Am I the only one who immediately thought of next mutation but instead 10x better?

As a life long TMNT fan, I cannot recommend the IDW turtles enough. They take the best of the old comics, cartoons, and movies, and put a new twist on it all. If you're on the fence on it, just check it out. The showdown between Splinter and Shredder was one of the best throw downs I've ever seen. They have hard back collections that include all of the mini series and side stories in order. Keep up the good TMNT work. BTW they used the mutagen to heal another character in the past, so they knew it would work. They had a tube of it ready to heal her, but it was destroyed in an ambush, so Leo donating his blood was a last ditch effort to keep their friend alive.

The yellow headband is actually a good choice, it’s a different enough color that doesn’t seem similar at all to either of the others, and it makes sense considering her original hair color. The claws I think are also a good idea. And is definitely a marked improvement over Lisa. They didn’t give her a weapon, just some really big orbs that I think were smoke bombs that any one of them could’ve kept is like a little pellets in their belt. They didn’t even give her her own color headband just the lighter blue I guess they figured with the “body shape” they felt she look different enough they didn’t need to give her her own color headband. And as somebody who actually watched the show as a kid. I was always frustrated with the fact she never really did anything. Heck the last two episodes of the series were clip shows and one of them was focused around all of her screwup’s. and all that’s not even getting into the eew factor with the fact that they had to write into the show that none of the turtles were actually related to each other just so there could be an excuse for the guy turtles to hit on the girl turtle. What...the..hell? (even as a kid I knew that’s why they did it.)

Yeah you see that's how you introduce a fifth turtle and actually make it work. Idw fixed what the Next mutation failed at and I hope that one day maybe we can have an animated series with a fifth turtle that has a well developed story and way in introducing them properly that doesn't feel shoehorned in.

I woulda been fine with Venus, if they put actual effort into developing her properly. Which they didn't. So I'm glad Jennika is picking up where she left off.

Oh no. I have to admit I loved the old version most - 4 teenage male guys + their sensei + human friends against the world. It was the best era for me. Jennika, Venus... kids... that was the end IMHO :(

OMG I still can't believe the turtle character I made up as a child has come to light every detail is the same right down to the way she was mutated with another turtles blood!! Only I called her Galarick! This is awesome news very excited for a fifth female turtle who looks is in my eyes 100% better that the one in that next mutation series.

I'm a bit jealous... but even though my turtle design wears yellow as well, mine is a male, has brown skin, and 2 toes. Also, i have a turtle friend named Tenkai, the diamondback terrapin who wears the grey bandana. My story arc is different than Jennika's. My turtle (me as a ninja turtle) wields the spear staff.

I had turtles in the past and if I remember correctly the tmnt are red eared sliders so the only way to tell a male from a female is that the females are bigger than the males

Best guess is buying the hardcover mega-volumes, I finished each in about an hour and got up to around issue 70, including one-shots and micro-series. From there I bought the 18-20 dollar 5 issue packages of various stuff. Haven't stopped by the comic shop in a while, looks like it's time to pay it a visit... and maybe a few more after that.

Is there a graphic novel? Where can we read this online? I get why Venus looked the way she did. Just to be a bit more feminin since they are humanoid after all. Jenny should of had a white or brown banana. Or even pink as stereotypical as it is.

Dude if you aren't reading the IDW TURTLES THEN YOU ARE MISSING OUT! I have read every single turtles issue ever made including the Usage Yojimbo runs and IDW TURTLES ARE THE BEST ADAPTATIONS OF THE TURTLES EVER!!! I could go into details why this run is amazing. At this point the best way to read them are by getting the HC Vol. They are up to 8 Vol right now and Vol 9 releases next Tuesday. They collect the main run plus all the side runs like micro series, macro series, Bebop and Rocksteady, Secret History of the Foot Clan (My Favorite), Ghostbusters crossover plus alot more. Also includes Universe that is a separate run that was running at the same time with the main run and it was awesome! It includes all 25 issues. They also look great in the bookshelf and each cover is a different character with bad ass art. The books also includes bookmark string with the color of the characters. The HC aren't caught up with the main story and that's because they get released in a bundle...but once you read everything and get caught up, you could read to catch up online. Issue 96 got relase today and is showed how she reacted to her transformation. It also includes Splited acting like a Boss and taking down the mafia......pretty sure he's going to get killed next issue. 😥😥 they are also letting up to a huge mark.....100 ISSUE MARK! IDW Turtles has everything from Leonardo getting brainwashed to join the Foot Clan and fight Shredders war to space wars to different team of mutants in NY to Donatello almos getting killed........no more spoilers lolll check it out for yourself and if have any questions, dont hesitate to ask bro! 👌👌👌

Jennika's mini story in TMNT universe is great. Start from there, then read from chapter 50-ish, the rise of Splinter's Foot Clan story. Jenni's red mask is what Karai should've been. *Foot* note ;) Ah, it's been mentioned b4 that Stockman's mutagen is incomplete-ish, you need Splinter's blood too. Jennika was dying and was given the healing serum, another thing made from the mutagen. The healing serum was able to make April's dad walk again and revived Donnie's body, afaik. So healing serum+Turtle blood=turtle mutation.

Glad your interested into reading the IDW Comics there very good I always like to say that the villains and characters in the IDW TMNT comics like Bebop and Rocksteady, Slash, The Mighty Mutanimals and Krang the way they are in those IDW comics is how I would picture them would look like if they have appear in 2003. When I read this book the voices that I use for the Ninja Turtles were Leonardo-2003, Michelangelo-2003, Raphael-2003 and Donatello-1980s Barry Gordon will always be Donatello in my opinion I even use for other voices for other characters like Rat King-Mark Hamill, Stingray-Keith David I even use his voice for Mr. Null in the Archie comics, Jeff Bennett-Ace the Duck, Kevin Michael Richardson-Chi-You and Kitsune-Grey DeLisle. I'll give you some tips on how to read the IDW comics you can read it normally I mostly buy the bigger versions of them which contains more volumes like for TMNT IDW vol 1 it contains vol 1-4 so that could make the story ever faster then just getting vol 1 and then vol 2. Also when your reading IDW there are going to be stories that aren't in the volumes but you'll need to read them like the Micro Series when you arrive in Vol 5 that is when you go to Raphael's Micro Series or when you arrive to vol 24 that is when you go to Alopex micro series also when arriving to vol 20 that is when you'll read the most awesome story known as Secret History of the Foot Clan it's very awesome, you'll also need to read the TMNT/Ghostbusters both volumes for the first one read that one first before going to Attack on the Technodrome and as for the second read the Trail of Krang first before going to the second story. For others like Bebop and Rocksteady Destroy Everything that comes next after reading vol 64 and then after that Universe vol 1 which is a tie in stories to the IDW comics read all the Universe stories too there are some that are important and even Dimension X which takes place in the Trail of Krang vol 1. If you can't afford the IDW comics there is a youtube channel call Starforce Media that does voice over with the IDW TMNT comics there really good you should check it out, hope this helps you out.

Looking at that cover for the next issue 5:26 I am on board for this, I mean I know Saban tried and failed by adding in a fifth Turtle to the Heroes in the Half Shell. But seeing IDW's way of adding a fifth looks way better so here's hoping' this line-up is going to go well.

I read the idw comics, they make collected trade paperbacks and hard covers that you can pick up. It will save slot of hastle then trying to pick up single issues. You can find them on instocktrades.com or on eBay. They retail at fifty, but in stock trades has most of them for around thirty. It's a great comic, check it out!

Just today ...by looking at a fancast for this particular character "JENNIKA" on instagram ...I've just discover she was female !!! now knowing that, I feel utter dumb, odd,strange and perhaps WHAT THE HELL??? she looks great and cool ...but why is it that when it comes to making a fifth and especially a female turtle...why is Peter Laird in my head saying, they would never be another female turtle, due to the creation of Venus and how she end up being ?!!!... correct me if i'm wrong, but would that make Mr Laird a misogyny idiot or he just doesn't have an open mind of new things???

Kind of funny that Jennika has claw weapons. I'm not sure what species of turtle the boys were supposed to be pre-mutation, but male red ear and other pond/river turtles (which you'd find in pet stores) have longer claws than the females. They also have thicker tails because... well, that's where their junk is. Always thought the Mirage turtles' tails looked a bit too phallic.

I advise that you check out each volume of that comic series from a library
