👆 Introducing the NEW Gibson Generation Collection, Gibson's most affordable acoustic guitars! Based on classic Gibson models, such as the J-45, or the J-200, these new acoustics are American made & considerably more affordable! | tinyurl.com/yjp3p2ua
» Gibson Generation Collection G-00 Acoustic | tinyurl.com/yhqbmem2
» Gibson Generation Collection G-45 Acoustic | tinyurl.com/yeq5drwt
» Gibson Generation Collection G-Writer EC Electro Acoustic | tinyurl.com/ydnejyko
» Gibson Generation Collection G-200 EC Electro Acoustic | tinyurl.com/ygzpqd2e
The Gibson Generations Collection sits between £899 & £1799 depending on the model. We're not saying that's cheap but all of them have a solid spruce top, solid walnut back & sides, utile neck and a stripped ebony fingerboard. The G-Writer and G-200 also have pickups! Now that's already a lot of guitar, but that's not it... They're also made in America in the same factory as the core models. The Generation Series also features Player Ports, an extra sound hole on the side of the guitar for even more immersion!

I think the so-called Player Port mic placement would ideally be in the middle between the edge of the port and line-of-sight to the strings. This gives the closest approximation of what the player hears with regard to harmonics coming off the strings plus the direct sound from the port. Interesting guitars. I'd like to try a G-45 to compare with my 2001 Martin Road Series DR.

Each individual guitar regardless of model should sound a bit different if these really are handmade with solid pieces. One of one model may sound uncharacteristic of what is expected. I very much recommend not buying one unless you’ve heard it. And considering how wide the playability is with acoustics, I’d recommend you it as well.

Acoustic guitars are such an enigma. Go to a handful of guitar shops and play only $3,000 gibsons. Then go back around to all of them and play every used acoustic. 90% of the time you can find a different brand that plays and sounds just like a gibson for under $200. Even if you dont find one, you can really get a better undrstanding of the variety and many differences for such simple guitars. The best acoustic ive played as far as sound and playability is an Ibanez from the 90's. Even compared to Gibsons. Spectacular.

Great guitars if they didn’t have the player port, but then they wouldn’t really be much different to the first G range which was quite a bit cheaper. Shame Gibson had to discontinue the original Gs and the J15 because of margin
