A suspended top spin fits perfectly.... The extra width in that '22m' is just the diagonal supports that come down either side of a top spin. The rest of the dimensions of a suspended top spin fit the box top perfectly... Those supports, that do extend out either side, will be anchored into the 'theming structures' which are confirmed to be 'structural' in the planning documents.

Based on plans, layout, height & loading system, It's highly likely going to be a Intamin Suspended twin hammer or Huss Top Spin (Ripsaw Returns).

Here’s a thought. The two “theming structure” are the supports for a topspin. If you include length from support to support I’m sure that a topspin would be able to fit and the base is just the length of the gondola.

So happy this space is finally being used to capacity I hope whatever the ride is it isn't too intense but still thrilling for everyone

Calling it now, Ripsaw's Revenge. I reckon the actual ride "base" will be minimal/glass floor, so people walking under it can look up at the ride and people riding it can look down and see the ground/people below rather than just a ride base. The structural supports are (as others have said) probably supports for a suspended Topspin. Maybe add some nemmy tentacles coming out of the ground wrapping around the support pillars as if she's starting to expand across forbidden valley.

Almost certainly going to be a Huss suspended top spin in my opinion. Those are 13.2m tall, and 4.8 + 13.2 = 18m. The supports could be integrated into the theming pieces to fit it in.

Big stretch but I'm expecting a slightly smaller zamperla big wavez, with the tunnel under it working as a sort of splash zone to enter / exit

I honestly think we're going to see something that hasn't been announced by the manufacturer yet. Second guess is a nebulaz. Hot take, I think we *could* get a top spin again. I don't think it would sit in Fobidden Valley. Would look amazing in Dark Forest, wrangled in branches though....

Interesting vlog & video, good to see a potential new flat ride being added with a tunnel aswell, hoping it will be themed aswell both the ride & tunnel itself. Could be a flat ride which is a drop tower? That goes up and then drops riders into a water pit below, causing a splash and soaking all onboard? Could be a discuss attraction like Kobra at Chessington WOA? Is that big enough for that or too small space for that? Might not even be a flat ride, could be an indoor walkthrough? Doubt it, but who knows? Themed around Nemesis? I think it could be a water drop tower, as that would make sense it being called Project Ocean. If not? It could be a top spin? I'm not sure? I think it would be really cool to see a smaller s&s scream n swing even though it's rather loud it could have a lower height requirement and it could help people if they were nervous to do larger models like Rush

It’s a multi layer queue system for when the rest of the rides breakdown, which is constantly. You start at the top and get to the bottom only to find it’s merely the end of another queue. Project ocean is the code for oceans amount of cash you need to eat a handful of chips and a coke.

Maybe it'll form a kind of theming that'll justify the weird tonal shift between Nemesis and Air?

All I'm saying is Huss do a version of Funk 'N' Fly that fits the availible space perfectly XD I'd be surprised if it's not a susspended top spin but knowing Alton Towers I'm sure they'll do something unexpected. I think @Lifthillsandthrills has got it right regarding the project name. Putting this in with the tunnel seperates out the Nemsis area and the area with Galactica and the roller coaster resturant. I wouldn't be surprised if they turn that end into some kind of water themed zone with a full retheame of Galactica and ready for expansion on to that car park site.

I can imagine it will be a wild swing by ART Engineering. This is a top spin kind ride but for the whole family with water feature and also thrilling ride circles. Would be the perfect fit there and also a good addition to Alton Towers. You can find already existing wild swing at fantasiana in Austria and in Germany at Potts park. Also at tripsdrill will be a wild swing installed later this year. 🎉

Mondial Diablo (albeit 1m too high) or Mondial Swinger? The latter seems family thrill and very much a crowd pleaser I think …

My only gripe would be the cycle they chose! Ripsaw and Rameses were so tame compared to Danters travelling top spin. Although Rameses did have a second more intense ride (they gave riders the option to get off) I don’t remember ripsaw being all that. One thing I did notice is it didn’t age well (none of them did) 😂

What type of ride would it be, a spinning ride or a swinging ride

I’m not 100% certain, but we could be looking at one of zamperla’s water drop towers known as the Big Wavez. The structure itself stands over 70 ft tall, with a 50 ft tall drop and it creates a big splash at the bottom. That’s where the ocean part could come into play aside from the rumors of a Topspin style attraction. However, with the structure they’re building I don’t know the design specs lineup, unless Merlin and Alton towers is working on a custom design. Plus, where there’ll be a passage underneath the structure don’t know if they can dig lower to make the specs work with the tree height restriction the park has. Just some food thought, I was envisioning this when I heard project ocean. However, I think the Big wavez is also more of a water park attraction, but I think some dry parks have installed it. A water ride of some kind would be a good fit since the Flume was removed over 7 years ago in preparation for Wickerman.

Could it be something like the old sombrero ride at Drayton, they could theme it as an octopus/kraken alien type monster? It would fit in with the ocean theme. But I've no idea for sizing if it would fit to the scale?

The clamouring for flat rides at Alton Towers baffles me, to be honest. Epic Universe is opening with two in the entire park and I've not seen anyone complaining about it.

I really want it to be a huss topspin. I never got to ride one because ripsaw closed before my time and i was too scared for rameses revenge or it was closed. One time, I was about to ride and there was a powercut across the entire park!

A nebula would fit nicely if themed to nemesis and it could be black and red tentacles. Think it will be 2025 and will include a change to Galactica theming too.
