The following isn't meant as a criticism at all... just food for thought. Mattel doesn't really care what we think of their products or how we talk about it. They only care whether or not we buy them in large numbers. So we can say "This is way too expensive" and "Where is the story? Who even is this character?" and "The unpainted plastic makes it look so cheap" all day long, but if we buy these things that we consider overpriced and not quality, this is the only message that we ultimately send to Mattel: "We will buy whatever you release, at any price you want to charge."

she feels like a good playline doll. at the beginning of the stream announcing her they talked about collecting like it was a competition and i feel like thats REALLY reflected in the price and unwilling-ness from Mattel to let people pre-order and make enough dolls for the people that want them, instead we need to fight scalpers and its honestly making being a MH fan kinda hard

What i got from the poem , is that she was a human , that entered the a garden surrounded by Boogie Sand, anyone staying in the garden for too long would turn into a ghost, but garden too pretty so she didn't leave, the end.

I skipped this doll entirely. For $75 you don't even get half the experience as opening a new playline character in 2010.

She’s a beautiful doll. Out of my price range but I love her face but I hadn’t even realised they were flowers on the plastic detailing with it being unpainted. Gardens with ghosts would have had me stretching my price range to want her I think if the flowers were painted and the garden aspects of her had been more obvious . Imagined textile vines and leaves and the plastic flowers painted. It could have been stunning

I love her I know she’s not everyone’s favourite which is really understandable tbh everyone likes different things but I can’t wait for mine to arrive it’s gonna take a long time tho since I’m from the UK 😭💖

I want to put my $75 for the Toralei and the hissfits pack . The hard decisions we have to make when we love Monster High. But I cannot wait to see what the other designers will do with their dolls.

Im down for anyones opionion but when its nothing but bashing without any critiques, i just cant get behind that. I for one think shes beautiful and im glad i ordered two of her. I know people are disappointed but its peoples choice not to spend the money. Her face alone was probably a big part of the budget. The amount of shading and contour makes her stand out from the rest. Im sorry but we never got that much detail in the face for a G1 playline doll. People keep comparing her to Amanita and Twyla and i just dont see it. Completely different color stories. I feel like Amanita was more plant/flower themed and Lenore is based on the garden as a whole. Im hoping she arrives either tomorrow or tuesday because i really cant wait to wash her and fix up her hair. Im very happy with her and i hope Rebecca Shipmen knows that theres people out there that generally love this doll regardless of all the negativity towards Lenore.

I watched the presentation in the Mattel Creations reveal video. There are a lot of glow in the dark elements that are part of the box and hopefully the plastic on the doll is also glow in the dark. Lenore is a poem by Edgar Alan Poe, and also the one who is mourned in the Raven, she is the ghost of a beautiful young bride who died of consumption. The artist who designed the spider is named Arpi so that is what I will call the Spider,

She's very pretty and i would probably buy her for $30 - $40. BUT. Her dress is overall too dark ( some silver detailing on the edge of her peplum to define it might help?) and she looks blobby ( your images are a billion times better than Mattel's - what were they thinking?). Her undetailed turquoise/ teal accessories are not it, maybe doing a dark wash on them would help, but who wants to have to spend time detailing their $75 doll? The headdress is cute, but there needs to be a few other spots of bright pink on her outfit to make it fit in, instead of looking like just some random thing that just got dropped other head. Her shoes are the wrong color pink, so they do not help tie her outfit together. ALSO, like you said, she has no lore, no backstory - who is she and why should I care about her?

Well you paid closer to $90 than $75 with all the tax and shipping Mattel tacks on. Couldn't be me, not for this ghoulie.

She reminds me more of a gen 2 doll. I would like to see the next one experiment with a new type of body. Like the skullectors have the esence of an already existing character, while she is just another doll but expensive

She’s really growing on me, i really love the bats on her dress and her face is so cute.

The shimmering pearly skin is reminiscent of Abbey's, only Abbey's is blue, of course. I like that. With just the black mini slip dress, she's very goth. 👍 And yes, absolutely, the lack of a back story and no preliminary hype, definitely contributed, I think, to so many folks feeling underwhelmed about the release. 👍

I love her a lot more in person. The photos really didn't do her justice. What I am pleased about is how fast the shipping was! She ended up on my doorstep the day after purchase. Mattel just set itself a new standard that I hope it sticks to in terms of distribution.

so my understanding is, this is a designer series loosely based off of Edgar, Allan Poe Poems and each of the dolls that come out with this are one of the poems designed by a different designer

I do like Lenore and I think she’s beautiful…. But to call her a new character which she really is cause she was created 😅 and not come with a diary 📔 to know her better and know about her it makes her a bit off from the Ghouls we known so far 🤷🏻‍♂️. But she’s cute 💙💜💙.

She IS pretty.. her screening is gorg (minus the glitter tears). I just hate that this is their take on a "garden ghost." I just feel like you should be able to glance at the doll and understand the theme, and I don't think she delivers with that. Even seeing her in detail I don't get the vision. I like both her dresses, I love her screening, I love her pet lol... but the plastic accessories kind of all suck imo. Like you were saying, it really could've used some painted detail, I feel like that could've saved her from the critisism she's been getting. Also yes, she makes way more sense for $45, $75 feels like a robbery.

just pausing and commenting right here to say i HATE that "story" on the back of the box like wth 😭 it reads like it's ai generated or written by someone who did not care at all, those rhymes were so forced and it barely made sense, like a low effort children's book 😭 sorry i'm just shocked... can't they give us some real lore for a brand new character?

What makes this worse is that there is so many Monster High dolls that do pricepoint , ghost theme, garden theme or victorian theme significantly better then her.
