula cars.

why does no one do reviews with the standard QR, like i know it has had issues and isnt as good as the metal QR1 but its really good information to see how it comes out of the box as alot of people cant afford to upgrade and it also just explains the faults and shows why the upgrade is worth it, currently i can only find information about people breaking there's because they are using max strength with it with a strong DD base when the website says against doing that so there are no real reviews on the out of the box wheel

In ACC, I m not able to set the abs or TC into the rotary of my mclaren wheel. How have I to do? When i go into acc, for example, i rotate the rotary to 1 for abs 1, but when i rotate to 2 for abs 2 it don t works. Or simple have I to use my rotary as a + and - ( and so the position of abs 5 in rotary do not corrispond to 5 in acc). How can I set it like in your video? Thanksss

I thought this wheel came with the plastic locking mount. Did you buy a metal one or did it come with the metal quick lock for mounting?

The wheel will come with the plastic QR. The metal QR is the optional Clubsport part and cost an extra $99. If the McLaren GT3 wheel is used with a dd1 or dd2 the metal QR is required to use the high torque mode on the wheelbase with this wheel.

That's great. For this price, with rotary/multi position switches! Wow! That's why i would never buy the F1 wheel. I don't know if I will dislike the plastic feel, because that is for me one of the strong points from Fanatec normally. Will consider this will when i will buy my Fanatec gear in spring.

Well my Clubsport V2 is bit better specially with advanced paddle module so Im gonna mostly stick to that one but will use McLaren as well to test it properly!

100% thing is McLaren wheel is as entry level wheel for CSL but BMW will def be similar to Porsche - expensive but higher end :)

New advanced electronics from Formula v2, new 12 positional MPS with Encoder Function, new white instead of blue OLED, new magnetic paddle Shifters, new tool-less plastic semi-quick-release, new honeycomb structure on the inside of the Clutch pedals, better rigidity.

The screw on ClubSport QRs is optional and wont fix any problems with broken pins. Broken pins have a different root cause.

Dude.. the shifters aren't plastic :) Copied from fanatec page - The shifting mechanism is completely revised, with a longer throw and magnetic resistance for superior tactile feedback. The rocker-type paddle is made from a single piece of anodised aluminium, allowing up and down-shifting with one hand.

Actually that is not a fail, can actually upshift and downshift with one hand if you want. But the design is a copy of the shifter mechanism on the actual McLaren wheel.
