@Ichabod Crane minelabs overpriced ? The vanquish is cheaper than the apex and a far better machine in a field or park scenario, you can pay thousands for machines that are nothing to do with minelab , I think you need to do some research regarding this matter and how machines work in general , take that Apex into iron infested soil and you will see , they love deep iron 😉

yes i agree 100% as a long time ATPro user I was sad this wasnt a true Nox killer but they did it on purpose. We shall see a Garrett AT Apex or maybe Apex Pro series soon, smart move by them. Another reason they wont end up like others, out of business.

I have one and hate it. Unless the coin is 2" or less the VDI jumps all over the place. Sure it will find stuff but you will have zero clue what it is until you dig it up. I have heard that putting a raider coil on it will make it a better machine, but should you have to?

A real good entry level detector, so too the Cont' Multi-IQ ML Vanquish. Sadly, the technology of both is massively compromised by their lack of submersible/100% water-proofing omissions. Crazy. Renders them both nigh on useless in the creeks, and most importantly, salt -water environs. Pity that.

@@sscindercoop True words. Just my opinion. . Do not get me wrong, I am not promoting any MD, I just feel, for me, it can be done, and it isn't financially constraining. If I were to buy a 21st C entry level MD for my boy, for sub £350? Waterproof. Robust. Work-man like. It'd be false economy not to.
@Ferrous_Bueller
@Ferrous_Bueller 3 жыл бұрын
Tim Rogers you’re thinking like a consumer, not a manufacturer. Waterproofing the Vanquish would cannibalize sales from The Equinox 600, and 800 to a degree.
@KernowekTim
@KernowekTim 3 жыл бұрын
@@Ferrous_Bueller Yep, I can see your point man to a certain extent.... Mind you, waterproofing Simplex hasn't 'Impact'-ed or negated Multi-Kruzer/ Anfibio sales though, no more than waterproofing F22 and F44 made a dent on the higher end FTP Md's. It simply made them a more 'rounded ' option as intro level MD's....Just my lil ol' opinion man.... It is what it be..I just swing them for hours on end!. The best of wishes to Garrett; Mine Lab too. They are greatly respected by an awful lot of people... I ran a 800 hard for 2+ years. Hard stubble/stalk/wood and plough...Great tech for sure, but it kept having component parts breakages, over and again... Sadly, I had to sell it off cheaply, and revert back to my original MD. Gutted wasn't the word after waiting many moons to get my hands on one of the second batch. Maybe mine was gubbed though? Stay safe fella. You do a great video.
@Ferrous_Bueller
@Ferrous_Bueller 3 жыл бұрын
@@KernowekTim Definitely appreciate your opinion, I like gabbing about detectors so always fun to discuss. In regards to the Vanquish, I can put it in greater perspective and why Minelab doesn't have the incentive to waterproof compared to the companies you mentioned. Minelab has always dominated the high end high price detector market, and they've been slowly dabbling in the low end. Minelab doesn't have any incentive to waterproof the Vanquish, because that would start cannibalizing sales from the Equinox. FTP has always dominated the low end market, and they are the king of low end big box sales. FTP detectors are sold in every Dicks, Walmart, Costco, etc etc etc all over the U.S. Adding water resistance (not waterproofing, the F22 and F44 are only resistant like the Apex) only serves to upsell their dominant position in the low end of the market. Nokta-Makro is in a different position, as they weren't really defined until the Simplex. They tried to dominate in the mid-to-high end market, which they started doing really well in until the Equinox dropped and took the wind out of their sails. Then the Simplex dropped and gave them a huge position in the low end market...for them it made sense to waterproof a low cost detector to capture a position they didn't have. While Nokta_Makro had a slow but growing loyal following, the Simplex is what put them on the map and opened them up as an option to the common man that didn't live on detecting forums and super into the hobby. A good buddy of mine that is a dealer said that the Nokta-Makro North Amercia manager told him that the Simplex was a massive seller, but undercut their other offerings like the Anfibio and Kruzer, but they hope to recapture that mid-to-high segment with a multi-frequency waterproof unit. So in effect, I believe that what we are both saying is correct, just correct for different companies.

My brother bought one to replace his Ace 400. He had it about 2 weeks before he sent it back. It will only ID coins accurately to about 2 inches in the ground, after that the ID numbers bounce all over the scale. And the depth maxes out around 6 inches. The Ace 400 is easily a couple inches deeper with more stable ID at depth.
