Thank you for the great review. It helps me a ton when I need to put mine back together after cleaning. I have the SPA3 with the straight mags with the metal on top. I had frequent jamming due to the design of the mags. Global Ordinance replaced all three mags, at no cost, with ones that are curved and I haven't had a single jam or misfire since. Their customer service has been great--something you rarely find these. Keep up the good work!

I bought one of these a year ago pretty much off of your review of it. I'll be finishing up a lot of 2.5k rounds through it while I am off for Christmas Break. I reload and have been running a Lee 124gr TC bullet that I cast from wheel weights and Powder coat. I have used 3.8grs of Tightgroup exclusively with this bullet in this pistol. That's all that has been fed through it save for some Ranger T +p to show function. It's been a pretty good gun. It got it with the brace but I have been using a single point sling off the rear lately and like it better pushing it out. I have both the curved mags and 2 of the straight ones that came with it. All of the mags I have run great. I'd like to try one of their more traditional pistols for range use and just for the hell of it.

Superior review! Just subscribed to your channel. One improvement Stribog could make is to come up with a way to retain the roller delay pin so that it does not fall out and get lost when the bolt carrier assembly is out of the gun. MP5 rollers are retained as you probably know.

Just bought mine (SP9A3S) and took possesion of it today. I keep taking this firearm apart to just get famliliar with it and especially the operating system. This really is a fantastic gun. Dry firing 40 times I felt the trigger was satisfactory and AR'sh. After shooting 20 rounds or so the trigger felt completely different, (enough that I stopped firing) the little bit of "mush" before the break completly disappeared. The trigger lightened a bit and smoothed itself out to be an amazing trigger after 100 rounds. Mags are solid feeling and no concerns there (curved). Refined and amazing gun. Great review and field strip, thanks!

One more thing.. So I understand the straight mags are a problem but what about the 20 rounder's?? I would like to run a few of the 20 round mags for vehicle/storage.. any idea how they run?
@GBGuns
@GBGuns 2 ай бұрын
@shanehoward4197 most of the "problems" with the straight mags were caused by the owners. Don't smash the mag in on a closed bolt and Don't smack up on the magazines like someone who can't tell if they've seared a mag. The fix with the curve mags isn't the curve as much as it is the overrated stop bump they molded on the spine of the magazine.

This A3 is awful. I have had 2 of the A3’s since they came out. Both had chronic malfunction issues. A downgrade from the A1 for sure. Thought I had bad luck until I researched it on youtube. Chronic issues with other owners as well. I would rather have the internals from the A1 inside the A3, but it can’t be switched. Removal of the ejector rod from the buffer in the A3 design was a major mistake.

Put two magazines through my A3 yesterday. Recoil impulse is pleasant. I think it looks cool. Magazines suck to load, trigger is mediocre at best, bolt release needs the HBI upgrade. If it doesn't make 500 rounds without a hiccup I'll sell it and get a better gun. Lots of reliability issues with the new design. If I don't have issues, I'll keep it and do something with the trigger and switch bolt releases.

@GBGuns
@GBGuns 2 жыл бұрын
I hadn't seen it before, and don't know if there's any official response. Things that I noticed is he used mostly 115gr, if his gun had the original locker in it that could cause issues. I also noticed he likes to smack his mags on a closed bolt. That damages feed lips and can cause cycling and feeding issues.

Hold on, looking at that roller-delayed bolt... it looks like it could just drop into one of the newer A1 Stribogs (my model is one of the newer A1's that has that same single-rod buffer as the A3). Is there any noticeable internal structural changes between an A1 and A3?? The upgrade being that simple would be heavenly

Abel Morales What defines an A2, if I may ask?
@AMx39
@AMx39 4 жыл бұрын
Andrew Ryan well it’s technically still an A1 but they have eliminated and extra rod that attaches from the 3 piece buffer to the bcg. The New version/ 2nd gen “A2” has a 1 piece buffer pad and a captivated recoil spring. I read here and there that this was done to have it be compatible with the A3’s roller delayed system. From what I’ve seen on some videos and pictures, they seem like they’d be interchangeable. How true this is, well I don’t know but there are very strong similarities.

I've been waiting for this gen3 stribog to come out before deciding between it or the AKV but after watching mr.gunsngear video on this it seemed pretty disappointing. Especially with the bullets falling back into the gun and fouling it up if you dont point it down when you clear the jam.

You can even stop an AK by doing the same thing, tilt the barrel up and roll the gun to the left, then charge it slowly. I think he had a brain fart, MAC did the same thing.
@rhaynesify
@rhaynesify 4 жыл бұрын
That issue was addressed on the AKV and was brought up on previous generations of the Stribog. The new generation of mags seems like it’s going to have issues as well based off my experiences with the Prepper Gun Shop/Manticore mags of a similar design for the CZ scorpion. The plastic tabs holding on the feed lips will break causing the steel to separate from the plastic body. That roller should also be retained instead of instantly falling out of the gun during disassembly. Seems like it is also extremely susceptible to filth entering the system around the roller. I was extremely excited for this thing, but now I’m just disappointed about all the wasted potential.

Question. In one of your videos you shot magtech 92.6 hollow point from your stribog. I believe you shot 3 rounds and it ran fine. Have you ran anymore of that specific ammo? I have been seeing mentions of failures with certain hollow points in forums. I just scored about six boxes of these but haven't ran them yet due to ammo shortages. If they dont run well I will probably end up trading them off for price equivalent in ball. Anyone else's input on the matter would be greatly appreciated also.

Hey man, I think you got the roller delay mechanism backwards. When the bolt closes, that forward piece continues forward and the pin drops down into a groove. This locks the bolt in place, with the pin down, and it leaves a gap between the BCG and that separate piece. When firing, the delay comes from that pin needing to move upwards. Because the cam surface on the forward piece is angled, it gets pulled close to the BCG again, closing the gap, and letting the pin move upwards and out of the groove. The same is why the charging handle works: you pull it, and it pushes the gap between the forward piece and the BCG together. Which allows the pin to get out of the way. Great video otherwise!
