My air beam tent sleeps 8, has a full standing height central area where people can get dressed, as well as two porches where shoes etc can be left. It cost us less than £1K. It packs away into the boot of the car, leaving the tow hitch free for towing a trailer and carrying our 5 bike rack simultaneously.

The hitch mount and frame look good (presumably you can level it on a sloping pitch) but for EUR4000 its very small to holiday in, and very bulky to store! I can't help but think it would be better to lose the folding upper frame and replace it with an airbeam style tent so it is more like a trailer tent with a raised level bed area and an awning off to one side. Perhaps noseweight is an issue

All looked great until the €4k price tag. At €2.5k it competes with roof tents. €4k is valid, only if you need your roof for other cargo. Great idea, just saying they missed a trick with the pricing. It was well used & it’s the best tent I’ve ever had. It’s easy to put up & down. Put the stakes down & it’s held up by 2 outside poles. It’s never gotten wet inside & have plenty of room with my Queen airbed inside a 11’x10’ tent. Just get a car topper to put your tent in along with other things. 4 Thousand euros! No way. Good luck though, and I look forward to seeing some companies taking this example and adapting it. The concept has potential but it is only for smooth roads and not camping in rough country areas as it won't be stable enough with just the connection in the middle, going through rough stuff that throws a car around a bit, like getting onto a beach, will produce side to side motion that will twist it off the mount. I would have liked a tent that has an inflatable frame that can plug into a power adapter from a car and auto-inflate or a more innovative aluminium frame that can extend a bit higher.
