Apologize for the Steam notification sound at the 10-minute mark
"raw footage of Jansen's observations of interactions at Hansa Studios, Berlin in August 1983
all audio is captured by the camera microphone as incidental background noise
nothing edited out - cuts are analogue
(Jansen briefly filmed by anonymous handy person)"

I'm guessing that's Wayne Braithwaite on bass, Riuichi and Yuka on the couch, Steve Nye here and there, Holger Czukay doing the guitar stuff at the end, and of course the man himself having a smoke. A life changing album for me...

Nice. I'm a big fan of Can and have Czukay's first solo record "Canaxis" (just put it on the turntable), but I wouldn't have realised that's Czukay unless you had written this, because I'm not familiar with the album. Guess I should check it out!

Great to have this back on YT. Around the 5m mark the bass player is killing. Clearly a Jaco inspired line but the changes are great. 80s chorus on the bass too. Wonderful.

Wayne Braithwaite, session player that appears on several hundred recordings for all kinds of labels. Died in 1991 in his early thirties from lupus, of all things.

@@MammaApa Well he plays a cracking line on 'Red Guitar'. Still love it. Where else can I find good examples of his playing?

@@visog Try Stanley Jordan's first album, Magic Touch I think it was called, or Billy Ocean's hit When The Going Gets Tough, which was in fact co-written by Wayne (killer bassline). The man was as infliuential as Marcus Miller (and born on the same year!) but passed away way too soon and therefore doesn't really have the credit he deserves. Funny to have him on a Sylvian album, a bit unexpected, I do suspect David was trying to move as far as he could away from Mick Karn's unique style.

@@jackcimino8822 the synth of my dreams (I use Repro 5 emulation instead, sounds very cool). Solo Sylvian albums that features the Prophet? I don't know, I should do some research. But I love what Ryuichi Sakamoto did with it in his latests albums

Is it me or the song they're working on at the beginning is not featured on the album? I can't recognize it, although this album changed my life and my way to "see" the music.
