Welcome back, Very Cool Gang! In today's video, Vince from VCG Construction unboxes and tests out the next generation of DeWALT's framing nailer, the DCN 920P1. This new 21-degree plastic collated framing nailer is designed to solve major issues faced by contractors and DIY enthusiasts alike.
At the recent World of Concrete event, Vince got hands-on with this impressive tool, and now it's time to see how it performs in real-world conditions. We'll go through the unboxing, checking out the included accessories like the XR 5 amp hour battery, rapid charger, and sturdy carrying bag. Then, we put it to the test with various types of nails, including the notoriously tough 3-inch ring shank nails.
Key features include:
Brushless motor technology for longer runtime and durability
Tool-free depth adjustment for precise nail placement
High-capacity magazine that holds up to 36 nails
Lightweight design at only 8.65 pounds
Does this new DeWALT framing nailer live up to the hype? Watch the full video to find out and see if it’s the right tool for your next project. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more tool reviews and construction tips from VCG Construction.

I just got the new DEWALT 20V MAX 30 Degree DCN930B framing nailer like month or so ago and I am loving it over the previous nailer. The bump fire is perfect and the no mar tip is a game changer for me I have shot over 11,000 nails threw it with no issues as of yet. Coming from the newer Pasload XP & metabo HPT. The new Dewalt is great for my so I can go from framing to putting on the no mar tip so I can do finished outside sheathing. Note: works best with a 4amp or 5amp or 5amp power stack battery

It's about time. I went through 2 of the old ones while they were brand new. Could barely run through 1 rack without constant jams. Just ate it and sold mine. I use the M18 now. It's heavy. But she drives hard and has Never jammed.

Make sure to find out how many nails can be shot through the nailer. Because on their M18 finish nailer they wouldn't warranty mine after a year and a half owning one because I'd put too many nails through it!

@@Crxpert1 they sure don't advertise it on the packaging. They don't advertise it having a 3 year warranty and not a 5 like all their other tools. Had I known all that I would've bought the Hitachi/Metabo HTP finish nailer and brad nailer. At least those you can refill them yourself. Milwaukee uses compressed nitrogen instead of compressed air. They claim it's for rust prevention but I think it's another way to keep you from keeping a tool working after the warranty and they hope you'll buy another one or pay to have them refill it every year. Because even if you don't use the tool it slowly bleeds off the pressure in the vessel.

@@mattburns2968 DeWalt Gen 1 could do 100 000 nails before flywheel was end of its life , i dont think quality has gone up , remember its all mechanical nailer that run oil free, its gonna wear out. My experience with new DeWalt nailer was also bad , rented framing nailer , brand new Gen 2, that tool rental company had just got, about 100 nails and it refused to work again , there was no jammed nail , flipping that lever did not help, it was dead .

It's heavier, but I like my Milwaukee Finishing Nailer. Haven't bought one of their framing nailers yet. Between Milwaukee and Dewalt both have pretty good tools some a bit better than others. I don't want to have 7 different types of batteries for 7 different types of tools, but I do carry both Milwaukee and Dewalt.

Ha, ha! Switching to the Dark Side. I feel that if you can get a good, robust tool and it works and can last, that's a good tool and it doesn't really matter who the mfr is. The only thing holding us back are the batteries. I started out with Dewalt and switched to Milwaukee. At work, I use Makita. These are all perfectly good brands, with totally solid tools. I mean Ryobi has made great improvements! I don't really care about brands, per se, but it has to be a quality tool that won't fail after ten usages. I'm a home gamer, so my usage is different than a contractor, but I prefer to buy a quality tool that I know will last.

Milwaukee neeeds gen 2 framer for sure at this point. Gen 1 16g had alot to be desired, but gen 2 is amazing. So hopefully they can slim down gen 1 framer and make the tip more like paslode. I would definitely pick one up then if it was smaller and lighter I think id go further and say Milwaukee needs to make all their nailers on m12 platform. M18 is just not needed, just adds bulk for no reason. If m12 can run that new gutsy stubby it can run a nailer imo.

That thing is so huge it looks like it's designed for some giant alien species from the Halo universe. I mean it's comically large. With a battery it's gotta weigh near 10lbs as well. The magazine pokes out in a weird way as well as other parts of it. You'll never get that monstrosity into any tight areas. I still think Paslode is the best cordless framing nailer that exists. I've literally abused the crap out of mine for over 10 years and it still works like the day I bought it. It's light (barely over 7 lbs) and it's super compact and easy to wield overhead or in tight areas. No bump mode on mine, but whenever you pull the trigger the nail shoots. So as quick as you can pull the trigger you can shoot nails. I clean the gun about 2-3 times a year. Takes about 10 minutes to clean and oil it. The gun is so we'll built... No cheap feeling plastics or parts. The depth adjustment is simple and the gun just doesn't jam. My buddy has one of DeWalt nailers and the things is a joke in my opinion. That little delay between trigger pull and nail firing is something you never adjust to. Makes it tiring to use because you have to hold pressure on it longer after pulling the trigger, be just giving a quick thrust of pressure asking with the trigger pull.

The windup cordless ones are just too slow. I have raced kids framing walls and am quicker with my hammer. I had a pasload when they first came out, but couldn't use it for anything except pickup because of the clipped heads. They also nail about half as fast as my original Hitachis. I am all for cordless tools if it is to put some blocks in and things like that. For actually framing a house I plug my saw in and roll out the airhose.
