My idea for what luffy will go for is he will conqouer his own devil fruit with his haki letting him access the true form of gear five cause currently gear five looks like it’s made of clouds so this true form would be looking like he has fused with the sun and then after that he makes two forms of gear five being gear five speed and gear five power based on gear 2 and 3 respectively then his final form is a combination of everything

The sun is actually white, it just looks yellow because of our atmosphere

I feel like the mother flame we've seen in the latest chapter is a replica of what the actual mother flame is supposed to be but since we all know it's man-made then it's pretty much self explanatory Now I feel like Luffy will indeed consume the real motherflame and by doing so it will be the missing key in unlocking joyboys true potential but I feel the risk is Luffy dying due to him consuming the motherflame Just like how fire needs oxygen to keep it's flames lit and how Luffy always needs to eat in order to regain his stamina I feel like these 2 traits even though they seem random has meaning to it The reason I say this cause I feel like the first joyboy did this and died from it and it's why joyboy wasn't able to finish what he started during the void century I feel this is also why the robot and zuesha kept apologizing cause they allowed joyboy to die without properly helping him accomplish his goal Now rest assure cause there is a way from Luffy to come back Yep that's right..... law's devil fruit since it has the ability to give someone eternal youth But I think this isn't laws true ability cause if it was the case the 5 goresi and imu wouldn't allow such a fruit to end up in the pirates hands so why haven't they went after it? Cause it isn't the true ability of the devil fruit but rather has the ability to bring someone back to life in exchange for the user We all know law narrowly escaped Blackbeard's and if he ends up elbaf then it will kinda confirm my theory Now back to law I believe law's devil fruit doesn't give a user immortality but rather has the ability to bring someone back to life cause if it truly had an ability to grant someone immortality then imu and the goresi would do everything in there power to safeguard this devil fruit and keep it within there circle to prevent it from getting they hands on it Now one would say if it does bring someone back from the dead then they would definitely keep it to use on one another but think about it Why would they need a devil fruit to bring them back to life if they already can't die It makes no sense for them to keep it since they already achieved immortality which brings us back to my theory on why Luffy will die after consuming the motherflame(not right away but after the big fight) and law would use his ability to bring Luffy back to life Where is the motherflame?? I believe it's on elbaf We all saw how big the machine is that has the replica motherflame in and in order to hid the real mother flame it would have to be in a place with a big and tall infrastructure and no other place would be perfect for this besides elbaf

Truly there are a couple ways this can go, either he eats mother flames and gets rid of one of his most detrimental weaknesses which is his energy or stamina issues, OR he snaps out of his Atreus syndrome. Incase you don't know what Im saying, Atreus is a character from God of War 4 which suffered drawbacks he'd had from birth which was resolved once he knew of his origins. In other words instead of Atreus fighting like a God or a giant he was fighting like a human and it nearly costed his life. I can see this maybe being the case especially when we look at these two examples, awakened Rob Lucci knows the power he got, hes not pretending to be some house cat and instead he uses the power of his leopard devil fruit as should be, meanwhile luffy is still using the Nika fruit as of it where the gum gum fruit which may explain why in the heck lucci can just, stand up like normal after getting clapped multiple times in his and Luffy's fight. Meanwhile luffy gasses out, turns old, he is limiting himself unknowingly and can do so much more than what he can already do. Of course this is my argument but there is two more options, which can be both of these things happen, or can be none of it happening. At the end of the day Im here to gush at the chapters, world building and story telling of Oda sensei.

The interesting thing about the yonko is that kaido and shanks both utilize combination haki types. Shanks uses conqueror and observation haki as one and kaido used conqueror and armament as one. Truthfully theres only one form of haki split into 3 understandings. The reason Roger wasnt the one is because the goal is not only "one piece" but one haki too. I wonder if you need the body from the nika fruit to be able to use true haki (all three forms as one: here higher enlightment from roger or luffy) roger didnt have the fruit and thats why he wasnt the one. This is probably what shanks will tell luffy in Elbalf when Luffy learns conqueror + observation haki. There could be a gear 6 but the haki upgrade is more likely. Luffy probably cant damage the gorosei because they are using all three as one or they have that extension because of imu. (Lower enlightment) Luffy represents the self that is free gear 5 being the higher self (higher enlightment) . Imu represents the self that seeks to control seen as the lower self. They have the same goal but from different perspectives (imu = I am you) When Luffy combines all 3 forms of haki he will be the true self and the most powerful because he will be the most free. No longer shackled by body (armament) mind (observation) or soul (conqueror) he will be what he always has been. The spirit or truth of freedom
