I know, I loved making them! Unfortunately, Dexter passed away unexpectedly this past November. I may put together a tribute video for him at some point soon. Thanks so much for watching, I would love to make more in the future with our younger pup, Marty!

Great video. I lead hikes for the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) and this video gives prospective hikers a good feel for what the trail is like. Also thought giving the history of the fire towers was good to include. Finally, liked the name of your dog!

*Please Note* The "Chimney" as shown at 10:12 is actually the bypass to The Chimney. The actually chimney is seen at 9:03 and the bypass to the bypass is what I describe at 9:44. I apologize for the confusion!

Cool video! Dexter seems like the perfect hiking buddy! I’ve climbed all 48, photographing and videotaping them. However, I’ve never taken a drone up there. Although your drone footage was awesome, can I assume you do that midweek, since most hikers/backpackers that I’ve experienced are against drone use in wilderness areas like the Whites. Just wondering, as I’d like to get into that, but I don’t want to offend lots of people on the trail. Looking forward to trying your beers.

I enjoy your videos a lot and have hiked all 48 twice, into round 3 now. I have to tell you East Osceola may have a wooded summit, however, just beyond it there is a good overlook to the right and beyond that after a steady down hill for about .1 or .2 there's another fabulous one in the left, on a little mini foot path on the left, just before the steep descent to the right on a section I call the shute. I have hiked up both ways and prefer the route from Greeley Ponds. It is very steep. I like to call it short and sweet. :)

Thanks for all of the feedback, and for watching the videos! I actually have hiked from Greeley in winter and its a lot of fun. I may actually get back to East this winter to do a glissading video :-)

Hey thank you for doing these videos of the New Hampshire’s 48! Wondering if you know of any books that can link a few of these on the list as this is next on my list to do after my (section) hike on the Appalachian Trail is completed (2/3’s done so far).

Hey PM, thanks so much, I have fun making them! And the main book that I use for information on the 4,000 footers is called "The 4,000-Footers of the White Mountains" by Steven D. Smith & Mike Dickerman. There are also lots of forums that you can find where people discuss these hikes and how to connect many of them together. Most of the trails in the Whites connect and allow for endless backpacking opportunities. Hope that helps!

Excellent content. Love the aerial shots. BTW, pronunciations: COL rhymes with call (ball, hall, wall, etc); Tripoli sounds like triple eye.

Thanks for the information on pronunciation, and for watching! The drone shots are my favorite, I'll admit. I love seeing the mountains from a different perspective.

I gotta ask how do u do with ticks up there? Any issues staying on trail?
@GettsWild
@GettsWild 4 жыл бұрын
Trails are well traveled and well marked in the White Mountains, but people go off trail accidentally every year, usually it happens above treeline where it can be more difficult to tell the trail. Ticks can be pretty bad in certain areas of NH, but I haven't had much trouble with them while on trail hiking the 4,000 footers.
