DangerouslyFunny it looks like they are re-using characters and graphics and controls and same harvest sprites with the same names from the lost valley and tetorials just a bit shorter from a new beginning. This is terrible and a disgrace to the harvest moon series

Anything after "A New Beginning", Harvest Moon games are now shit. I recommend "Story of Seasons" instead. It's the same team - kinda - but their the ones who focus on the stuff we like (Trio of Towns is my current favorite actually) but there mainly DS/3DS games... Regardless, I'm sorry you got this game. It's the worst so far since the developer/franchise split up. SoS is the franchise you want to follow now, not Harvest Moon. (as I'm sure everyone else has told you xD) EDIT: Story of Seasons, the first one, may be to your liking. It has your own farmland, but it also has fields you can "rent" and compete to gain access too. It adds farmland to your liking for certain crops, but it also adds "competition" to your routine to help keep you motivated. SoS: Trio of Towns: is enjoyable. it adds 3 different variations of towns for you to help out and they contain different cultures. This ones nice to keep variety instead of a single enviroment. This is my fave, but you may prefer the first one.

They need to port Story of Seasons to other Platforms. Stardew Valley proved that PC and Console gamers are in fact interested in Farming games so Story of Seasons devs would be able to make some extra money by selling this game on Steam and consoles.

SeboTrzyDe3D have fun editing SoS so that it works without a touchscreen.

Here's hoping marvelous and x seed think to make a main console one and bring it to PC. With the rise of the switch even if the 3ds family life span lasts a few years more they'll need to move forward with what they develop for.

I really hope that with after the boom of farming titles we see in the making on PC after Stardew that we see Story of Seasons make the jump. If they do develop for the switch its just a jump in power form the 3ds line that it seems like it be easy to port to PC as well.

Small correction: *Natsume* stopped doing localizations, and *Natsume* kept the rights to the name. *Marvelous* continues to churn out Bokjou Monogatari games.

EXACTLY what I came here to say. Everyone is railing on Harvest Moon; it didn't die, this is just a doppelganger, & a bad one at that. Story of Seasons is still amazing & Marvelous is doing, well, marvelously.

If you don't know anything about HM or don't know much about it, how the hell are you supposed to know that the new HM games are not the same as the new HM? If I didn't know about HM I would personally just assume "Oh, they're all called HM and they're all farming games, must be a new game in the same series". (alhough I do actually know about the change). Natsume must be making huge amount of money based on the fact they share the same name as the original HM games, despite the fact they're basicly just crappy knock-offs.

To be fair, if you didn’t know about the change, how tf would you know? Like I loved the series so I looked into it several years ago and kept track, but someone who didn’t play it or only played it because they had it (like my sister), would have no way to know unless they looked into it. It’s not like the cover art is “NOT the original harvest moon creators!” Written on it. They’re purposely piggybacking on the name, because again, if you don’t know and aren’t passionate about it, you aren’t looking into it.

Yeah no, I don't care if the original developers went to another game this is pathetic. Any sane person could make a decent Harvest Moon game, just involve farming, potential spouses, interesting people in the town and the likes. I could make a better game than this. This, however, is worse than shameless cash grabs and knock offs for mobile, really I don't even know what to say about this. I mean I get the feeling a single person made this over a few months, but that isn't the case so I really don't know...

Bethany Monges I know. I'm saying that the developers of this game, regardless of any previous involvement to any actual Harvest Moon games, should have easily made a better game than this. I'm not saying they could make a masterpiece, but anyone who plays this can immediately tell what is wrong with this crap from the start. So unless these people are genuinely retarded, or didn't give a shit and wanted money (even though there has to be SOME level of quality to assure a profit), there's no way they couldn't have realized what a mess this was before release. Again, Harvest Moon type games are very easy to make, and there were dozens of games already released to use as an example for what to do with this game; like this should have been the easiest money maker ever if they just copied previous Harvest Moon games! But nope, this was clearly made by idiots... 😂

@@Xxsorafan That's not entirely correct. They weren't fired, they just switched to a different publisher. Story of Seasons isn't a new series. It is Harvest Moon, they just couldn't call it that because Natsume still owned that name. I know this comment is old, but I still wanna correct that.

All the original devs are gone and working on Story of Seasons. That's the reason for all they above.

It's because Natsume fired the guy who truly created the Harvest Moon games and this is them doing their own games now without him. He created his own Harvest Moon game now but obviously under a new name since he doesn't own the 'Harvest Moon' name.

Its not a ripoff, its just designed with Harvest Moon old visions and Harvest moon helped make the way for games like it, and they added their own ideas on what a "farming" sim should be. Stardew valley actually reminds me a lot of Harvest Moon Magical Melody. On Gamecube, that game had a ton of marriage Candidates and it had lots of dialogue. It's one of my favorites in the Harvest Moon franchise.
