How did you set up the “find my remote” feature because I can only do it from the fire tv app. Whenever I say “Alexa find my remote” she says I can’t find anything named remote??

I like the pro remote. The only feature that is glitchy is the 'find my remote' function. None of my Alexa devices can find it. Amazon support can't fix it, so they're sending me a new one. Fingers crossed that it was just a defective one, because I like everything else about it.

They updated there system. Just unplug the TV then plug it in and go to setting and click on controllers and bluetooth and it will say update controller. 👍

Do you need an Alexa device to use the find my remote feature? I don't have an Echo, etc.

from my understanding, it's the device the remote is attached to is what you need to use to find it.

I haven't tried that so I'm not entirely sure. I know you can control a cable box that you connect via HDMI to the fire TV so I would think you should be able to. The volume control works on my TV as well so all signs lead to that you can but I haven't tried it and it's not connected right now, I'm using/testing apple tv 4k and Roku ultra for a future video otherwise I would test it.

Get the fire tv app on your phone, go on the same WiFi network and you should control the fire tv to add this remote

Problem is the "find my remote feature" doesn't work if you haven't recently used your remote as it goes to sleep and won't ring, so it's useless. You obviously didn't actually test that for your review... thanks for that.

Thanks! When you add it, your old remote continues to work unless you explicitly remove it from the same place you add it by selecting the old remote and pressing the menu button to unpair

Same question. The old remote sucks ass with the extra slim fit battery cover, which creaks like a cheap Chinese toy for 3-year-old kids. Really hope someone checks this in a review so I can pull the trigger on the new Cube and this Pro remote.

It feels more premium than the other fire tv remotes, probably not even creaky and less flexible for sure but not as premium as the Apple TV 4K remote

The Pro remote feels A LOT more sturdy. What really got on my nerves (with all the old remotes) was that the battery cover wobbled around. With the Pro they finally fixed that, it does not wobble.

Yes, if you get the Fire TV app on your phone, you will see a find remote option on the top left, with this you can make the remote ring.
